In the past Grace had said that she doesn’t really like portraying the image of a ‘professional baker’ and doing videos like someone above mentioned (ie getting technical etc) and I can’t blame her. Doing those things opens you up to so much scrutiny. If she did videos like that, she would get people blasting her in the comments saying she ‘said the wrong thing’ or what she said wasn’t ‘accurate’ so I’m sure she doesn’t want to come across like ‘she knows best’ because people would 100% pick her apart.

And yeah she’s said so many times that she’s more interested in the product development side of baking and that’s where she thrives. People on here mentioning how she’s not really that ‘skilled’ at baking just because she’s not a keen decorator is probably the very reason she doesn’t want to do in-depth baking videos. She knows people will pull her apart for it .

^^^ Agree with this 100%, and I fully support the content she makes.

If she started doing the 'professional baker makes ____' it wouldn't be true to her, and honestly there's so many baking channels that we can get content like that from -- I watch Grace's videos because I adore her personality.

Personally I don't see the issue with ad being lowercase, I really can't see what difference it makes? It's the first word which is good, rather than having it hidden at the end of the caption, and it's clear in black & white imo

It is blatant masking. Does it make sense to start a sentence with a lower case then add the next word with a capital? No. influencers do it on purpose. I mean it’s your choice not to have an issue with it, but it is done intentionally by them.

ad should always be written as AD, that’s the correct format of it.

That's what I mean though, she doesn't seem too technical! Fully agree it would be great to see her bake or cook more technical elements and explain it and progress!

She's used to industrial kitchens and big machines. There's a big difference between commercial and domestic baking.

Her oven at home is terrible. And she's previously said that whenever she bakes she gets people complaining about what she's doing, so she doesn't bother any more.

I get the impression someone’s been reading here. In her last video she said how she’d not been to the shops in a week. And made a point of mentioning it was for essentials (female hygiene) and I swear she’s never ever brought that up before.

Or, you know, you people just don't understand her recording / editing / release schedule and keep assuming she's doing stuff in lockdown when in reality she's doing it before lockdown.

I feel she is the sort you could see in the street, say hi to and she’d be completely shocked that anyone recognised her, she’s so sweet and down to earth. Seems like she’s got her head firmly screwed on!

I loved her video with her dad following the Bob Ross tutorial, it was nice to see their actual relationship rather than being played up for the camera (like imogenation and her weird dad).

I've spent a while lurking these forums for a couple of months now to vent about YouTubers I used to love and never visited the rave threads so very glad to see this one on the front page of the rave section. Grace produces such interesting creative content and comes across as a sweetheart who genuinely cares about others.

I do agree with some of the discussion on the previous pages that she's privileged and seems quite childish sometimes but honestly, it doesn't bother me much. We have enough influencers right now who want to show off a lifestyle and make hollow performative statements whilst doing little to nothing with their platform so it's nice to watch someone who is a genuine escape from reality, isn't trying to discriminate or get faux activist points (whilst not really giving a shit about anyone else), and just has interesting and quirky content.

I love Grackle, I was falling into a trap of watching channels I despise out of habit and then Grackle's tiktok recipes started playing. I was amazed she hasn't changed at all, her content is interesting, her honesty, her thoughts are refreshingly honest not a script from a #AD. I love the bond with her family, the respect they all seem to have for each other, the way Grace loves to cook, treat and spend time with them. It's so refreshing to see an online creator actually creating their own material and not following management direction to flog or promote something.

I think it sort of goes both ways: Yeah, lockdown has limited a lot of YouTuber's content range, so they put out content that feels quite odd, maybe a bit uninspired, maybe a bit childish sometimes (though I do like Grace's videos personally, they distract me from... well, lockdown).

But with everyone's interaction having been so limited this past year, I would venture a guess that the reason gossip threads for fairly unproblematic creators are taking off is also because we're all bored, have more time to pick things apart, and less time and occasion to engage in "normal" gossip - to complain to friends, share funny anecdotes, and talk to people enough to actually get into disagreements with them.

I completely agree-we've all got far more time on our hands and are expecting far too much from what is essentially just young people making some videos for fun.

I only started watching anything on youtube last year when I started working from home and had lunch hours to fill. I really loved Grace's back catalogue and I watched probably everything she did. I don't have a problem with her being quite childish, I've seen far worse in 20-somethings. Lots of things that suggest "maturity", like living away from your parents doesn't improve someone's capabilities or create more interesting content- look at ClickforTaz who I genuinely feel a bit concerned about given her lack of basic skills like the ability to eat to keep herself healthy, or EmmaRectangle, who has gotten terribly boring and repetitive and never gets videos up on her schedule and always seems miserable and complains about how much she has to do while not really doing anything?

She has a lot of motivation and social skills and that can carry you a long way when she does move out.

My only gripe really want how she went to Brighton for a nice day swimming in the sea with her friend when we were all being told to "stay local". I was also a bit miffed with all the trips to the supermarkets but it's not bad in the grand scheme, just thought it would be bonus content to see her plan things like that. Like, to see the thought go into "hey guys, I can't go to the supermarket every day to get stuff for my videos, so watch me plan, and then we'll go do one big shop".

Grace is unique as a YouTuber in that she makes me want to go to places that she goes to. That breakfast buffet place she went to in her video just recently, that looked like a heavenly breakfast I would love to enjoy. I am actually being influenced by an influencer.

What do people think of Grace being a bit immature for her age?
I think she seems like a sweet person and I enjoy the down to earth vibe she has in her videos.
Sometimes I can't believe she's 23 years old. I forgot that she’s in her 20s when I feel like she is much younger.
I wonder if being thrust when she was a teenager into the fashion world, which has a lot of seediness floating around it, made her regress into a child somehow? I will say that I’m glad that she’s out of that environment and doing what she loves but I wonder what she would have been like if she stayed. Modeling looks glamorous but in reality it’s mentally and emotionally draining. Not an enviable job.

My mum's a high school teacher and I foster teenagers. Our teenager had some of her 17 year old friends over last Christmas, and they were all in cargo capri trousers and crop tops, complaining it was cold, and literally screeching that someone they knew had, shock horror, kissed a boy! It was the kind of clapping "oh my gods!" my friends and I did when we were 13. By 17, we had jobs, many of my friends already had kids! I mentioned this to my mum and asked if this was just her friends or if this was all kids. She said that every year, the kids get another year immature. Some kids are doing their A-levels and don't know how to catch a bus. And that's true of most generations- I'm in my early 30s, and at 23, I rented a house with my fiance, was engaged, had an office job. But by 23, my mum was married, owned her house, and had already had me. Grace does seem very immature, but so do most of the people in their late teens and early 20s I know.

She is definitely a people pleaser. She never states her opinions and/or ideas on anything she is interested in just to avoid controversy (i.e. church, baking etc.). For someone in their mid twenties that makes her very childish and not fully formed adult. That really is something that puts me off lately. She doesn't seem like she is growing as a human, just being stuck in her teens world.

I think it's a little unfair to say someone isn't growing as a human when we only see the content they put out, especially during a global pandemic? She's said a lot that she doesn't like change, and she's a massive homebody, so all of this can be overwhelming no matter the age. We don't have to know everything about a person to enjoy the content that they create, and this separation between us as viewers, and her, is fair. Perhaps you've changed somewhat, and she is no longer your cup of tea? (Which is fine. <3)

I definitely agree with @opal73 above, it's daunting having a big platform and she shouldn't have to start a conversation on topics such as religion when they're usually very controversial. She obviously enjoys church, or at the very least the youth club she helps at, so I don't think she'd come straight out with a video criticising religion, or defending it. It's doesn't really seem to be her sort of thing.

She's freaking hilarious. Love that her videos are funnily edited, to the point and always about an interesting topic and she's not all about staring at herself/ how she looks but about the humor and family interactions ( also love that her family is in a lot of them, because I kind of don't have that and it's refreshing). She seems very intelligent and is not afraid to make a joke at her own expense and she's not selling out anywhere that I can see and I hope so badly that it stays that way. I hope that with the growth, she'll stay true to her style.

I don’t think the ‘loving Christmas’ thing is an act. Grace’s family obviously know her very well and they would see right through her if it was an act. They are not phased ever by her hyperness because they know that is just 100% her. Also, she genuinely gets emotional on vlogs because she loves it that much and regularly will say on a vlog, whilst sitting with her family, that she just cried from excitement etc. So they would hear her lying. I just think she really loves Christmas. She is a bit much but that’s just part of her charm.

I remember Grace saying on Valentines Day that she was the only one in her family to not have plans so I'm guessing Chloe has probably been with her fiance for over a year (which isn't a massive amount of time still but some very religious people get married after meeting once so its probably not as extreme as you all think)
