It's probably because I'm past the blob's visit but this rendition always gets to me every time. Of course this entire Unplugged is immense but just George's take on such a song. Oof.

No but that interview and quote of his changed my life! It’s a bit of a me-rail, but it hopefully shows how him being so open helped other people.

(I’m just going to copy and paste what I said on the LGB thread about this, sorry)

It helped me make sense of my sexuality. I kind of feel the same was he did, but the other way around. I really fancy some men, but with women it’s a whole other level, there’s the attraction but also the emotional connection in relationships that I never felt with men.

(this is George’s quote)

Before that I’d not really got my head around my bisexuality, but then it gave me clarity, I wish I’d realised sooner but emotionally it doesn’t work for me + a man in a relationship, I wish I’d realised sooner, but thanks to George speaking about this, its really helped.
I never knew he was attracted to women too. Nobody that I’m aware of anyway has ever done a kiss and tell. I bet he was a good and kind lover x

Well stated^ Agree with you on everything. They were all quiet when he was alive, yet once he was gone, like clock work they all came out with interviews, books & music (Andrew ie Club Tropicana remix).

I've never believed the 'official' story as to George's death. Wholeheartedly believe he was murdered. The music industry is operated by evil, it's not coincidence that so many end up dead (by suicide) or other convenient excuses. Sadly I believe this to be the case with Melanie as well. There is a site that extensively discusses the entertainment industry, evil, corrupt, satanic.
Please, he wasn't murdered. I've said this before on here but I heard in early 2016 through a friend who worked for a news company that George didn't have long left and wasn't expected to live past the end of the year.

There is no big satanic presence in the music industry. It just so happens that the people at the top of it are usually corrupt, of course - just like any industry. Corrupt evil bastards run the world.

It was my child’s School Christmas Disco this evening and the final song of the night was Last Christmas and every child in the room sung it word for word.

The oldest children there were born a little over a year before he sadly left us far too soon so it was a beautiful reminder his music is still so loved ❤

My four year old loves singing last Christmas and knows all the words. It’s nice to know decent music carries on

I once had a close encounter with George in Goring … he was in a black Range Rover stopped at the traffic lights coming out of the village and I was on my way home from work. I don’t think my Ford Sierra impressed him when I cut him up, but I was starstruck 😂

Sorry to butt in on an established thread with possibly an unpopular view but having watched the various Wham docs recently I've come to the conclusion that Shirlie Kemp is absolutely unbearable.
She behaves as if no one knew George better than her or was more loved by him and lords it over Pepsi and even Andrew to the point of rudeness. She just comes across as a professional mourner monetising a relationship that maybe wasn't quite as close as she claims.

Aww yes!!! 💯

I really love Outside. The song and the video are amazing in their own right, but the cultural impact! He’d just been outed and the press clearly wanted him to feel ashamed, and he just went, “no, I’m going to have FUN with this”.

I honestly think that video is one of the most punk rock things to happen in popular music.
BIB - for real. Which actually fits in with who George is/was rather than the glossed up version he was spun as. Anyone who out indies Morrissey, the misery guts, had to have a lot of depth and he certainly wasn't shallow.

Seasons Greetings Lovelies 🎄💞🙏

Wishing you peace and joy, wherever you are.

I have just watched Wham: Last Christmas - loved it. So many memories, some sad for me but many happy ones too.

I didn't know they had given the royalties from Last Christmas to Band Aid too 🙏👏....

I didn't think I could have loved them any more than I do, but I'm going to bed with a big smile in my heart tonight.

Peace to you All that read here.
What a lovely post ♥. I feel you. Bittersweet thinking of George at Christmas. He was the soundtrack to my youth like many of us on here. Still have so much love for him and his music. Merry Christmas to you too and wishing you all health and happiness xx

Loved the programmes tonight on Wham amd GM.
I'm sure Shirlie is a lovely person, but she annoyed me tonight by talking over Pepsi a lot.
She got lucky due to her friendship with GM as she was a crap dancer

I finally sat down and watched the Last Christmas film today. Absolutely predictable but sweet and made me sob like a baby.

Hope he's proud up there because so many of us are of him down here 🥲🥲🥲
