I wonder if she's waiting until he's sentenced, and will then dump him, supporting until that point.
He admitted to searching for indecent images of children according To the DM. Surely she can’t continue to support him?I wonder if she's waiting until he's sentenced, and will then dump him, supporting until that point.
In my experience most will plead guilty at the first opportunity, they will have seen disclosure so know some of what will be brought up in court (stops further digging too!). By pleading guilty there’s no trial, there’s no real detail (there will be a summary at sentence) and they will only plea to what can be proven. He would not want a trial for his own sake and if he gives a tit about any of his family or friends he would not want a trial. So pleading guilty at the first opportunity stops the media circus but also reduces his sentence, he has been given good advice. They will also try to mitigate his involvement and thus the “it was a spam email” is being put out there.I’ve just spoken to someone who knows a lot more about this kind of thing than me and they said to have plead guilty in the pre trial hearing means there must have been overwhelming evidence that he was guilty.
Never heard of this man (and I'm obsessed by reading - will google his stuff in a minute) but he looks revolting. Not at all surprised he wants to hang out with those awful women and vice versa - they all seem cut from the same (mishapen, in need of a wash) cloth. Also, another big mate of Eric’s is author John Niven. Also a member of Sali Hughes, Caitlin Moran friendship group. He was with Eric when Eric beat up a load of people at a Westminster bar. This guy (Niven) constantly refers to people as ‘sex cases‘ and other derogatory terms on Twitter, basically for not having the same politics as him. Yet one of his best mates has admitted to searching for indecent images of children. It beggars belief.
Being drunk is not an excuse, imagine you admitted to running someone over with the excuse you were drunk?! My guess now will be he will claim he had a drinking problem and got to rehabHe admitted looking for it while drunk. It had many children in it.
I used to read her columns too, I think what has really shown peoples true characters has been social media, where they have no editor to filter their thoughts. IMO anywayI used to quite like IK. Years and years ago, she had a column in one of the Saturday papers (it’s at least 20 years ago) and she came across quite well in it. So I was looking forward to reading one of her subsequent books. It’s was, however, utter rit. Sub par chick lit with an ending you could see coming a mile off. I still followed her on Twitter for a while but it dawned on me what a bleep she was when she stuck up for Margaret Thatcher (while she was still alive). Apparently it’s not on to make fun of an old lady. It struck me what a divide there was between the so called ‘liberal elite’ who, while they’d lived through Thatcherism, somehow hadn’t quite grasped what people in the North (or anywhere outside London really) had gone through when Thatcher was in power. My ex-mining town still hasn’t really recovered from what Thatcher did to it in the 80’s. Anyway, that’s a bit off topic, and IK still hasn’t proved otherwise that she not a huge twit. Threatening to send her god awful husband round to ‘beef faced’ Tattlers has only confirmed it. Looks like the chickens are coming home to roost with that one. In other circumstances, I’d feel a bit a sorry for her, but y’know![]()
Yes this was exactly my thought! His excuse stinks.I’d want to know why he hadn’t deleted it or notified the police? He’s an MP he’s in the public eye, that would be the first thing I did, I would crap myself if I thought someone could spam me like that.
Also if he was an mo for a certain amou;t of time he will have an amazing pension tooYeah, he left in 2015. I don’t know what he does now but IK makes enough for the pair of them. Salaries for star columnists are A LOT
yes abso-bloody-lutely. I am sorry i would be unable to trust someone if this happened to me. It is sickening. He may have problems etc but I just couldn't. Plus, how could you EVER JUDGE one other person and have the cheek to ag them off / bully them if this was in your life.If she knew about this and remained silent she's complicit imo.
Maybe so, he was an independent for a few years after being Labour.Pretty sure the Labour Party kicked him out due to his behaviour.
Yeh exactly, maybe you drink heavily and are rude or aggressive to people/overly emotional.. but to resort to abuse is you, not substances . VileI posted this is the Sali Hughes thread but posting here too because I am so angry.
I am so fed up of men blaming abuse and violence on their addiction or on alcohol or on mental illness. He's portrayed himself as a victim. 'Oh I was drinking heavily but I'm rich enough to seek expensive therapy for all my troubles. This email just landed in my inbox and I was so helpless I couldn't stop myself watching it'.
I grew up with alcoholics in my family. They were flawed, but good people. I've also drunk heavily, but never ended up with abuse videos on my laptop. It's not an excuse and it takes all focus away from the true victims. This is vile. I am so angry.
