Just had an email from gousto saying they are bringing in a 1.99 delivery charge.

I don't mind too much but I just would prefer them to up the price of the box as a whole and delivery be "free". Especially as there is no option to get it slower/cheaper or collect it etc.

So to me it would make more sense for delivery to just be included in the cost of the box
If they charged £1.99 and let you opt for DPD Id be happy. Would not be happy paying £1.99 for Yodel 😒

Mine was delivered by Evri yesterday!! I don't want to pay 1.99 for hermes!! Regardless of what they have rebranded themselves as

Agreed. I used to opt for a Sunday delivery to get DPD 🙈 back when it was Yodel Mon-Sat but theyve swapped to Evri now

Just seen this on an email from gousto.

I am not looking forward to this change one bit.

Can guarantee the husband will use the wrong ingredients and I bet it leads to an increase in incorrect/missing ingredients ☹

Still waiting for a discount code to tempt me back to Gousto 😩
Try going on to the website and logging in then browsing the meals, this sometimes works with shopping sites. Places like vista print and buyagift.com pretty much always send a code after a logged in browse.

Hmm we usually get HF but last summer we got a gousto one week instead for a change and it was like this, no individual bags everything was together. I thought that was how they did it and It was really annoying. It rather takes away a large part of the convenience aspect which is what you’re paying for

Thats my issue! If I wanted to pick out the right bits etc I would just use my own spices hahaha

For me it is the convenience of everything being in one place and weighed out that makes it worthwhile. My husband can cook but won't. He has zero confidence in the kitchen and is a lazy bugger!!! But gousto makes it easy for him to make a couple of dinners a week.

I just know this change will put him off. He will use the wrong ingredient and then it will knock his confidence and he will basically refuse to make them again

A niggling complaint I have at the moment is that they (hello fresh) seem incapable of correctly scaling up some ingredients for 3 person meals. It’s mostly for seasonings. So to give an example (and this is not the only one) we had a Thai beef/pork bowl with rice, can’t remember which meat it was. The 2 person recipe called for 2 spice sachets, and the 4 person for 4. You would think this means the 3 person recipe would have 3 sachets of spice, but it had 2, the same as the 2 person despite the rest of the ingredients being 50% more. This meant it was really bland and I had to add some of my own seasonings. I’ve fed this back through the feedback facility but I wonder how much notice they actually take of that.

We had our first gousto box this week after using hello fresh for ages.. have to say I’m a bit disappointed! The whole all ingredients in a bag is a pain, especially when some of them aren’t obvious what they are because the printed edge of the packet missed the ingredient name, and the recipes are a bit meh. Will use our discount then back to HelloFresh for us

I received my first Gousto box yesterday. Got a free wooden spoon with it. I have to say though the veg doesn't seem very fresh. The potatoes look like they're starting to sprout and my pepper had a soft bruised bit on it. I chose a spaghetti bolognaise and the portion of mince looks TINY. Granted I don't eat mince, so it is only for my bf but it's supposed to be enough for 2 and I'll be shocked if it's even enough for him alone. I don't think I'll be continuing the subscription tbh. Even the chicken breasts for a stir fry which are supposed to serve 2 are actually just 1 chicken breast cut in half!

I do agree the portions of meat are small. But I think it is more we are accustomed to bigger portions than them being too small.

Chicken breasts in supermarkets are huge. You buy a 950g pack in tesco and it is 4 breasts. That's not normal. A few years ago that would have been at least 5 or 6 breasts. When a recipe calls for 4 chicken breasts you don't need nearly a kilo of them.

The mince is 250g which is a portion for 2. 125g is a recommended portion size 🙈

Never been humbled more than seeing the calories in a Gousto meal and realising its what I should be eating. I find the pasta and rice dishes generous but the potato dishes stingy.

No wonder Im overweight 😭 as I dont eat badly, its definitely portion size that kills it for me 😂
