I’m glad we’re getting 5 episodes for this one but I was hoping for at least 6 or 7.

Yeah that book was so good. But was v long. Glad we are getting 5. This is who they have cast for Mazu, I think they've got her dead on.

Was out with some friends and acquaintances last night and one of them was making conversation: “who are your heroes”? There was only one person who immediately came to mind and out popped JKRs name before I’d even really thought about it. Fortunately, on this occasion I was among friends who will not march me straight to the ducking stool for loving her 🤣 even when I’d thought about it more while people were saying theirs, I still couldn’t think of anyone else. In other groups of friends/acquaintances I’d have had to say “oooh, can’t think of anyone!” (I know, it’s sad. Maybe something to address in my New Year’s resolutions this year…be around people I can be honest with more)

Epic Games is giving away Hogwarts Legacy for free on PC until 18th December - saw it on the Money Saving Expert Facebook page, so assume is legit. Downloading it now, but not sure my laptop will cope!

Just watched on YouTube a vlog by “Mammoth Club” of the WB Studio Tour of Potter and they’re another lot making Potter content but totally erasing J.K Rowling from the narrative and said at the end any ad revenue they make from Potter videos go to a trans organisation which in itself is fine as trans people need support. But , it just infuriates me that they do this just only with Potter videos to satisfy the trans extremists who think Jo is the devil. I never knew they did this with Potter videos until now. Molly and Alan talks often on their potter content about how much they love the story and the world but fails to mention the woman who is responsible for it and like many other potter content creators, they just don’t acknowledge her at all but use her world to benefit themselves.

Molly and Alan are your average left-wing Americans who are deep in the woo about a lot of stuff, they make me think of MAGA people just the left-wing version of MAGA. Cult thinking.

Extremists is right. I’m well behind JKR but could still attend a trans event with a friend to show support as I’m not a bigot and nor is JKR. It was a great night and huge fun.

I couldn’t, because there’s nothing about the trans experience I support. I don’t support the transing of children, I don’t support adults ruining their bodies with hormones and surgeries, and I don’t support trans identified men in women’s spaces (and vice versa). I don’t believe anyone is truly trans / born in the wrong body. It’s mental illness.

Is that bigotry?

I believe that gay men who transition think it’s more socially acceptable to conceptually “become a woman” vs being an effeminate gay man which to me is insane. I am gay and I know if I was a child in 2025 I would be told that I was in the wrong body by “professionals” whereas in the 90’s , I just grew up to be gay. My heart goes out to all those children that had this happen to them and grow up physiologically and physically scarred by going through that process.

No it’s not bigotry , I do genuinely believe some people are trans and live happily as their opposite sex. No issue with that at all but it’s become a bandwagon for those with real mental health issues.
They are not trans but think they are. I’m still okay with attending events and supporting people. The extremists have caused the problems, not the vast majority of trans people.

It’s like the fanfic writers in the HP fandom who preface their works by statements like: “I DO NOT give permission to copy this story, to translate it, or to repost on other sites, any artwork inspired by this story needs to be approved bu me, plagiarizing is NEVER okay, oh yeah, and duck JKR.”

Oh yeah, one of the reasons I had enough of that part of the fandom, not to mention in recent years, more and more fanfic writers have their reworked fanfics published... they hate JKR but start their writing careers with her characters.
