I find it very telling that he behaved that way with young women that sound like they were just starting out in their careers and not every one either, just enough so that he has plausible deniability and can gaslight that they were the problem and not him.

I bet that the anonymous people defending him are men and women that he perceived as higher in the hierarchy so less likely to put up with his obscene behaviour meaning he treated them with respect.

I hope the vile little git gets his comeuppance and his wife divorces him. I honestly don't know how she's tolerated him for as long as she has.

He is a nasty shit. He was convicted of burgling Paul Young’s house, and he stole a load of Paul’s dead wife‘s stuff. He has always refused to give it back or say what happened to it. He served a prison sentence for it. Fuck him! Piece of shit from Naples!

Completely agree with all the comments abut power dynamics and internalised misogyny. It never fails to surprise me how some people cannot recognise that their views are extremely dated and how they are not open to thinking about things in another way. Women have had to put up with this crap for far too long.

Yeah he's a knob and over the top but smutty words. Stand up for yourself, tell him where to go. Some of these accusations are from 14 year ago. We lived in a different world 14 year ago. I used to work in a pub. The smut we heard!!. Think these complaints are more about £££ signs.
Oh please, it doesn't matter when someone comes forward. Some people may never speak out because of fear or shame and because it takes them X amount of years they are lying? No wonder victims stay quiet when people say ridiculous shit like that.

Gordon Ramsey is a misogynist too. He publicly declared several times that he refused to be in the delivery room with his wife while she gave birth to his many children, as he didn’t want to be turned off having sex with her afterwards.
I remember this. So bloody grim. This ongoing objectivication of women is just so Fkg tiresome generally. I've seen today lots of people supporting Gregg Wallace on twitter and the usual 'I'm not offended' shite about Gino. Yes, there was a time this stuff was considered acceptable but those days are gone. No one should have to put up with this shit especially not at work. Anyone who thinks like this is a complete dinosaur IMO.

These men always seem to have a whole host of female sympathisers. All the comments along the lines of "how come its taken 15 years for them to come forward?"

Totally oblivious to power dynamics and the fact that sometimes it can take that long for one brave woman to come forward and open the floodgates, or that on many occasions, objections were raised at the time but were swept under the carpet.

Hope we never see the greasy little git again, although I expect there's a Schofield-style "woe is me" interview on the way. That lot all tend to have the same agents, don't they?
Exactly, and the very reason that women don't come forward is because they know all too well, the backlash that they will face.

Similar to Gregggggggg Wallace, I could never stand this creep, without actually knowing why. Couldn't watch anything he was on.

After being a convicted burglar (how low can you go violating someone's -anyone's! - home?), he was virtually handed new career by ITV.

I believe Kim W when she now says he was edited favourably on IAC and was set up to win; she couldn't have said anything at the time because it'd look like sour grapes as she was the runner up.

He wasn't at all grateful of this second chance, instead the same arrogance and entitlement he displayed as a crim was (allegedly) directed towards women as a power flex.

It’s always women of a certain age who defend this kind of behaviour as well. ‘Oh it was fine in my day’, well yeah because you had been conditoned to think that and carry a shitload of internalised misogyny🙄
I’m a woman of a certain age - which is probably yet another misogynistic label coined as a put down of women by a man.
I like to think I know the difference between banter and disgusting misogyny.
I’ve been on the receiving end of far too much of the latter when there was no way to challenge it or have it dealt with. Some horrible experiences.
There’s probably some truth in your comment with regards to those who are defending him (though it’s more likely to be that some women are defending him because they fancy him and don’t want to believe he’s a POS, in my opinion)
But if they’re carrying a shit load of internalised misogyny then I feel sympathy for them, not scorn.

Considering he was a criminal before his TV career, this doesn't surprise me. Give a criminal the opportunities he has been given to earn a handsome living, no wonder he gained a power trip and ego.

I work for a large corporate and if someone, particularly someone senior to me, said that to me at work there would be hell to pay - they’d lost their job, without a doubt. I’ve seen that change in even just the ten years that I’ve been “properly” working. It’s so rare to hear men say things like that now in my job. I’m not saying that it doesn’t happen but it’s rare.

It seems like the media is one of the last industries to catch up in terms of that kind of approach to sexism etc

Also, and I’m aware this is quite sad to say (because men should love their wives), but I was always suspicious of Gino due to how much he went on about only being with his wife, being together from a young age etc - it was so at odds with the image he put across. I always think when (famous) men lean too hard into the family man image it’s because they are trying to keep something hidden

Why does it not surprise me? He's come across across badly since his prison days. He's quite perverted and forward hiding behind the phoney Italian cheeky chappy act. He had issues trying to stop people using the right of way by his house. Now this.

Spot on with the boys club! And then the people associated with them suddenly plant a story about how uncomfortable they felt. John Torode was the same. Why didn’t you speak up then…? Holly is also just as bad imo as she seems to be involved in a lot of these situations and didn’t do a thing
I hate Loose Women too. If fellas had a show like that it would likely be called out!

Gino’s behaviour was probly encouraged at ITV and now it’s no longer acceptable behaviour he is ousted and it’s all his fault.

Holly and Phil both bladdered on daytime telly after an all-nighter was deemed hilarious at the time. And Celebrity Juice was bizarre. Glad that kind of shyte isn’t on telly any longer.

Agree 100%. Another woman of a certain age here who has put up with so much shit, sexual comments, innuendo etc in my working life in the 90s onwards. So so glad young women are not putting up with this!
Awful to think that he and so many others got away with it for so long. The sickening thing is that those women knew there was no point in saying anything because in some cases they would have lost their jobs. It makes me so angry how these neanderthals thought it was absolutely fine and oh so hilarious to speak to women the way that they did. I could never abide either this lowlife or slimeball Gregggggg Wallace, without knowing why. I could never bear to watch anything that either of them were on.

I never liked him. Found him over the top and irritating, and came across as knowing very little about food! Didn't like that he robbed Paul Young's house either, although I didn't have him down as a sexual predator.

So it has taken 14 year for one woman to come forward. The others that have come forward are more recent. IWhen I first heard I thought OMG another one, but come on. He's smutty, he can be a bit over the top but ruining a man's career ?? Keith Lemon will be the next one to be accused. I think it's ridiculous. We are adults if you don't like what someone says move on.

He honestly makes my skin crawl.
I’m not surprised in the slightest by this.
How on earth goes he keep getting these TV gigs?
