One rest day probably is enough if you’ve got enough gentle runs in, but it looks like she’s pushing herself every day which is not good at all.
It’s also the fact she not only does those runs, but also does workouts in her room ontop of that. Even on her rest days she’ll do a ‘light workout’. She just can’t help herself. She can’t stop herself from being busy. She literally can’t even spend 15 mins ‘in her own head’ because (as she said) she ‘doesn’t like what goes on up there’..... hello??? Red flags?!!?

woah i know some people are naturally flat chested but she is like a 7 year old there is no way she has ever gone through puberty she has no womanly features, she needs a hormone test asap ! I think she needs to use her £43 per hour income and book a place in some private rehab centre

Plus she's just starting out running. Most people who run that volume/consecutive days slowly make their way up to it.

As someone who has a medical issue that caused me not to go through puberty and the mental strife I went through because of it this is something that I'm sensitive to. We most likely know the cause of Holly's appearance but because of the sheer hell I went through I generally think commenting on someone's appearance in this way isn't constructive?

Yes I agree with you on this one.... calling Holly out in that way just isn’t constructive in any way. I’m sure there is an underlying reason why Holly didn’t go through puberty fully or properly, besides the eating, at least that’s what she indicated. If that is the case, then there’s no reason to be so blunt/mean.... 😕

Here's a question for you all. Do you ever think in Holly's current state, she'll ever seek/get professional help? Or do you think she's so high functioning she'll go many more years without?
I know in her video where she talked about having difficulty being in her own head she liked a comment someone posted suggesting therapy, but the question is will she follow through with that? Even talking to someone about mental health will eventually lead to discussions about her restictive diet and obsessive exercise which can only be a good thing

I think in her current mental state, no, she won’t get help. After going vegan she convinced herself she was ‘cured’, without ever actually addressing that an eating disorder, while it affects your eating, is primarily a mental disorder. While there’s less eating issues than when she was 18, the mental issues behind it are still there.

Holly hasn’t worked through any mental/processing issues which arose in her teens. It’s a prolonged issue for sure. I agree with you on the ‘high functioning’ thing. She’s living life, being busy, so why would anything be wrong right? She’s eating, doing exercise etc, great!! But underneath that surface I think she’s still that 17/18 year old girl, struggling to relate to the world around her, unable to really make any deep connections with anyone.

I’m 100% sure she feels pretty lonely... wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. She spoke about having a social life at uni a while back but didn’t actually have a real social life at all. It’s all work work work, and there’s no processing, no wind down. It’ll take something drastic to make her realise she’s not okay. If she’s reading this thread like she did the GG one, she must realise something isn’t right, especially when she’s constantly deleting comments about it all.

My guesses are :
1. She will seek therapy but won’t make it public because obsessive “productivity” is her “brand”

Or

2. She will make a big video addressing mental health and her journey

I agree with the poster who said Ruby is also displaying worrying obsession with exercise. So sad to see in both cases.

I really can’t see Holly making a video talking about mental health in depth tbh. She said she wouldn’t really open up to friends in school and would bottle everything up and eventually cry to her mum/sister about stuff. She still does that today.

if she can barely open up to her family about what's going on in her head I highly doubt she’ll put it on the internet for millions to see. If she does, it’ll be a very tailored version

idk ruby and holly are slowly morphing into one person so since ruby did it i think its plausible.

How can her parents not think she needs some help? Mine forced me to the GP when they found me having a panic attack, how can they not intervene?

Idk her mum was a dancer and I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t think there was anything wrong with Holly’s relationship with food. The whole mental issues thing though, I have no idea. Can be scary as a parent sure but that should be incentive to help your child... holly is 22 though sooo

Ruby has been going to therapy for years now. I really don’t think they’re the same at all, Ruby is honest with herself about her mental health, Holly lies to herself and pretends everything is ok. Ruby is growing with university, Holly hasn’t. Ruby is also, what, 2 years younger than Holly? And in my view, is far more mature and realistic. Anyway, this thread is about Holly!! 🙂

I think the best we can hope for is for her to really take into account the concerned people on the GG thread and the one on here and move beyond trying to justify her issues with food and exercise and acknowledge that she isn’t really recovered. I know if she would have sought out professional help for anorexia though they likely wouldn’t have let her go on a vegan diet to start out with considering how restrictive it already is.

I also doubt she would see a therapist, I don’t think she thinks she has any problems but any kind of criticism or bringing up of her diet clearly bothers her enough to go through and censor comments and she has made a conscious effort to check the GG thread so it does strike a nerve. She is very insecure as a person, and mentally young as it has been said.

Her parents have never been supportive and she is an adult so there isn’t much they could do anyway beyond finding a time to talk to her. I no longer watch her regularly, she doesn’t need the views. I liked her Australian vlogs but after she had to go to the hospital from overexertion and noticed how toxic her always-productive, must-exercise/go on runs mindset is I lost a lot of interest.

Also, eating disorders can take years to fully go away and without a strong support system (which Holly does NOT have), it makes it 10 times harder. Honestly taking a bit of a break from social media would be good for her. I do want the best for her and hope that she's able to find people she's comfortable around and can be honest with her as she chooses to continue her education.

I don't think so. As someone who raised raised in a household very open to discussing mental health etc (mother is a counsellor) I've even struggled to get myself to help if I need it. So if I deal with that hurdle I can't imagine what it would be like for others in a far less open environment.

i didnt realise she was actually on crutches, how stupid of her to exercise on a damaged injury then potentially needing to rely on the NHS at this current time to treat something which is self inflicted, Holly is a very selfish person i cant believe she is a 22 adult. I work with a few 21/22/23 year olds and they are so much more mature than Holly.

I do wonder though if Holly's poor relationship with her parents or at least which she attempts to display is because her parents are encouraging her to seek support or have commented on her restrictive obsessive habits and what to help her but Holly disagrees there is a problem so there is tension there.

Do you not think this is a bit out of order? She's a dancer with a history of anorexia, do the math.

I agree with the statement about taking time off from social media. I think the pressures of having to post to a large audience, while also being surrounded by other "perfect" influencers must be really damaging to someone with okay mental health, I can only imagine the pressures Holly must subconciously put on herself. And I think one example of this is her putting pictures of her abs in so many thumbnails, it just shows the obsession unfortunately

Definitely! I think it’d be super good for her to take some time off and clear her head. The only thing is she’d probably view that as a ‘failure’ or ‘not being productive’, so who knows.

I wonder if the constant mention and focus on body hair is her desire to be perfect constantly but then i guess she makes no effort with the rest of her apperance so that makes no sense.
I noticed she keeps going or runs in a long sleeve top and long leggings when its June and quite warm, i live in north and most runners are in tshirt/vest and shorts maybe its because she has ED has a common sign is always been cold
