There is some irony that she denied that she was 'struggling to breathe' a few weeks back. I’m sorry, but her weight has everything to do with this complication.

In any case, here's hoping for a speedy recovery for both her and her baby boy.

My interpretation was that she was awake and lucid Christmas eve, most probably had a c section and met the baby, sent the tweets. Then the next day or even that evening deteriorated and was put in an induced coma.

But you're right the message isn't perfectly clear in terms of the timeline of it all.

Whatever the situation, regarding her size/health and her attitude. Her poor innocent baby deserves to have a mother! I hope she makes a full recovery and the baby is ok also. How awful.

ETA - she was admitted to intensive care on Christmas day, and gave birth the day before. So she was probably awake, conscious, but unwell.

She likely gave birth conscious but she must have been very unwell for them to induce her so early. I guess she soon deteriorated hence admission to intensive care. If she’s in an induced coma that means she’s on a ventilator. So it’s serious. So sad for them all, I hope she pulls through

And all this plus size magic and large phobia balls... and now this...

I don’t think now is the time for this kind of thing. We’re not doctors. It’s inappropriate.

It’s one thing to catch COVID but also having just given birth and then be put into a coma, her body is going to be exhausted and she could take months to recover! How scary for her family. I think we all knew her pregnancy definitely wasn’t low risk and that she would be lucky to have no complications but this is really sad. Luckily her baby will have no memory of this and she can bond with him for the rest of their lives when she is better

Without her weight, covid is a risk. Without her being pregnant, covid is a risk. The fact she caught a virus and was hospitalised while pregnant, probably causing her immunity to be low must have affected her ability to fight covid too.

I've gone all cold since reading it. I feel really strange..I hope so much that all is ok and it'll be on my.mind I suspect until we hear what is hopefully good news

I wish the best for her, I really do. I’ve been following her for years. and this just knocked me sick if I’m honest.

That’s true but her weight doesn’t help. It really does not help at all.

I can’t imagine how her family is feeling. Char isn’t well herself either and I bet Lee is beside himself.

I may be in the minority and I truly don't wish to offend anyone, but not to address it would be the elephant in the room. She's been in poor health, out of breath and chronically tired for years, Covid was the icing on the cake.

As long as no one is bashing her - and I'm sure we are all wishing her well - I don't see the problem in mentioning the obvious. She spent the entire pregnancy, complaining about ridiculous things (not being able to go on holiday), marginalising people who couldn't have children via her manifesting, and playing down the reality of a plus sized pregnancy. And this is someone who makes a living from her size and all that comes with it.

Such a sad situation, especially when there is a baby involved, luckily he has his father with him. I would like to ask that people do not make this about weight. Covid does not discriminate and those in intensive care are not always overweight. The weight will not help in her ability to fight this off but we cannot blame it on her situation at a time like this it’s not factual and is cruel and unnecessary. Grace is not in intensive care because of her weight she’s in there because she caught covid.

I never considered her additional risk from covid due to her weight and being BAME and how this could effect her pregnancy so I am quite shocked. I expected her to have some complications and maybe not be able to have the birth she envisioned but nothing like this. I’m sure she didn’t either.

Had she mentioned she had had covid for a couple of weeks? I don’t keep up with her much.

agreed. And this isn’t meant unkindly but we must remember she’s in a vvv high risk situation and there’s sadly a huge risk of death, so some things aren’t appropriate right now? :/ just in my opinion

Wow, this sounds truly awful. My friend’s father died 2 months ago from covid. He turned 60 last year but was overweight. They put him in a coma. He lost his battle after two weeks in hospital. Really praying for Grace, nobody deserves this

I do find it interesting she didn’t feel comfortable sharing that, as lots of people have shared online when they have been positive, wasn’t she out and about only like a week or so ago? So she can’t have had it too long before the birth.

I do feel for Lee, he must be scared.
