IMO that public attention would be better used giving the same safety net to the aid workers in Gaza that are at very real risk daily than a political game (at best) that will achieve a few grumbles at best by the very same groups or parties that have been grumbling all along

I don’t think it's fair to dismiss public outrage as just “grumbling.”
Seven World Central Kitchen aid workers were deliberately targeted and killed in what was described as a “precision strike.” That wasn’t a random risk, it was a direct hit on people delivering food.
Innocent journalists and paramedics have already been bombed while doing their jobs. Not even refugees in supposed safe zones have been left alone. This is a crisis demanding accountability.
Yes, supporting aid workers on the ground is essential. but part of that protection comes from also holding those responsible to account and raising awareness which Greta has done.
I don't see it as an either/or situation, we can care for those at risk and still demand justice for those already lost.

Doubt that many every day people have dug in to the story enough to find out things like the boat was carrying ~5 tons of random aid, or that there were 11 other people on it, or that the organisation whose name it was in has existed for several years not a few weeks.
So fair enough, she got me to look into things a bit more, which is a win I suppose, but I doubt that many will have bothered, I did find it quite difficult for instance to find out that the cargo was 5 tons and what the cargo was, I had to ask Grok some quite precise and determined questions to find that out.

Both Turkey and Spain and Amnesty International have been clear in their position throughout the war, so yes in the grand scheme of things they are unfortunately grumbles
To change anything around this conflict you need Israel’s allies to take a stronger stance against them and this mission hasn’t achieved that or seemingly has come close to achieving it

I mean tbh Greta actually done something very clever by going on that aid boat to Gaza, she knew by going there the people she was travelling with would be "safe" to an extent because the world was watching for Gretas sake. That then brought media attention to what's been happening in Palestine, the war crimes Israel have been committing and the blockage of aid reaching Gaza.
Love her or dislike her, make fun out of her etc but how many "celebs" say they support Palestine but they don't actually do too much to show that support? How many of them do you see hoping on a boat to get aid there? Greta was ready to die for the cause (we all knew she wouldn't be killed but still).

I would have been more impressed of she actually stayed in Israel and gone to trial like five of her ship mates who refused to sign the deportation orders have done. Her shipmates would have been safer/ treated better if they had stuck together. It was a flash in the pan PR stunt for her. she signed her deportation order and was out of there,so she achieved nothing. I haven’t seen any extra aid being let into Gaza as a consequence of her, no mention on the news. I just hope the others on the boat are okay.

No I don't have exact numbers. A lot of the illegal war crimes israel have carried out simply have not been reported by mainstream media, a lot of people online and in person don't know how bad things are over there. Greta getting on that boat, whether it was for pr for herself or not, brought attention to the illegal crimes israel have been committing and mainstream media therefore had no choice but to factually report on it without playing on words which therefore brought it to the attention of the public.
Let's not be cheeky about things, it's a literal fact that mainstream media does not report on a lot of what goes on in the world.
This is such a stretch simply because Gretas whole thing was bringing attention to the blockade of aid which if you follow just the headlines has made news previously several times. The blockade itself would make news every so often prior to the war as well
This wasn’t really a stunt to bring attention to the truly horrible tit IDF has done, though there’s some argument in international law that Israel’s blockade is illegal from what I understand. I’m sure Israel’s lawyers have some legal reasoning or other to pull out of their a for it, and if you’re a decent person I’m not sure if your notion of what is good and bad relies on whether international law deems it bad anyway
I don't think it is a stretch though because although people are aware of a war, they aren't aware of the war crimes being committed. There's no way that the media could have really spun what happened with Greta and her fellow aid workers without pointing out that israel were in the wrong for doing what they did to them. In doing that, it's raised more of an interest in the general public which has made more people look in to things and see israel in a different way.
People can have their own opinions on it all though and I'm not here to argue with anyone
