Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Even if Holly (and highly, highly unlikely but for argument's sake Angelo) make it to the Elite 15, what then? This can't continue forever, and I doubt they're going to get sponsorship because they have 3k subscribers on YouTube. I don't even really know who the audience is for this stuff as if you want Hyrox content (which is niche in itself), I imagine there are other YouTubers you can watch.

When they're in their 30s, what will then do then? Holly's never had a real job and it will be nigh on impossible to go back to anything scientific without further study as she's been out of it for almost 5 years already, which is an age in those terms. I imagine they'll be fine because they both clearly come from privileged backgrounds, but I wonder what the long-term end goal is here.
The comments about hyrox basically being designed for social media are very true

Her deleting her instagram is so odd. Surely if she wanted to move her audience to their account she would announce it and ask people to move?

I don’t think she’s deleted it, I think Instagram has suspended it, I couldn’t tell you what for, but she isn’t that stupid to just delete it without saying anything

Amy idea what it could be deleted for?

She says in response to a comment on Youtube that she got hacked and her account is suspended. Did wonder if it could be for buying followers etc - maybe.

It's kind of amazing when this is literally their only current way of generating revenue that they haven't posted anything on Angelo's account? He just hasn't posted any obviously AI generated content in about a week, so his account isn't being used for anything at the moment.

She said she has big news to share for someone who quit her job to go all in on her next Hyrox Holly episode. I wonder if she got a sponsor.

Insta back, sort of not shocked she fell for a phishing scam- I mean yeah happens to the best of us but come onnnn Hollyyyyy😭🤣

I'm assuming it was a phishing scam related to a brand deal or agent or something of that sort. Even as a private low follower account my account sometimes has people and/or bots reach out pretending to be a brand offering some kind of reward.

But do you fall for that? Seems crazy for me to fall for a scam at her age

I feel like I'm a bad person to ask because I've never attempted to be an influencer and my profile is private, so I have no reason to believe a brand would ever reach out to me whereas Holly is trying to get her 3rd youtube channel off the ground and claims she didn't even have enough money for a flight to worlds. I also think it's crazy that she would've fallen for that kind of scam but the entire premise of this hyrox venture is crazy especially right after they bought an apartment and yet here we are.

I keep thinking about how bleeping weird the framing of this comment is. The poster makes valid points about the viability of the endeavour, but why does it have to be "pro-social"?! Plenty of people spend their careers and free time doing things that aren't "pro-social". Would you say to an Olympic sprinter that their aim to be the fastest in the world at their sport is navel-gazing and anti-social?! Such a weird thing to say to somebody who is trying to become elite at their sport.

I think comparing Hyrox to being an Olympic level athlete is incredibly disingenuous. "Elite at their sport" when the sport is a fad for influencers which will inevitably die out in a few years. They've hit the nail on the head that there is no long-term vision here. They're not training to be coaches or getting other qualifications. When they're in their 30s, they're both going to be pretty unemployable in their current state.

I think they are training to be coaches. Holly's linkedin used to have something like aspiring hyrox coach as the headline and even now it hints at that as the goal. Personally, I would not accept training from someone like Holly even if she were to podium at worlds because she doesn't have any qualifications in nutrition or exercise science/kinesiology and she has a history of making poor decisions for her own health

I think it's quite strange framing too. I wouldn't say most careers or endeavours are pro-social, and while I find this hyrox detour bizarre, the fact it's not pro-social enough isn't really a factor in my finding it bizarre.

Who would hire a coach who has no PT training or qualification? If I went to my local gym and she gave this spiel I wouldn't hire her
