Been to see Lee cronins the mummy at the cinema today ive seen mixed reveiws but I really enjoyed it, its not your typical "mummy" film and its quite gory in parts but would recommend
I saw this the other day and I felt the same. The only part that really made me think woah how unnecessary was with the grandmother towards the end.
Overall I really enjoyed, and did actually laugh out loud a couple of times

Finally watched Weapons last night and loved it. Far more entertaining than I expected, lighter somehow, and it rollicked along.

Enjoyed the episodic narrative from each character’s perspective, which wove into our understanding (looking at you, Benedict Wong). Also loved the character of James, and am glad to see the actor’s also in Zach Cregger’s next one, Resident Evil. Looking forward to that, now.

Has anyone seen Dracula: A Love Story (2025) ? I think it's the first Dracula film I've been unable to finish. Absolute rubbish IMO and a rip off of Coppola's 1992 film. It didn't help that I actually found Dracula quite repulsive.

I also started on the second series of The Mayfair Witches last night. I love Anne Rice and read all her novels years ago but I have found the recent adaptions very hit and miss. Interview With A Vampire is brilliant. Talamasca was ok. The Mayfair Witches I'm going to give up on. I got through the first series but the second series has left me cold.

I finally got round to watching The Conjuring:Last Rites.

I really enjoyed it. I thought it was much better than the last one.

I also thought they set it for for more movies with a proper introduction of Judy and her marriage to Tony Spera. They have continued the work of The Warrens after they retired.

I guess this is still horror, I just watched the new shark movie on Netflix - “Thrash”. I enjoyed it, very typical shark movie so you know what you’re getting before watching.
It reminds me of the other movie, crawl (I think) which is similar but with crocodiles. I enjoyed that movie too 😂
I quite liked crawl as well.

I watched the long walk today - glad I didn’t go to the cinema to see it at the time now. It’s was okay but nothing to rave over imo. It was just sad really.

I binge watched the new “terrifying series” on Netflix last weekend. I think it’s called “something very bad is about to happen”. It started off strong, a couple of jump scares but imo, it got pretty boring. I thought the concept/message was cool but equally not surprising (trying not to spoil) but it’s not as scary as it’s being made out to be imo
I've seen very mixed reviews tbh.

Just watched Backrooms. It’s more vibes than out and out horror or jump scares but I enjoyed it. Quite unsettling and preferred it to Obsession.
as someone who has worked in retail, the big, half empty rooms with no windows and stark crappy lighting and random junk felt creepily familiar.

Not a film but I enjoyed the first two episodes of Widow’s bay with Matthew Rhys on Apple TV. Lots of horror tropes but so far but I think it’s promising and well done. Might be biased because I have bit of a crush on Matthew. Influenced a lot from Stephen King I think and quite creepy in its own way.

As above so below. Amazon prime
Seen this a couple of times and I really like it . I am wondering if it’s coz it’s cave related as I also really like the Descent .
Cant say I’m into caving personally but clearly caves tick the boxes film wise !

I watched Scream 7 at the weekend. Some good kills, and nice to have some nostalgia at points, but it didn’t really need to be made. The reveal at the end with regard to the identity of the killer(s) was underwhelming. I think they should’ve just started over rather than make Sydney the central point. Again.

I watched Together as well. Loved it. Love Alison Brie anyway, but she was great in this. And the mention of one of my favourite albums ever - Spice by the Spice Girls - and a cameo of 2 Become 1 was the icing on the cake.
