Why can't people just live within their means or save up ? I honestly do not understand these people's mentality that the world owes them a living. I am even more baffled by people that actually donate to this type of thing.

I am sympathetic to her illness but this is like a re-run of the James van der Beek situation.

Agree,but she hasn't been in it for 16 years and didn't do any TV work,he worked throughout,she has nowhere near the wealth he had,not defending it of course,as they still had more money/access to good health care than most.

Daughter was recently diagnosed with a form of cancer which it seems like she isn’t in serious danger from (surely she would post the positive side but oh no, not when there’s a GFM)
So she put a GFM, apparently because she will be out of work (didn’t have a job besides tt anyway)
Last I saw after about a week was it showing £8k I think. She posted yesterday with a caption about missing her July mortgage payment and that her car needs air con and another tt with her son taking up old carpets and she said they are getting the carpets replaced as they have had them over 10 years.
Bare in mind she announced the child had cancer and done the Gfm possibly the same/next day!

My understanding with an ill child requiring hospital treatment is the NHS covers your daily transportation/milage and meals, you fill out forms and claim the cash.
How does someone with 5 kids and no job get a mortgage? Doesn’t add up
I have just looked, it doesn't even specify what the money will be spent on,is this how easy it is to make 10k ? I don't use TikTok so I don't know the details of her life. I just find it truly disgusting people post sick kids,it just doesn't sit right with me at all. There's thousands of people in the same boat and deal with it privately. My mum was quoted something like £2k for insurance when she had stage 4 cancer but they were also told repatriation could be 10 times that so they scaled back the holiday a bit to pay for the insurance. When a trip abroad goes wrong and they don’t have any insurance they don’t even try to minimise costs by being cremated abroad….NO No it’s a high set GFM with all the trimmings
People will just take and take and there are way too many suckers ready to enable them.
Asking for help with medical bills is one thing, especially if American. I am super sympathetic to that.
But it just never seems to be enough for people once the donations start coming in and they suddenly need help with this thing, that thing, a million things that have nothing to do with their original fundraiser.
It doesn't half wind me up.
No details on how the young girl died or how her siblings were injured yet. I’m going to presume they had travel insurance being responsible for 3 kids abroad. GFM looking for 10k

Same, just privately cremate me and then go to the pub. I hate faff, I hate attention.
I'm not always convinced that it's someone who even knows the family that well. I remember a lady whose daughter went to school with my middle one, and she died of cancer aged 16. The family were amazing, carried on her blog for a while after and her Mum wrote so beautifully. Then someone set a fund raiser up "for" the family and they were horrified, it caused a real hoo ha on social media as the family didn't want handouts and wanted any donations to go for hospice/cancer charities. I felt so bad for them at the time because it was frankly the last thing that they needed.
Looking at the family’s social media, they are clearly pretty affluent. They aren’t the sort of people who don’t take out holiday insurance. And I can’t find much of a connection between them and woman who set up the gofundme.

An article has just popped up on my FB about a GFM for the family of the little girl who was murdered by her dad. It says the family (mum & the 2 boys) have lost everything. What happened to the house?? I have so many questions about this. The dad lived a very flashy life
There’s a person on TikTok who said she’s in 75k debt and repaying it by Christmas. First few videos it was detailing how she’ll pay it back. Then turns out the debt is actually with her parents as they paid it off for her. Then she’s on a considerable wage and is able to pay it off then lo and behold a GFM has been created and she keeps increasing the target. It was at £1500 and today it’s £3.5k. The way she did breadcrumbs with her sob story and saying she’d never ask for help to this. It was all strategic
Definitely start one. Seems to be working for her. We are in debt too and very tempting considering how generous people are
