Thanks to @Falkor for the new thread title.

To any new posters - Please note that this is an appreciation thread for those who admire JK Rowling for her brilliant writing, wit, charity work and for standing up for women's rights against the madness.

JKR is fabulously wealthy. The 1st film has taken over £1 BILLION in takings, to date. Let alone the book sales around the World, the other films, toys, etc.

I'm glad she's said what she did.
Watson is a cunt. Radcliffe & Fry can go and fuck themselves as well.
I love that she is redoing a series and redoing the audio. It's been long enough that a product refresh makes sense, etc, but also I think it's a lovely lesson to Emma, Dan, Fry that actually, you are not spokespersons for the literary world she created, she gave them a platform for a time, but that life moves on and other people get to take on that role. I also think these tweets are a warning/ pre-empting that when the new series comes out, Emma and Dan etc are not required to represent in any way. I don't forsee any interviews where they have Emma and the new Hermione talking about the legacy and handing over of the baton, etc. This is JK saying No, you had your time, you ruined it, you're in the past, and that you don't get to speak on behalf of the Harry Potter franchise instead of me, the author. I also hope Nick and Papaa of the current crew learn to keep their opinions to themselves whilst repping the series. We need to get back to actors separating their professional lives and their personal views. Anyway, how can they work for her still if they feel such a way? They were just hedging their bets, but hopefully they will keep schtum now.

“Emma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public - but I have the same right, and I've finally decided to exercise it.”

JK Rowling isn’t messing about and I love to see it.

Watson‘s waffling around this is an absolute masterclass of a kind of witless, vacuous therapy-speak that absolutely dements me.

Someone who had really thought things through and had had a proper reconsideration of their views would say something like: “I thought x, I said y, it had z effect. I’ve since come to realise that in fact, my understanding of x was wrong, so I shouldn’t have said y, and I would like to apologise to the people that it had z effect on”. Or “I know that when I said <thing>, it upset people. I’m sorry. I think the people who pointed out how perfectly reasonable it is to think <opposite of thing> are right. I have people who think<opposite of thing> in my life and I love them“.

Not this half witted meandering through cliches and phrases that sound like they mean something, but actually don’t.

“'I really don't believe that by having had that experience and holding the love and support and views that I have, mean that I can't and don't treasure Jo and the person that I, that I had personal experiences with.
'I will never believe that one negates the other and that my experience of that person, I don't get to keep and cherish to come back to our earlier thing. Like I just don't think these things are either or”

This is the kind of thing that only a stupid person (or someone who has made themselves stupid trying to believe silly things) thinks sounds smart. It’s gibberish. She must be desperate for work. You could cobble together a hundred Emmas and not make one Jo’s worth of smarts, talent, charisma and humanity.

Emma Watson can fuck off on her entitled fanny , sitting on the asthmatic pit-pony that she rode in on, and keep fucking going.
Indeed.

So from her comments we learn that:

a) The wind has changed.

b). Work is drying up.

c). Her (what was it? - English Lit? Creative Writing? Screeen Writing? 🤔 ) course is proving harder work than she thought because she is as talentless a writer as she is an actor, and they expect her to actually put in the work.

d). All of the above.

That first clip I posted has been deleted on X. Here’s some other clips of the parts talking about Jo.

Extremists is right. I’m well behind JKR but could still attend a trans event with a friend to show support as I’m not a bigot and nor is JKR. It was a great night and huge fun.
I couldn’t, because there’s nothing about the trans experience I support. I don’t support the transing of children, I don’t support adults ruining their bodies with hormones and surgeries, and I don’t support trans identified men in women’s spaces (and vice versa). I don’t believe anyone is truly trans / born in the wrong body. It’s mental illness.

Is that bigotry?

Well, quite! “Shared some tears” over an apparently hugely popular children’s event because it’s based on a book whose author said some perfectly sensible words you don’t like. Get a grip, ffs.

Good point made here:

And JKR seems to be coping pretty well with this devastating news

JL can get in the sea. Don’t like JK’s respect and views about safeguarding women? Don’t profit by appearing in her work then.
Personally I think Tom Felton had the right approach by stating clearly that JKR has bought so much joy to the world with HP and this is needed.

I liked that he also acknowledged how much he has personally benefitted from being cast as Draco in childhood and how that was down to JKR. Something Daniel, Emma and Rupert would do well to remember.

I think she has started to realize that her virtue signalling didn’t get her any jobs. Work has been dry for quite some time for her.
Wasn’t she moaning about not being “consulted” for the series only a few months ago? Because we all need her interpretation of a character she didn’t invent and acted rather badly most of the time. She is probably seething, looking at how well Tom Felton is doing. He never threw JKR under the bus.

I've just read Joanne’s post about Emma and her ignorance, and I must say—this woman is bloody brilliant. It was an absolute joy to read. A phenomenal writer with razor-sharp wit and rock-solid arguments. She makes a brilliant point about how wealthy elites champion policies that will never touch their cushioned lifestyles. They’ll never suffer the harmful consequences. Right on, another day, another piece of wisdom from this woman!

Jo’s statement was fan fucking tastic. I bet EW is regretting planting the narrative of “a conversation wasn’t possible” and painted it like Jo refused to engage with her. Wheras in reality , Jo said in her statement that EW got a hand written note to her saying she was sorry for what she was going through but publicly sticking the knife in and Jo saying EW had her phone number. EW left those two points out !.

This makes me so happy to see Jo rightly being name checked in the trailer as every other Potter related thing these days try and act like she doesn’t exist. So happy !

I wonder how these people manage to get through their days. Imagine them being on a city break in London and suddenly - out of nowhere, without anybody warning their poor little souls of the possibility, there it is: the millennium bridge that the Death Eaters destroy. Unfathomable.
They hurry on, surely China Town is safe but on their way there they pass the Cursed Child theater and Harry riding a broomstick. Weak, they slowly slump down a random wall. Another city ruined. Edinburgh was bad, not even the graveyards were a place you could go, they are full of names of people. And now this.

Apparently Tom Felton got so much love and applause for his Broadway debut as Draco ❤

People love him for his appreciation for the role, and for the magical world Jo created, and for his humble demeanour and his respect to fans. Some of us also appreciate him not sticking the knife in to Jo, too, refusing to be dragged in to demands of bowing to ideology. ❤ Respect, Sir.
