2.5 million of tax payers money to do up frogmore cottage!!! Absolutely disgusting
I know. Makes me so cross. And that apparently is a very low estimate just for basic structural work - not including decorating the place. Or no doubt landscaping the garden. Why can't Harry bloody pay for it himself? I don't ask him to pay my rent. And aren't they planning to spend a good deal of their time abroad supposedly in South Africa? They want to avoid the pesky plebs but are quite happy to take their money.2.5 million of tax payers money to do up frogmore cottage!!! Absolutely disgusting
Exactly!! Meanwhile our police force is being cut left right and centre, not to mention the nhs. It's just not on is it as you say they have enough bloody money to pay it themselves. I'd rather not have know they used tax payers money tbh as that money could have been better used elsewhere for some good to make a difference!!I know. Makes me so cross. Not meaning to cause a row but why does it make you cross?I know. Makes me so cross. And that apparently is a very low estimate just for basic structural work - not including decorating the place. You don’t ask him to pay your rent. True. but you don’t also bring in millions of tourists to the UK each year to watch your wedding and spend money in the UK whilst doing so.I know. Yes while I agree with fact they do bring in a lot of money for the country and do a lot for charity but if I had a choice where the tax payers money went it certainly would not be to renovate a house for a wealthy Prince. That's just my opinion. Not meaning to cause a row but why does it make you cross?
The royal family bring far more money into the country and economy than you pay in tax, via tourism alone. We can hardly stick them into a council house can we. I honestly wouldn’t get so worked up about it.
The cost of keeping the Royal family costs each uk citizen around £1 per person, per year. (Off the top of my head)
Millions of tourists from abroad travel to see Buckingham palace, Tower of London, etc etc and whilst doing so spend money on memorabilia as well as probably restaurants, drinks, other tourist attractions, transport etc etc etc putting millions into our economy.

As for nhs etc yes your right, we should start billing people that injure themselves when drunk etc and that might put a massive stop to people behaving foolishly and also put some money back into the nhs.
I couldn't care less where they live but can you please explain why they can't pay for the house themselves? Harry has over £25m. Can you not see that taxes could be put to far better use? I don't think them paying their own way would dent the amount of tourists coming over. I just don't see why generating money means you should get stuff for free paid by ordinary citizens. If that were the case we should pay for Manchester United players homes (for eg) as MU brings in such a vast amount of money to the country. Not meaning to cause a row but why does it make you cross?

Does trump pay for the upkeep of the White House??I couldn't care less where they live but can you please explain why they can't pay for the house themselves? Harry has over £25m. “Substantially all fixtures and fittings were paid for by Their Royal Highnesses.” https://www.itv.com/news/2019-06-25...-renovation-paid-for-with-2-4m-from-taxpayer/I know. Makes me so cross. It's not really an explanation, but Frogmore, Buck Pal, Kensington Palace are all owned by "the Crown" - so Harry/Meg, the Queen, Will/Kate don't really own the residences they live in. That's why it's the taxes that go towards it.I couldn't care less where they live but can you please explain why they can't pay for the house themselves? Harry has over £25m. No idea if Trump pays for upkeep on the WH - probably not - but I'm fairly sure the American public don't pay for the upkeep of his private residences and those of his family.Does trump pay for the upkeep of the White House??
Let them pay for their own houses etc and close every single one of them off from the public, not allow the public anywhere near royal occasions like weddings etc, not allow any souvenir tack to be sold with their faces on etc... I bet the economy would lose more money that way.
As I said I wasn’t here to row and ‘tax payers money could be spent on the nhs’ etc I don’t disagree with. We should be targeting the super rich who avoid taxes via expensive schemes and companies such as Starbucks imo.
US citizens living out of the country are supposed to pay tax, so with all the marching she does, the IRS would have a field day. US citizens have to fill out a tax return every year, unlike the UK.I know this a different era and a different nation but I know Grace Kelly retained her US citizenship and links with USA after marrying into Monaco's royal family so I wonder if it wouldn't cause tax issues etc. if Meghan Markle retained her US citizenship?
Bloody hell! I've seriously lost count on how many people have resigned since May last year! 5, 6?! It really makes you wonder what goes behind closed doors, but like you said, it really must be unbearable!Ooh so widely reported 2 nannies have already quit and they are now on the third. Archie is only 6 weeks old. If true it is bizarre as you would think that job is so prestigious you would cling on to it unless conditions were really appalling.
Sounds like the White HouseBloody hell! I've seriously lost count on how many people have resigned since May last year! 5, 6?! It really makes you wonder what goes behind closed doors, but like you said, it really must be unbearable!
