How to stop snoring

Neither me nor my husband used to snore but we’ve both put on weight and up until Christmas we’re drinking more. To me it’s only 10 or so lbs and I start snoring so I defiantly think weight and drink contributes. My husband was a pain last night and I kept poking him, denied it all!

My husband snores a lot at the minute. He always has a couple of cans of beer and has put weight on so is what I'd class as overweight( his BMI might actually put him obese, I don't know) .
He snores when he goes to bed so I nudge him, tell him to move and he says he wasn't even asleep. Why are you snoring then?
My husband does this a lot “im not even asleep” ahhhh

I can relate to your entire post. Currently lying next to a snoring bear of a man and I swear, it’s the only time I’ve ever felt murderous. I work nights (my night off) so my sleep is crappy as it is; I’m a very light sleeper. I sympathise with you completely. ❤
I also worry about not hearing the kids through the night. He certainly doesn’t!

ETA: we’ve just had a fight about it and I’m now downstairs on the couch. He had the gall to tell me to “try and get some bloody sleep”! 😠
I also get annoyed that I miss out on sleeping in our nice bed

My husband doesn’t drink but is I reckon 2 stone overweight I’ve suggested him cutting back walking more easing into it , he agrees and doesn’t follow through. I do think weight is huge reason

Weight is definitely the reason. My OH has put on a lot of weight in recent years. He never used to snore before.

Feeling grim after my “sleep” on the couch, so OH has been told he’s taking 3yo for his vaccinations today instead of me.

It’s definitely weight and drinking dark alcohol I find. My partner used to be horrific for it, I had to keep sleeping in the spare room because it was making me really anxious and exhausted. He lost 4 stone and now he only really snores when he has red wine or port. I don’t think it’s a silly thing to be annoyed about, yes it’s not their ‘fault’ as such but there are things they can be doing to help and if they don’t take it seriously it’s annoying. Being exhausted all the time is horrible, inflicting that on you even if it’s not 100% on purpose shouldn’t be something your partner is ok with!

I'm a completely silent, pitch black room, light sleeper too. My boyfriend is only at home over the weekend and he works away so I only get it three nights a week but a lot of the time we sleep in different rooms which I don't really like. Or we start in the same one and one of us ends up moving through the night. Has anyone found ear plugs that are actually comfortable? I've tried so many and none of them have been any good apart from the ones which are like putty but they were so good I got one stuck inside my ear and couldn't hear anything for two weeks until I went to the hospital to get it out 😂
I do feel so sorry for people who can't escape the noise every night. Lack of sleep or constant broken sleep is horrible!

No I’ve not found any suitable ear plugs I’m happy listening to music some nights but it’s not good having it super loud to drown his noises out , we’ve been looking at fold up beds and sofa beds for our tiny spare room and taking it in turns for now - not ideal at all :( but I’m lucky I can do that. Kids have invited me to sleep in their rooms here they would be so hyper I still wouldn’t sleep well
