When they met, she was fascinating and alluring. She was sexy. But as life progressed, fir whatever reason, positioned herself so she would not get any more roles. She really let herself go in more ways than one. A real no-no in Hollywood, despite him setting a clear boundary with her weight. He knew she'd get no work. And she became more strident, argumentive, impossible, nasty, entitled, unreasonable...sorry, but if she really had Lyme's and Fatigue syndrome, it would be impossible to do the typing let alone thinking, and her prescription craziness and etc.
Tip of the iceberg, she has a different diagnosis for every occasion.

I agree with him. I remember how Paris (especially) and Britney used to go for nights out wearing no knickers - then they’d make sure that they were on full view when the creepy paps got their upskirt shots. Cheap and nasty!
They literally had paparazzi upskirting them and selling the pictures to magazines who would print them with slut shaming headlines.
But sure, blame the women.

That sounds like something from the DM, "him setting a clear boundary with her weight" eh what? Is it automatic divorce if menopausal women put on a few pounds??

We only have AE's word for it that IG "can't abide fatties" and she is not to be trusted. I personally don't think her weight was the big issue. It was her behaviour. She wants to paint him as fixated on appearances but I think that is her more than him. The fact that he is with a woman with MS shows he has matured as a person.
I’m guessing he was encouraging healthy eating and exercise and that’s how she chose to present it.

I understand he’s not perfect. “Nobody’s perfect” would excuse everyone from any accountability ever and is potentially harmful. I mean is a man who classes women who celebrate their sexuality as “tarty” necessarily a good role model for young boys, if we’re borrowing this example?
No I'm not using that as an excuse. Im using it as fact. Nobody IS perfect

I don’t think she positioned herself not to get roles. I am sure she wanted them and wanted auditions. She was in her 30s when they moved to LA and that is an age when (unfairly) it’s already harder for actresses to get lead roles where they aren’t playing the mother or a much older figure. She also has said that she considers herself a lead actress. She didn’t have the body of work to get lead roles, for one thing, and it’s just hugely competitive. Even if she was a fantastic actress she would have struggled to get roles. If she was difficult on sets or to agents and casting directors, then yes, it would have been that much harder. I’m not convinced that had she been offered a great role that would have taken her away from the girls, she would have refused. So I think that can be ruled out.

So those comments were from 2006 🤷🏻‍♀️. I just can’t get my head around it. If he really said that then I have lost what respect I had of him. He sounds like an effing dinosaur from the seventies.

I remember watching the final episode of Extras and Ricky Gervais talking about the paps crouching in the gutter trying to get a shot up BS’s dress.

His girlfriend/wife was posing in a toilet naked in the nineties and he comes out with that shite.

They moved to LA and thought they were going to take the place by storm. The next power couple and ended up on Piers show along with Mel B talking about their life in Hollywood. Well look how that turned out for them all.

I know people change but how old was he when he uttered that crap. As regards to Malice well she’s still a sack of tit and will never change.
Do you have kids? If they are say, under 14ish, do you let them watch "Girls Gone Wild" and Music performances on TV with sexually suggestive dancers? I about busted a hip falling out of my seat to grab the remote to change the channel one time when Shakira (whose music I like) was dry suggestively dry humping a speaker/monitor on stage.

So did you lose all respect for him because he said it or because he feels that way? What am I missing?

What?! Have a look at how Paris behaved during that time! Ioan has a right to his opinion and I happen to agree with him!
Why can’t people say what they think? She was in the public eye and behaved the way she did - why shouldn’t she own that tit?!

Right. And we can condemn his comments and call them out as sexist, slut shaming and hypocritical while acknowledging these comments were made 15 years ago and there is a good chance he regrets them now and has a different viewpoint. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Yeah, that’s what I’m hinting at.

It almost feels like others perceive I’m crucifying him or retracting my support for him in this present matter due to these crappy comments he made 15 years ago—I’m not, I just have feelings about them being judgmental/unfair/driven by sexism, and idk it’s invalidating when I’m presenting a decently logical commentary on his problematic past behavior to meet me with a token of enlightenment I didn’t need about humanity not being immune to imperfection.

Anyway, I leave that there. Thanks for this.

I know you were replying to someone else's comment but...

There is nothing wrong with celebrating your sexuality. To each his/her/their own. I also believe that it's a parent's responsibility to monitor their children in their own ways. Nobody cares because I'm not famous but I didn't consider Brittany or Paris good role models either at that time. I'm sure they've both changed since then. I think we're talking about 20 years or so.

Also, I still love Miley Cyrus but I did cringe for a time after she started celebrating her sexuality after being a Disney star. I can't help it. It's just me.

lol I found Paris embarrasing and I'm very glad that she grew into the woman she is today. that's all I'm going to say about this.
Those comments were from 2006 roughly and I don't think he would say that now. He is not so conservative now. In the past he was more influenced by his upbringing, saying he wanted to settle in Wales with a Welsh girl and have chickens. Then he got with AE and we were all WTF?
summer 2005 actually
Thanks for the co credit on the thread title, but it was originally @Penguin86 who said it, I think, two threads ago.
sorry @Penguin86

Anyhoo hens. Strangely quiet from Team Alice (not the bondage ones). AE must be fuming, they’ve completely failed her and are just tweeting the most drab and pointless crap.

In other news I’ve become quite an expert on Betty Broderick. I think I could go head-to-head with @plinky by now.

Yes I have children. His comments back then are disgusting and I’m sure if I discussed this with them they would find it equally nauseating.

Side-note that I hope people are OK? We’re like 2 pages into a new thread and tit is getting a little chewy among us—maybe we should change the subject? I never really suggest we change the channel and don’t mean to silence anyone nor imply that their current opinions/comments aren’t valuable but like I’m just concerned that because we all have such pointed perspectives on certain matters (myself included) it could lead to a bit of frustration-fueled derailment.

Again I hope no one is feeling sour. 🍋

Just what the actual duck am I witnessing on this thread? The views being presented today are just as misogynistic as what the FMs are coming up with.

Ioan’s views regarding Paris and Britney were unfortunately of their time when it was actually deemed fair game and acceptable to rib these girls for their choices, their public perception was often orchestrated by the media. They were young girls in a big world with little to no guidance. Look at the evidence now, Britney was a workhorse with MH issues and Paris was emotionally and mentally abused for years by her own parents and educators - you really think they’re going to be making adult decisions at a very not-adult age with limited life skills?

In my eyes, Paris and Britney weren’t sluts, and still aren’t. The whole sex tape thing is a foul misjudgement, it was revenge porn but I’m glad that misogyny again plays a part in pointing the video of responsibility and blame. Obviously sarcasm.

Whilst I think Ioan is wrong for what he said, he is a product of his environment. A conservative upbringing and a man trying to be seen and heard in a time where making wild misogynistic digs was perfectly acceptable. I would hope that now if asked again his views were different, but even if they don’t differ - the world has changed in a way that we’re not front paging slut accusations and that would hopefully bode well for his daughters and their decisions.

A ramble but bloody hell this thread has been gross recently.

He would have been better off marrying Paris, she funds a chicken charity

I’m certainly not calling them sluts and didn’t remark on them at all, I just said everyone’s made remarks that they’ll look back on and regret as no ones perfect. Paris was only 19 at the time of the leaked tape, and high on drugs and not aware of what was going on. That’s exploitative and not cool at all. Both her at Britney were exploited from young ages.
I made a joke yesterday about the thread getting closed, and all hell broke loose… it’s getting v uptight in these threads and I feel like I’m walking on eggshells so imma dip for a while. My period is due and I need to keep my sanity intact 🤣

Ella, this wasn’t directed at you pal, this was more just an out there post for those who was firing off crappy judgements.
You’re right though, it’s gotten uptight and whilst it’s ok to have differing opinions, the misogynistic views need to be reined in when a lot of the players in this story are females/femme presenting.

I need those tweets 🤣. Alice Alice Alice
Alice in September 2021: Ioan cant stand woman that weight more than 140 pounds, this is basically where she kicked off her accusations that he cant stand fat people
PhZnIQ7.png

Alice in january 2018: In 2017 weights 145 pounds - now weights 162 pounds, no further comment
aVSZHqB.png

Alice in october 2018: Now weights 170 pounds (we can conclude it from the above tweet) claims that when she weight 145 Ioan thought she was too thin
5FtXKgX.png

good thing that her dad is not a math professor

Though in fairness when Ioan told her to cut back a bit she had a BMI of about 25.1 it's only slightly overweight, certainly not necessary, but her whole narrative is wildly exagerated still
