Yeah, Nigella is a strange fit. But I'm not sure who else is put there. I still miss Mary. That era was the best GBBO era for me.

I guess Prues replacement for the celebrity version could be an option.

I still say Rav or Cherish if they want it

I'm going to go against the group here and say Nigella is a good choice. She's one of the biggest celeb chefs in the country and is of an age where she'll be respected by all.

Not to mention my husband might actually watch this with me now :ROFLMAO:

Nigella is great on Australian Masterchef - I can see how it might work!

I was going to comment on them not getting an older presenter, which i think has always been one of its strengths. But Nigella is 66!! 🤯

Paul will be in his element though working next to Nigella

Anyone else think a younger judge just doesn't seem right, especially after Mary and Prue. I know Nigella is 60+, but something about the older female judges that gives off a feeling of comfort. I think that's why GBBO is unique, especially the British one, because it has that comfy feel to it. It's a competition, but it doesn't necessarily feel that way when you watch it.

I agree and was going to post the same. Also older people dont get enough representation on TV as it is.

But at 66 Nigella is around the right age. She just looks younger.

I know it's not so easy to find older chefs and/or bakers, especially those who are accustomed to TV, but one name I'd like to throw out there to see what others opinions would be on her, is Rosemary Schrager

She would be good, but i wonder if her and Alison would be too similar personality types

I think they are struggling to find anyone older at this point. They need a woman, but they are probably struggling to cast the net that wide.

Nigella and Paul sounds horrific, can't see me wanting to watch the pair of them on things, Nigella's own programme is practically unwatchable as it is.

I was trying to think of some "older", female chefs/cooks who could fill the role. The only one I could really think of is Delia Smith, whatever happened to her? 🤔

There must be more possible candidates, I just can't think of them

Delia’s still around and kicking! She did a range of bakeware a few years back, I have a superb Swiss roll tin from her range. She is 84 now though so not sure she would want to take on a new telly role at this stage of her life.
