HAHA literally same as us. Although I was just hovering I did feel a bit awkward to be honest but it made it SO much easier and literally not one thing broke!!
I wanted to pay for this but Husband didn't want to so we're doing it ourselves with a man in a van

What so they pack everything? Like everything???? How did I not know this!
Literally *everything*. Dirty dishes, pot pourri in the bowl it's in, a half eaten chocolate bar... (all things I've heard from friends and family have been packed/have had packed myself when moving house)

Wow! I didn't have a clue this was even a thing! I'm actually shocked. I'm going to get a few quotes I think because the thought of packing is so overwhelming!

Yeah, they will genuinely just blitz a room and put everything that's not bolted down in boxes. Well worth the money and not normally that expensive (I think ours was £750 for a 3 bed house in 2019).

This is about the same as we were quoted earlier this month for packing up a 3-bed house. We decided to save the money and do it ourselves.

As somebody who has just spent 30 minutes packing mugs (literally one person in our house drinks hot drinks - WHY so many mugs?)....let's just say I'm regretting my life choices.

My parents have been quoted £3000 and that was the cheapest! 3 bed house.
£700 is the quote just to pack not move as well. If they have been quoted £3000 just to pack then they need to get more quotes because it doesn't sound like that company really wants that business

That's for absolutely everything including disassembly and reassembly and unpacking again. They are moving an hour away so fuel as well. My Dad has a workshop too to do. They do nothing other than drive to new home.

Ah so you’d probably need a separate lorry or van for the workshop and the gear will be heavy. That explains the cost. Even if it is ridiculously high.

I paid £750 for the removal and another £350 for packing. This is in the North East. Money well spent imo! Included all the packing materials.

Hi guys,

just wondering if anyone could help me to understand what a mortgage broker does…

I haven’t used one but my friend is and I’m trying to understand how it works.

I know what they do in terms of finding you a lender/deal but is it the same process as if you were doing it with a mortgage advisor?
So once you’ve done your mortgage application and the broker finds a lender, is it the same process? The lender has to accept and confirm that this is definitely ok for them to borrow the money?
Thank you!

As far as I’m aware, a mortgage advisor and mortgage broker are basically the same thing

I am currently going through an obsession with Kirsty and Phil’s Love it or List it on All4, and after 3 episodes in a row it decided to put on the pilot episode of Location Location Location and OH MY GOD I’m crying laughing at what it was like back then! Phil sounds so different, he’s definitely had elocution lessons and Kirsty is beyond wooden with strange wig-like hair…. and the prices are so cheap, I’m so jealous of those buyers!

Hiya hoping to get opinions. We want to upsize, our house is three story which we hate and doesn’t have enough downstairs space (2A 2C). We can’t have people round for dinner or socialising as we don’t have enough space . We would be paying an extra £500 a month on top of what we do now. It’ll be tight but do able
am I dreaming. Is it too risky?
It’s a bit decision so I’m a bit scared 😂
Thanks

Been offered a part ex on another new build. Hoping there’s enough equity in my existing new build that is 18 months old to be able to afford the move 😫
