No matter what anyone's thoughts on JK Rowling are, that headline/story is a total disgrace. The Sun doing what they do best, gutter, gutter "journalism" if you can even call it that.

Nobody will stand up and say it. Radcliffe and that self styled feminist warrior Watson wont call it out. Nor will they condemn their 'fans' calling for Rowlings books- her life's work- to be re credited to them on the basis that they learnt a script someone else wrote, based on books she wrote.

It’s human intelligence going barmy. We have the intelligence to create new concepts for identities and so here we are. The animal kingdom don’t do this. I mean we have people identifying as cats or forest fairies etc now it’s getting out of hand.

As a child I was obsessed with Taz the Tasmanian Devil cartoon. Mum was always always buying my Taz clothes from the boys section, but you know what, it was no gruelling task for her to do so. It’s not like the shop assistants interrogated her about her choice nor was it a problem for me when I walked into school wearing it. This overthinking and overanalysing is coming from a nation where, I dare say, life is too easy for us. There are still countries where daily survival, making ends meet is paramount - they don’t have time to poke holes in every little thing someone says or think up new identity concepts.
God yeah, when I think of all the real issues we could tackle and change to make a better world. Let women be women. Let trans have their own Bog and let's stop wasting time on the latest fashionable celeb driven nonsense.

I think with covid we may end up moving to more self contained cubicles with sinks/ dryers etc so that may solve that problem. It wont shut them up though. The late transitioning formerly straight male white Mtf trans lobby wont do anything to alienate their white, middle aged straight Male buddies by telling them they should be having sex with trans women or telling them to stop beating up trans women so they will have to carry on bullying women, Lesbians and gay men

Regardless of my opinions of Rowling, seeing that front page of The Sun this morning has sickened me. No woman should have to wake up to find the face of her abuser on the front page of such filth. And for The Sun to undermine the abuse with that headline? It's never "just a slap" and even if it had been (which it clearly wasn't) – abuse is abuse and to stick him on the front cover and paint him as near-heroic is inexcusable. No woman should ever have to find her abuse underplayed like that.

I think we can all agree that that headline from the sun (and now daily fail) is abhorrent. A stark reminder to not just JK but to all women that misogyny is alive and well, and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

The headlines today made me feel sick. No one deserves to have their abuser on any kind of platform like that. And people wonder why sexual assault and domestic violence aren’t always reported to authorities.

Thankfully Rupert Grint has a statement against Rowling's comments in The Times today so I bet you'll all stop licking his a now.

Not licking his a, he is the better actor of the three by a mile imo and he’s entitled to his opinion just like the rest of them, including JKR. They have all echoed the same sentiment; “Trans women are women and trans men are men.” Only, JKR did not dispute that in her original tweets. She spoke of biological sex, which neither you, nor I, can dispute exists.

To be fair, even if any of the actors agree with JK's tweets and essay content, they may not feel they are in a position to say so. I'd suggest there's lots of people in the public eye who toe the line publicly while privately thinking the world has lost the plot.

That’s true.

I just want to ask, now that you find yourself on the “wrong” side of leftists for the first time, do you now realise how unethical and damaging these leftist tactics are?

I mean of branding yourselves right and the “other side” wrong, to the point of the other side being irredeemable as human beings? And for reducing highly complex issues such as abortion and gay marriage to just “we’re right and good, you’re wrong and evil”? That anyone who disagrees with you must have evil and sinister motives such as homophobia or misogyny, rather than genuine concerns.

Did you ever consider what people who are not 100% pro choice, or not 100% in favour of gay marriage, might think or feel? Did you think they deserve any treatment they get, and has your opinion changed?
Please don't assume I was ever intolerant to other views on abortion rights and gay marriage because I certainly wasn't. I actively sought out their arguments because I truly wanted to understand where they were coming from. The majority of people are not "good" or "bad."
I was never one of these hardy leftists, I know the type you're probably imagining me to be, lots of my friends are. But I always thought of myself as a soft left. But being surrounded by peers who are very far left, any beliefs I have that lean even centrist make me feel some guilt.
Another thing, centrism is now demonised by the left, which is the ultimate example of 'you must believe everything I believe or you're out.'
It always annoyed me that everyone (particularly far-lefts) think that every single person is black or white. Either all their beliefs align with the left, or they all align with the right. We're all individuals with our own capacity for thought, how can you expect everyone's thoughts to fall into two neat little boxes like that? It's bonkers. People aren't so straightforward. I think the most basic people are those that make themselves 'believe' something just because it falls on one particular side of the political spectrum.

Don’t know if this has been posted yet apologies if it has but this is the statement Warner Brothers made on JK’s words.
Well that says absolutely bugger all, doesn't it??! You can almost see the beads of sweat running down their corporate legal department's forehead as they tried to compose that one!

I read it 3 times thinking I’d missed the point but obviously there isn’t one, they’re sitting right on the fence not wanting to offend anyone!

I'm actually kind of impressed that they managed to write a paragraph that says absolutely nothing. 😂

Why is everyone suddenly making ‘statements’ on what she said anyway? It’s all PR nonsense.

And did the likes of Eddie Redmayne and Daniel Radcliffe release ‘statements’ of support when #metoo was at it’s peak and women came out in their droves to talk about their sexual assault? What about BLM, have they involved themselves in that? Yet they Instantly jump at the chance to defend (Mostly white, let’s face it) men who think they are women, when they weren’t even under attack in the first place. The. Mind. Boggles.

I’m actually impressed with the Warner Bros statement, it’s the best they could do in this day and age to not throw JKR to the wolves while avoiding offending deranged wokesters.
