Honestly sometimes I think folks online can't win (and listen I love a rant about them as much as the next person). If she was saying everything was rosy and great, people would be critiquing her for having no awareness of how difficult it can be, setting unrealistic expectations, being out of touch etc. But she talks about realities and difficulties (without conflating her struggles and those of people less privileged) and that's not okay either? Parenting is hard, retiring to work is hard, running a business is hard, affording to live and balancing making sure people on your payroll can live is hard, it's okay to say that, and for you to not be resenting your child or ignoring your privilege.
I agree with this. Parenting is hard for anyone, and as a person planning to balance a child and busy career, seeing a realistic picture of how she and her partner manage the work-parenting balance really helpful. I don't quite get why no one's mad at her for complaining about having a stoma when she's more privileged than others who might have one, but when it's pregnancy and motherhood, the privilege is suddenly a big part of the picture? Hannah is always good about acknowledging her privilege, too.

At least personally, I'm not going to criticize Hannah for anything to do with her stoma because she didn't choose to get sick. Whereas she chose to have a child. I can't speak for anyone else, but that's the distinction for me.

With all due respect, that's a really stupid comparison.
Having a disability isn't a privilege in any way, regardless of how it may be worse. A person in a wheelchair isn't more privileged than someone in a wheelchair with no legs.

Complaining about motherhood when you're minted with tons of additional help screams privilege. You chose to be a mother, and you know your income is over $50K a year, whilst most people are in poverty and single mums don't earn even a fraction of that. Like stfu

Privilege bleh.

It’s a stick to beat ourselves with, often. And it’s a mug’s game. I’m a woman so I’m less privileged than a man; i’m a Jew so i have more privilege than a Muslim but less than a Christian? I’m bisexual so I have more than a lesbian but less than a straight women.

you could tie yourself up in eternal knots and just sit in stasis for fear of acting in a way that disrupts this delicate web of privilege and oppression.

he looks like Steve Buscemi.
Hannah posted a photo of her and Dan when he had short hair… I actually couldn’t believe it was him. He looked so much better 😅 Fair enough, have long hair as a man (it’s your choice) but at least wash it and brush it. It’s not like he can use having a baby as an excuse because Hannah seems to do the majority of the parenting duties. While she’s feeding the baby, he could be having a shower instead of playing a game 😕

Ususally I think shorter heair looks better but when I saw those photos Hannah posted I thought Dan looked better with long hair (especially when it's tied up like it was for their wedding). Internally I was thinking "what is wrong with me?" 😂

i did watch the 24 hours with a newborn and dan's night routine seemed so much kinder than hannah's. watching it her choppy sleep made me so anxious and he just got to play games and come into bed at 12 and just sleep through to the morning? as someone else said it is just a snapshot of their relationship but i expected the split to be more obvious. :(

I think it's quite hard to split it when breastfeeding though? Unless Hannah were to pump lots in advance, but feeding/pumping at night time is meant to be better for supply. And he could get up with her but some people would argue that there's no point both of you being horrendously tired. My partner would go and make up bottles of formula while I comforted our son, and we'd change nappies together after feeding, but I can see how when breastfeeding it's not so straightforward to do.

30 exactly!
Yep, she looks permanently dehydrated 👀
You're at an increased risk of becoming dehydrated if you have a stoma because the large intestine, which is either removed or unused plays an important role in helping absorb water from food waste.

Only just started watching Hannah ( birth/newborn vlog ) wow she speaks really oddly. The heavy ’g’ at the eng of ing words throws me off and she speaks really stilted. Also they both seem peed off about the fact babies cry.

She always sounds as if she’s trying to be deeply ironic when saying regular stuff.

Yeah I can't handle the videos because of the ridiculously long pauses between words. Even on 1.25 speed its only just manageable. I think people have said its because she's reading off a script?

Watching her new video and the random zoomed in shots are so irritating. Constantly jumping. This is the first time I’ve noticed this 😂 also does she literally just get info from Google, stick it in a script, and recite it? I can’t remember what, if any, credentials she has to be “educating” people

I've noticed the weird zooms more and more recently, I am fairly certain she mentioned Bethan edits her videos nowadays?

Does Bethan have a thread, whatever happened to her? Has her music taken off ?
She always seemed nice !

It's maths day again!

920 patreons on minimum £3 tier = £2760/month or £33,120/year
920 patrons on maximum £8.50 tier = £7,820/month or £93,840/year

Patreon is 16.2% of her income this year
Therefore 1% = min £2,044.44 and max £5,792.59

Thus her annual income is somewhere between £204,500 and £579,250 after taking two months off with pregnancy and three months off with maternity leave and much as I like Hannah... damn, I'm in the wrong job. If she'd worked the full twelve months, that could have been £350k/£990k.

(But I did duck up the maths first time and give her an estimated max of £1.3m - it's not quite as bad as that!)

Not done too badly for somebody who doesn't have experience for a lot of stuff they're talking about and has an extremely annoying style of delivery.

OMG... I like Hannah as well, but I had no idea an influencer (not a major one at that, she's pretty famous in some spheres but not worldwide Youtube famous) could make that much money! Good for her of course, but I wonder about creators having a Patreon when they already earn quite a lot through other means. It was my understanding Patreon was about supporting struggling people to create, giving them a financial stability their life does not allow, now it feels a bit like an easy way to make more money.
