I’m always so bloody late to the party, but can I say, god bless Jackie Weaver!! I haven’t laughed this much for a long time!! It was Alex’s I pad that did it for me, the “I’m taking over now” and the Gollum sounds, and did he really say “Here comes the subpoena!!”?? Absolutely brilliant!! 😂😂😂😂😂

I hope Jackie Weaver gets her spot on Strictly this year, the poor woman deserves it!! And, did anyone identify who “Julie’s IPad”?yet?? I did hear that Cyn, Jackie Weaver, Sue, and Julie are pitching for a guest spot on Loose Women!! 😆

I have just caught up with this. It is bloody hilarious, they have made themselves a laughing stock. 😂 I bet they’re too embarrassed to open the front door. 😂

I've only just caught up on all this, what a treat! I love how Jackie seems to be so tech/social media-savvy. I had the 'pleasure' of working with local councillors when I worked in Electoral Services and Chief Execs at a regional council. This video is an entirely accurate representation of what these people are like...the men in particular! It is such a misogynistic, nepotistic environment to work in and they have such high opinions of themselves. It really wound me up how they were allowed to change party as often as the wind changes direction too. When the Lib Dems were having their heyday, they were all LibDem, then they all became Independent when LD crashed and burned. Then some changed to Labour, some to UKIP and now they're all independent again. It was so cringe.

Noticed earlier someone had uploaded the best bits of the meeting immediately before this one. As you can imagine it's a complete mess with Jackie kicking Tolver out again, Aled getting all pissy over seemingly anything and Sue hilariously shutting down someone mid rant.

My aussie family said it is gaining traction over there as well, https://junkee.com/jackie-weaver-ha...Pg6r4VjijBaGzbhcBo-l1DX9252U2K9ZidPqc07pgJszs

I love the line in the article: "Yet, despite having “no authority”, Jackie Weaver used her authority and booted the chairman out of the meeting. And while on 30 seconds long, the short clip is easily not only the most British thing ever, but the most chaotic Zoom call on record."

Is this what the British are known for?!

I don't know anyone involved in parish councils. I'd say to be defined by something it would have to be something much bigger than rural bust up. This story will be next months chip paper.

All we keep saying to each other at home is "you have no authority here", amuses us no end 😆
Told my dad (whose meme culture is admittedly lacking) that he had no authority to switch the TV channel whilst we watched something. Didn't get it, reacted in Aled's iPad fashion.
My amusement is at a peak I swear 🤣

Does anyone else think the obsession with Jackie weaver is getting a bit much now? Admittedly I find it all very funny and I loved the video but people are now making mugs, nail art, merchandise etc etc and she’s supposedly a Tory voter 😂

last week she didn’t have social media and now she’s on all platforms milking it

I don’t know why I’m kind of uncomfortable but she’s been propelled up to some massive pedestal (kind of like what’s been happening with Captain Tom but not as big) and then the British people will be amused by something else in 5 mins

The council has spent 85k investigating the meeting and found nothing 🤦‍♀️. If they'd have been smarter and used a company to licence out the video they could have made net profit of hundreds of thousands for the council 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

  • Jackie Weaver's meeting in December 2020 cost Cheshire East Council £85k
  • She was centre of row between two factions fighting for control of town council
  • Cheshire East Council concluded no formal findings made against any councillor
