How much working from home do you actually do?

Rekindling this thread as I work in tech so WFH pretty much permanently from now on as the company decided to downsize the pricey city centre offices.

I do a lot of work at home but annoyingly I've found that due to my partner and I always being home (he also works in tech so similar situation) we have become the bloody parcel drop off for the estate!

People I don't even know are putting "if not in leave at No X" on their delivery instructions and it's getting on my nerves!

I have ADHD so it takes forever to get back in the zone once I've had to run to the door

I am EXACTLY the same… our neighbours even started having parcels delivered to our actual address rather than just as an alternative

Omg!! Just put a note on your door saying “only parcels for [your name] should be delivered here.” Or I think through Royal Mail you can say you don’t want to be an alternative address. I would flip my tit!!!

I refuse to take in parcels for any of my neighbours. One time the delivery driver called me and I suggested a couple of doors down. Whilst I was on the phone I heard the delivery driver say can you take the parcel for number 48 and heard my neighbour say no way and slam the door on them. And another time I accepted a parcel for someone thinking I was being helpful and they were so rude over it. So I've given up helping out neighbours.

What absolute cheek!! I'd definatly see what you can do about making sure they don't come to your address.
100% get what you mean about ADHD - I've got ADHD and wfh is a struggle to stay on the ball at the best of times let alone when you've become a make shift royal mail depot.

I'll never forget a delivery driver getting crappy with me after he knocked on the door and asked if I would take a package for next door. I couldn't see any parcel, so assumed it was small and I agreed. He walked back to the van and started to get a 60" TV out!!! I shouted over to him that I wasn't taking that it would fill my hallway! He got proper huffy!!

But who orders a TV and then isn't in when it is delivered??

Probably should have been clearer… they’re good friends with us and asked as it would mean we definitely got parcels for them, rather than random other neighbours! We don’t mind for them, it’s everyone else I have an issue with

Definitely! I was FUMING today as I was in a proper groove with things before the doorbell went too. I was waiting on a package for myself so didn't think to ignore.

It was a massive box from The Range as well. Took up half the bloody hallway. When I initially saw it I assumed my boyfriend had simply ordered too much (he is a secret nighttime shopper) and by the time I clocked what the delivery guy was saying it was already through the door!
