I really hope Grace uses this experience to highlight that not all births are perfect. I have a high BMI but otherwise healthy...that I know of and had a text book pregnancy...but went overdue and was induced...leading to emergency c section due to baby's ctg being suspicious...it took me months to properly bond. As I didn't feel my baby being born or even see him as he was resuscitated in a separate rllm for around half an hour...I never felt like he as mine at first. Took me months to bond and love him. And has put me off ever having another baby. I never felt that instant love...didn't enjoy the cuddles. Literally fed him and husband did everything else as i was in shock for a good few weeks. What made this all the more traumatic is that I had never ever heard of anyone discuss birth trauma before.. the only things I had ever heard about labour, babies being born etc is that instant love...etc...so it would really be good for her to not sugar coat this and actually be honest about her experience.
Birth trauma and PTSD is horrible...and my baby was 'fine'. Must be even harder of baby isn't fine.
P.s I had an emergency c section at 09 am on the Saturday and left hospital Sunday afternoon..but me and baby were both fine so may be different in Grace:s case.
I had a super high BMI of 48 but suspect Graves is quite a bit higher as she looks a lot bigger than me
