I’ll do some research on that, I’m very curious. In my field if your thesis is below 90% it’s considered very average . Well the truth is students here work on their thesis for a whole semester or even more if it includes experiments and I don’t remember how long it was for Holly.
I would love to learn more about this, maybe it’s a uk thing, maybe not

I think she is scared of getting a 'real' job as it will mean going far out of her comfort zone and having to interact with people daily, so she's trying to do everything in her power to avoid that (i.e. tutoring from her bedroom, dragging out the Narna clothing brand that reached it's peak in 2017, staying in education for as long as possible even though her study plans are not in line with her career plans, continuing to film productivity vlogs to try and fill this void in her that a normal job would actually fill!).

Yeah, the UK system isn't comparable to elsewhere in terms of percentages. Normally you need over 70% for a First Class degree. Most people who get a first will be in the low 70s on average. Most students get a 2:1 which is roughly 60%. An 85% is pretty much unheard of.

It sounds very unsettling (and a bit sad )

idk if it's just cause I'm from a different discipline but like... getting onto a master's program honestly wasn't as hard as she seems to be finding it?

Her CV won’t have any “real” job on it. I know she has businesses but she doesn’t have any experience in team work or collaboration which lots of jobs expect.

she’s made such a huge deal out of masters applications, so many people do it every year without this much drama

I'm just so confused as to why she was considering a research career when she hates labs. I know she loves learning but I'm just not sure it's right for her. I'm the same and I can't imagine anything worse.

Also how old was she in this vlog? she just seems and looks so young and I think she was maybe 20? But like I might be wrong

Not all research is lab-based. Even in science.

Omg this video makes me cringe so hard.
“I don’t wanna use any chemical ...or.. drug... thing”

* infinite facepalm *

She was a Facebook mom at 20
“It’s natural”

PLUS i wonder how many worms Shen has eaten so far along with her pesticide/herbicide/insecticide-free berries

I study at an Agricultural university and every spring all reachable berries vanish instantly, us the short people are disadvantaged in this race.
We are all very much aware that more than half of the berries we eat are * extra proteinated * ( if you know what I mean ) .

When you buy fruit you also pay for quiality control , food safety tests etc etc .

-Rant off-

In the sciences 85 isn’t close to as rare as it is in the arts. 85 is high but not abnormally so for her course

Considering she had barely anything else going on in comparison to the majority of Cambridge students I would expect her to get a high mark, yes she did dance etc but she didn’t really have any friends to distract her from she doing anything but work

Literally her 3 years at Cambridge she spent every waking second studying, dancing or eating and she usually studied while she ate too.
She spent zero time doing normal recreational activities like watching tv or reading a book or going out with friends.

I would expect her to have got a high mark

She is around 20 in this I think. People age differently sure, but here she just looks unhealthily young. Even now, Holly doesn’t look 22, but coupled with the way she acts, she might as well be 15. She hasn’t diverged from the routine of a schoolchild at ALL. Maybe she likes the consistency and ‘routine’, but having the routine of a 17 year old when you’re 22 isn’t normal, it’s worrying.

She was practically emaciated for quite a while, even after “recovery” it makes sense that she wouldn’t look 22 when she repressed her growth as a teenager and now is well past the age where physical growth stops.

Emily is a bit immature as well but not quite to Holly’s level. I think it’s her parents fault mainly, she has been in her own sheltered little bubble for so long. Who cares about being top of your class when you haven’t really grown and matured as a person or had any significant life experiences or made any friends??

As others have said I enjoyed her Australia vlogs. I wish she would do something similar with travel, maybe something in a group of people as it gets easier to travel and more places open up. I find her quite boring honestly. I also look forward to when she can move out, I agree that she needs to function in the real world. She needs a friend who has their life relatively together and is mature, to guide her.

The glow up video was uploaded 6 days ago ! And she still hasn’t washed her hair !
She workouts daily ! I can’t I just can’t this is too gross for me
It was uploaded 6 days ago but I think she actually did the video a day or two before then 🤢

🤮 gross.
Just because her hair doesn’t get greasy for 2 weeks it still needs to be washed in that time!! Hair still gets dirty and it can hold bacteria/germs.

not surprising though. She used to workout First thing in the morning and then not shower until she went to bed
