I think I’m one of the rare watchers that didn’t mind Diane and actually liked her character. This is a shock. At the time when the show is on the brink of being axed I never know whether people leaving are of their own accord or producers ending contracts. I still don’t get why they axed Cindy for example, and Leah when mainly popular and favourable characters

I loved Cindy but it felt like they didn't know what to do with her once Mandy left and then they killed off Ella. She had no family around bar Tom (who also felt like a spare part for ages). Leah should've at least been given a better exit that wasn't another generation of teen pregnancy.
