Oooooops 😬😬
Eta - it kind of was in your control though 😂 at least the way it was handled initially
Absolutely that. He made a choice, then the BBC made a choice based on that. He made a complete fool of himself. If he had kept his fling quiet and off social media, he'd still have a job.

As a parent I also think that the BBC have made the right call here.
A few weeks ago we had noticed he had posted a photo of him visiting the team we supports football match and my little one asked to look at his photos. She doesn’t have insta or use it but I did let her have a wee look at his profile. I’d have been devastated if he had posted anything with this gf and tagged her and my wee one had got onto her profile.
In the public domain in a job that is aimed at families you just can’t be linked to that content. No1 is saying he can’t be in the relationship but he shouldn’t be sharing her page when it’s not family friendly.
he’s now living this attention and the 5 mins of fame that’s coming with it but it will soon die down and he’ll be on OF to bring in the money too.

I can see where the BBC are coming from. If he's promoting her social media on his own it could lead to children stumbling on her accounts and the BBC don't want to be held accountable for that.

I’ve just been to have a nose. For me, I’m not a fan of the long hair so when it’s tied back he automatically gets more points from me.
But also he looks good in the outfit! Hes definitely a ‘grey sweats’ guy.
Whereas conversely, legend does nothing for me til you put him in metallic Lycra.
I am ridiculously attracted to Legend the character and NOT AT ALL to Matt the fitness guy.

I think the 90s version didn't have as many health and safety things in place. Not to mention gym culture wasn't as big back then and all the Gladiators were just juiced to the absolute tits.

I’ve really grown to love Legend this series. First series I didn’t really understand his character but he’s rather funny 😆

It’ll be really interesting to see what they do for the next series. It’s just nice to have a show on tv that has a great nod to what family Saturday nights used to be and that all generations can enjoy. With the most delicious thighs 🤣

Given the lukewarm responses from other gladiators that (ex)giant has turned into them being outraged, you just know that he's the type of man that when a woman asks him if this is the Manchester train, he will spend the rest of the day gloating that she was chatting him up.
Well it only took a pornstar showing him some attention for him to throw away his marriage and his job without a backwards glance so I think you are right 🤣

Even moreso when you consider that they would have filmed those 'interactions' a number of times and that's the best performance you could get out of them
:D :D

It was very GCSE Drama, or like one of those photo love stories with speech bubbles you used to get in teenage girl magazines back in the day

She would be amazing if she came back. I think the Gladiators liked her as well. She seemed respected by them.

I think Nitro, Phantom and Steel seem like nice lads and competed in the Olympics so I'm not sure they would be as arrogant as others (despite literally being elite athletes). Fire came over well on Strictly from what I saw and I think Fury seems a really lovely kind girl.

Diamond gives off "bitch" vibes and Sabre has become more annoying I think.

Don't feel like we see much of Comet and Athena compared to the other girls
Im A Fury girl 🙋🏻‍♀️, I really like and admire how she conducts herself. I think she’s backed off a bit this year after the tackle with the contestant last series. I also really like power house that is Cyclone.

Let's be fair, all he really had was his size. He didn't have the charisma like a Legend or Nitro and didn't have the wins to back him up like Cyclone. He had his shot, he messed it up, and I don't think the BBC will employ him again. Could see him on I'm a Celeb at some point tho to 'set the record straight'.

I wasn't sure about Cyclone when she first arrived but she's an absolute beast of a Gladiator, her record speaks for itself and I love her attitude now!

They always trot out the “it’s the oldest profession” line as if that makes everything ok. The next line is that it’s “empowering”. Is it? Because it looks like you’re having to do all sorts of things to appease your subscribers. I personally don’t think that changing my body specifically for the male gaze (because it’s not for yourself - those boobs are ridic) is particularly powerful.
