I think she's been doing spin throughout lockdown. As long as she's not standing up on climbs, then it's a good low impact carido for her to keep up fitness and strength throughout her ankle recovery.
However she should be exercising less than before to help aid with recovery, so I hope she's not spinning every day. At least in her video when she was editing the vlog when she injured herself she was aware that she acted like an idiot, I hope it's taught her a lesson and she won't be so reckless in the future when it comes to pushing herself too hard through pains
I don’t think it’s taught her anything to be honest.

She pushed herself in Australia and got hospitalised, and yet after that just put it down to being a lack of salt and ‘being silly’, and not actually realising a bigger issue that she can’t let herself just chill out. The same here really. She ran, hurt herself, and kept running even while her ankle was still sore. Yeah, everyone makes mistakes, but it’s a pattern with Holly.

All that, coupled with her other obsessive tendencies and her inability to actually sit with her thoughts, means she probably won’t get help for a while. She can’t admit to herself anything is wrong because she doesn’t actually allow herself to think for 2 seconds!

I used to really like Holly when she was at cambridge and often found her study with me’s really motivating. But at the same time she doesn’t have a personality apart from being productive or exercising/being vegan. I find the fact that she’s only just started talking about reading books is concerning - as a first class student you should enjoy reading around your subject and reading for fun - I’m only a first year at uni and have two shelves full of books for my degree but holly has none. She also states that she is ignorant about politics/ world issue which pisses me off so much - she has loads of time to educate herself about these things and there are a lot of resources available. She doesn’t seem to have any leisure time like watching tv or reading which i actually find concerning, holly has socialised herself into a routine where anything not “productive” is inherently bad for her. It’s not healthy in the slightest. The last thing about holly is that for black lives matter she posted on instagram stories “we are all racist” which I frankly find very bleeping offensive, as a white person with active anti-racist viewpoints I don’t believe in the slightest that everyone is racist. Shows how little she understands the issue, then puts out this message to her followers that is misguided and offensive.

Yes!!! I thought that as well. I think she got confused perhaps with the idea of white privilege and being ‘racist’.... I’m extremely anti-racist and would hate to hear someone say ‘we are all racist’. It sounds like a pathetic excuse for her lack of common knowledge on the world around her. If she bothered to actually watch some TV and integrate herself into the wider world she’d realise how odd what she said was.

And I agree with you on the book front! I’m no big reader but have plenty of books both about my subject at uni and other topics I find interesting!! The main times I read are on holiday when I have little access to internet, so I get the whole ‘I’m not a big reader’ thing, but the fact she’s made it into something to tick off a checklist is just ridiculous in my opinion.

Anyone seen her latest video? I feel like it's a failed response to this thread and us saying she doesn't know how to relax.

Spoiler alert: on a chill day she worked on uni applications, played the piano, did 30mins of yoga, shaved her legs, hovered and cleaned her room (all before lunch), did a spin workout and used her weights.

Also she eats shredded wheat with water????

Just watched the video....she really can't just take a day off can she? When she was reflecting at the end, she says 'I encourage you guys, if you are like me, if you are someone like me who feels bad when you take time off, please do it'...

As for eating plain shredded wheat in water, that just screams ED to me.

Definitely a response to this thread. But if she can address "having a day off" (kind of), then why can't she address the ED questions?

Holly, it's okay to have a sofa day!

i think she's scared that she'll end up binge eating or something - and thats why she has to constantly be doing something (distracting herself)

I think the ED questions are a bit more sensitive than the 'having a day off' questions. Let her get there in her own time, I think she's on the right track. And when you (potentially) have an eating disorder, you might not see yourself and your behaviour the way other people do. She'll get there.

She was also asking on her IG what people would consider a "nothing" day so I wonder if she's going to do more of these videos? I'm glad she's finally trying to take more days off but I wish she didn't make it seem like part of her job!

Yeah I replied saying nothing but hobbies if anything. I was going to elaborate and say what my hobbies so she can't construe a spin bike session and yoga workout as a hobby but I didn't have enough characters

I’ve said this before but I think her videos are slowly becoming responses to the threads she reads, whether that be here or GG. Like I’ve said, it’s like she’s trying to prove to herself that she’s ‘worthy’ and can change her behaviour patterns successfully, as if ‘change behaviour patterns’ is something on her checklist.

she needs to realise that it goes deeper than just being able to take a day off and literally sit and watch TV/snack/sleep. She needs to actually be okay with that, not just tick it off some silly to-do list. Everything is about control, but a ‘do nothing’ day should be the complete opposite, ie. no control! Just chillout!

It’s gone past the point of relativity now. Holly needs to talk to someone professional. (Also notice how she’s stopped replying with ‘it’s all relative’ since it was brought up on the thread, mmmmm🤔🤔)

YES!!! I think her time is actually structured around her meals etc, and being upstairs and isolating herself means she doesn’t snack or just browse around the kitchen.

Also the fact she spoke about actually spending time with the family as if they never really did in the first place.... it really brings to light actually how little the family are together. Holly isolates herself in her room (so no wonder she overthinks everything, she never talks to anyone!). The whole isolating and never doing things as a family or just seeing each other and having passing conversations is so odd. I understand every family is different but as Holly said, she needs to get out of this habit of just always being in her room and in her own little imaginary world. Talk to people Holly!!! Not just on days off!!!!

Looked like she'd had more responses than that when she was doing her pros and cons. Did she only make 4 applications?
I think she did yeah.
To be honest I don’t even know if I’d be interested in seeing her do a masters. It’d just be like her undergraduate and I can’t see her getting involved in the world around her or building a group of people around her either.

I can just see her sitting in her accommodation, doing work, eating her boiled veg. She’d probably join another dance group to try and replicate cambridge. I just think she’s still stuck in her 18 year old mindset and it’s painful to watch

Also a master's is a massive step up from undergrad. I did mine full time and it was honestly one of the toughest years of my life because I had to work in a retail job alongside my studying to make ends meet. I hope she's prepared, because doing your own research project is very different to banging out an essay on a specific topic chosen by your lecturer.

Does anyone know what happened to her wanting to go to med school? I remember her talking about it and then all of the sudden it’s now nutrition?

She discussed it after she got rejected from her interview for cambridge grad medicine and said she ‘took a step back and realised it wasn’t for her’ and that ‘it was a sign’..... think she just got disheartened because she’s not used to the rejection tbh. But yeah.... guess she just decided not to!

And yes!! I just watched a video by Alicedoesphyscis (super lovely girl who’s just done a masters at oxford) and she was saying how one of the worst reasons you could choose to do any form of postgraduate study would 1. Be because you don’t want to leave uni and 2. Because you’re doing it to prove something to yourself or other people.

Both of those made me immediately think of Holly and the reasoning for her study. She does it mainly because she likes to be busy and I genuinely don’t think she knows what she really wants to do. She’s also always trying to prove herself worthy to her parents etc. Just seems like something to keep that school routine going tbh.

Essentially she got rejected from one application and then she decided against persuing medicine. I think it was good that she was rejected because she never had a passion for persuing medicine. I think she thought that academically excellent = doctor material. I also remember her saying that she'd want to go into holistic medicine rather than working for the NHS which is a big yikes
