I am disgusted by his ‘sentence’, hardly a punishment, is it? I was really hoping Huw Edwards would be made an example of, but yet again, those in the Judiciary feel differently. Like I said in a previous post, it does make me wonder whether some of these Judges are indulging in the same behaviour. Some of them are so crooked.

The real victims are those little children, abused and exploited, their young lives already ruined. It sickens me. Nobody has the guts to stand up and fight for these children, to punish those sick bastards and issue them a proper sentence. Castrate the bloody lot of them…and string them up. Vile, vile vermin, the lot of them.

Anyone who gives someone like Huw Edwards a platform is as bad as him.

Via the Daily Mail, his Substack sounds so utterly delusional Huw isn't on the same planet as the read of us. He writes as if he is still the prestige BBC broadcaster talking on camera to millions, it's real lunacy on display.

I just feel sorry for his victim(s) and hope they find peace, it can't be easy with him having suddenly crawled out from his hole and trying to be famous again.

That he is also acting like some sort of mental health advocate is the final insult.

Just when you think Huw couldn’t get more vile he describes images of underage children as ‘amazing’. He makes me so angry!!!

He was diagnosed with hardening of the arteries and major depressive disorder. I always categorise people who defend their actions by bringing up mental and physical health as it not being an excuse but a reason. He also identifies his sexuality as bi sexual. The stuff about having to hide his sexuality was smoke and mirrors it seems. It sounds from the report that his wife was aware of it. They grew apart due to difficulties that occur in relationships as you get older. Huw Edward’s was a pathetic middle aged man who used excuses not to manage his own life and mental illnesses. He could have got ten years in prison for what he did. So could the young man who sent him the images. Something has got to be done about the amount of man we are still bringing up that have an inflated sense of their own entitlement are emotionally immature their whole lives and pose the greatest to society.

She was incredibly dignified and that statement was very compassionate to HE's colleagues, the last thing you'd expect someone to think about. It says a lot about her - positive, in my view.

Well the current PM was the head of the DPP who let Jimmy Savile off when the five women who ended up telling their story in a BBC documentary (which the BBC canned & ITV went on to show) Those women much earlier went to the police, the police investigated it, found they felt there was a case to answer so passed it over to Queef's lot at the DPP. Who passed on prosecuting the filthy of necrophile. So then and only then did those victims involve the media.

What’s happening with Amanda Abington’s accusations re. Strictly? The BBC have been saying they will release their report since ages. I feel they are holding off so the new series can start off well. No idea yet as to Gio’s guilt. It’s all very clandestine.

HE has only been sentenced on what he was found out for. He has done way more, the ‘lost’ phone will show that.

God forbid he continues with his peadophilia though statistics say he will. Isn’t the reoffence rate at about 80%? If so he would certainly get jail time.

Deplorable sentence and a big ‘fuck you’ to those will real mental health challenges.

No longer a danger to kids? Anyone normal will not allow a convicted child sex offender to be around their kids.

HE is as evil as it gets. Gratification from those vulnerable around him that he purposely seeks out, by payment from his bottomless purse.

What a nightmare his kids are living through. Not only the shame and embarrassment and disgust and perhaps having to reconcile that with how they felt or still feel about him as their father and are heartbroken but consider this in the sentencing remarks:

"There is a tangible risk that Mr. Edwards may attempt s**c*d* as he recognises that his life trajectory, both personal and professional, may have been irretrievably damaged by events and he remains concerned about how events have and will impact on his family. Mr. Edwards considers that his family’s situation may be improved if he was not alive."

If he does go through with that, his kids will have to live with the added trauma of their dad thinking that taking his own life was for their benefit. Can you even imagine how much that will mess with their mental health? I really, really feel for them.

It would be outrageous if the theoretical threat of s***ide could influence sentencing for this sort of offence. It's galling to hear wibble like not getting into Oxford offered up as any kind of mitigation for viewing images of csa. Threatening s***ide is in the toolbox of all coercive controllers.

It's irrelevant, like his pleas of mental illness. How does being even clinically anxious or depressed lead to long-term relationships with pedalos supplying you with images of kids? Mental illness should only be a mitigation where it's directly relevant to the offence. We're not talking about someone with post-partum depression walking out of a shop without paying here.

So he's in his sixties and has just been found out twice from two unrelated sources. He's long been practised at hiding evidence and everything about his nature. This will not be all of it, not a chance.

I'm just gonna go ahead and ignore the post above calling me dim and implying I must support any of my loved ones who abuse children (not that I have any knowledge of anybody I'm close to doing such a thing, anyway) because it's not productive.

For everybody else: I think the fact she separated with him and then set the motions to divorce him is evidence enough. We don't know what she knew. Her putting out a statement is also unsurprising given his weaponising of mental health in DMs, a common abuse tactic. I hope she and her family are okay. It was an impossible situation. I think focus should remain on the abusers and criminals who have actively harmed children and on the UK legal system that enables them to continue doing so.

I thought they might have gone a bit tough on him, clearly not. Sentences for child abuse images are disgustingly low.

He would have been the perfect person to make an example of. Hard sentence to deter others from doing the same.

Unfortunately in Starmers Britain the message is you should be more frightened of stealing a few bath bombs from a global company than downloading CSAM. Shameful.

I wonder what the details of this 'sex offender program' are. I remember reading a few years back that a lot of rehabilitation programs were untested with no proof that they work.

Some of the sentencing remarks were bizarre to me. The one mentioned upthread about his not gaining any enjoyment from the images- how the fuck would anyone know? Even if they were deleted immediately, presumably he can remember what he's seen?!
