They played right into Israel's hands for PR

-Guide them away from evil Hamas
-Hand out fresh sandwiches and water to the silly little sailors
-Quick educational video on what Hamas has been up to the last few years
-Medical check for them all as they've had a tough journey in their little boat
-Fly them all home with a wave and a smile
yeah they played right into their hands and it’s more beneficial for Israel than it is for Pro-Palestine as I doubt this will change anyone’s mind massively whereas Israel can stick it to the doubting Zionists or whoever they are trying to appeal to

Apparently not all of them signed the deportation orders and some are or were waiting for a judicial review (or some other review) of the matter

Well if the Doom Goblins intervention was supposed to “change the narrative” or whatever fancy title you want to give to what are essentially clicks on social media it doesn’t appear to have much legacy milage as the “narrative” at the moment is the missile exchange between Israel and Iran. And the viral video is the bombing of the ranty Iranian newsreader which was objectively funny and is destined to become the Iranian regimes Comical Ali moment. “We are winning, Israeli’s are dying, god is great” (Bang, duck, run God is not so great anymore).

Greta’s job is to convince the world that Hamas and the Iranian regime are the good guys. Good luck with that.

Funny how concern for actual civilians gets dismissed the moment it’s framed as a joke.

With Israel, the new normal is bombing hospitals, refugee camps, and now media offices then brushing it off as “defence.”

As for Greta’s role, she isn’t out here auditioning for any roles. She’s drawing attention to international law, civilian suffering, and the global double standards we’re all meant to ignore. Guess it’s easier to mock her than face the inconvenient truths she highlights.

Selective memory helps, I suppose, in your version of events. But one good thing social media has done is lift the veil on Israeli propaganda. People can see for themselves.

Israel started this round with Iran with air raids and the targeting of Iranian intelligence leadership. That part just tends to get left out.

The bombing of the TV studio has started a wildfire of reaffirming of support.

That's not her job at all. Greta and others were doing it to highlight the genocide in Palestine as well as the war crimes committed by israel. The Iran issue is a whole other topic and nothing really to do with the conversation we're having.
I could be wrong, probably am, but I feel this is going off topic in to something else and as I said further up, I'm not here to argue with people. Imo Greta did more good than harm with this, your opinion is different and that's OK. There's nothing else to really say here now.

I've noticed she keeps popping up on my i player at the moment. I think it's a film about her life and there's also some new series. I guess she's still going full steam ahead. Had no idea her parents were famous, thought she did start it all on her own LOL. But I never looked into it to be fair. It must be stressful to be so angry all the time, hopefully she's now a bit of a balance now the initial hype has died down.
Didn't you hear the conspiracy that Greta is behind Covid so that people would stop travelling on planes and driving??? lolol.... just kidding.

Numbers of what lol
Well you state as fact lots of people don't know about Gaza particularly those who follow MSM, which is bizarre as MSM has been reporting on it almost daily for over a year. For example

So what percentage of the population did Greta's escapade reach? Do you have figures, rough estimates, educated guesses, or even a figure pulled out of you ass? Anything?

Israel has already killed over 50,000 in Palestine and it can try to bomb its way through everything with Iran, but justice, resistance, and the fight for dignity will never vanish just because one side has more missiles.

Everyone keeps calling her a kid but she's an 18yo masquerading as a 12yo. Serious Baby Jane vibes.
(y)(y)(y):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I can just imagine her singing “I’ve Written A Letter To Daddy.”
Based on Greta’s recent chanting, “stick your climate crisis up your arse,” there is a good argument that she’s like the Baby Jane character, particularly the scene when Elvira challenges Jane over locking Blanche in her bedroom!

Nah only four (including Thunberg) opted to sign the deportation papers and be flown back to Europe. 8 others have chosen to stay and have their day in court.

Her heart is absolutely in the right place. Her understanding of the issues is probably deeply flawed. She’s undoubtedly a reflection of her parents views and at the moment she’s a lightning rod for both sides and is probably doing her cause as much harm as good.

That's not true though as when it happened it was on headlines.
Like I said, pr stunt or not, it still brought attention to what was going on and raised an interest to the wider public if they so wished to follow things up afterwards, Google is available to all whether the following updates were headline news or not.
I'm not particularly bothered either way about Greta, I don't follow her so I'm unaware of anything previously she may have done to cause controversy or for pr, but I take my hat off to anyone who can try to deliver aid to palestine when they're up against a country like israel so I don't think she can be judged too harshly here.
The problem with this conflict from a public perspective has increasingly been that people move on quickly, so you have a “dedicated” group of activists that will keep it afloat in the publics minds

The only thing that has maybe been successful, and I would argue that’s a stretch, is the initial journey. Everything after that fell off super quickly. Google is available to all but that doesn’t mean that people will care enough to actually google and keep up with the issue. Really, this is the first time Palestine has fallen out of news in a long time primarily because of the developments with Iran

as an example - I keep up with Palestine here and there, I do my bit to support financially where I can. The journey to Gaza popped up on my TikTok, Twitter and Reddit without me looking for it. My algorithm is I’m undoubtedly in favour of news about the conflict. I have not seen any further update pop up and I don’t particularly care enough to search it.

If you’re not someone who cares about this to begin with and only see the headlines - which is really your target audience if you’re looking to further the cause - what has this achieved?

It’s also interesting that Egypt is hardly ever criticised on the blockade, though she did mention in an interview that there’s a march some time next week to Rafah crossing, though she didn’t even know the dates so it’s not particularly helpful to be raising awareness for
Yes starts tomorrow in Cairo and is expected to arrive at Rafah on Sunday where it will no doubt be turned back.

Come on Greta! She should know this stuff.
