Craig has an air about him that he thinks he should win each week. I think it was the right decision based on this week only, seems unfair on Bryony last week somehow thought.
Rita to win!

I feel bad for Craig but his design made very little sense and it’s been done elsewhere and to better effect (for example, The Cosy Club).

I didn’t mind the flying guitars and I liked the Tartan wallpaper but the random Sex Pistols heart looked really cheap and childish and not linked at all to Granny chic. The disco ball guitar was bizarre.

Thought John did much better this week, Rita smashed it again and should be nailed on as the winner but Michelle’s decisions often baffle me so…
I think that Craig completely lost his way this week. He was so patronising about what your Nana's front room would look like. My Nana had Ercol furniture and a skandi chic vibe that would fetch a fortune nowadays. Looking forward to next Thursday 😀

Craig was my favourite overall but he lost the plot with this one.
I said before that his 50s Mad Men vibe would have been perfect in that space. The last one just looked quite tatty. I didn't like John's much (just not my taste) but it was impressive and I did love the bar area and background.

When I started watching the episode, I was so sure John would be out - biggest venue, highest ceilings - but his design was great. Craig's was awful downstairs, those chairs looked so uncomfortable. I had a look at the instagram pages of the venues and it looks like Craig's has had the most changes to it since they were all redesigned too.

When it’s a business I always check out their insta afterwards. Interestingly Craig’s and Johns venues have kept their designs, Rita’s hasn’t.
Do you have any photos of Rita’s now because all I can see that they’ve changed is the brick background with their logo

I’m just starting now … the royal fool is my absolute fav place in Edinburgh. I hope it’s not ducked up. Though that said I was there during the fringe last year I don’t remember it being changed.

edit: I do remember the bar being done and being a bit meh about it , I wasn’t in the other room.

Did anyone notice when John did his bit where the family speak about him etc and he’s at his school writing on the white board and talking to his class there was no one actually in the class? The reflection shows he was talking to an empty room.

Craig would never bend or compromise his style for the brief, and he definitely had an air of superiority about him.

Even the dog episode, it was super impressive but ignored a lot of the brief and client. the whole cartoon style added nothing for the dogs and in many ways was wasted time and energy. It was very well done, but irrelevant. The door idea and furniture scale helped him there.

i dont like the change of prize in the last two series as it immediately benefits the soft furnishings/interior decoration based designers rather than the construction/interior design designers.

I didn’t see the reflection but thought it was to an empty room because it just felt awkward and unnatural 🤣

Was Baby Reindeer filmed there? When he's doing his disastrous Edinburgh run?
It looked vaguely familiar.

According to Wikipedia:

In Edinburgh, the Hoppy pub in Meadowbank, Edinburgh served as the exterior of the Festival Fringe venue for Donny's comedy show (interior scenes were filmed in the Army & Navy pub in Stoke Newington, London).

Alan mentioned Baby Reindeer on the episode.

I'll miss watching Craig & Alan flirt innocently.

The stage show of Baby Reindeer had a run in summer hall in 2019. The really bad year in hoppers was 2014/2015ish I think.

This is some weak tea but I was talking to my friend who's a bookkeeper earlier today and apparently Craig never had or owned a shop in Clapham. He worked for a lovely woman called Lisa and was sacked after running up thousands of pounds worth of debts...apparently Lisa is still working as an interior designer to try and pay it off.
My friend is going to get some more information tomorrow.

He is listed as director of Kitschen Sync on the company check website. No Lisa is mentioned

Here’s an interview from 1999 about the shop

and another article

They were also on a tv show called ‘Our House’ which aired in 2001 which mentions their shop.
