I am in the dark or maybe just uneducated in this area but girls seem to get on fine until puberty then the potential bitchiness kicks in and it can remain with some until around menopause when you tend to see women become much more supportive of each other again. No doubt it all has a name or a theory that I'm not aware of. Add this to the way girls are socialised to put men first in a patriarchal society and I suppose that sets us up nicely for the kind of behaviour seen by the NHS Fife witches. I find it deplorable and almost worse than Upton.

I think it's competition for male attention. We don't have penises for pissing contests, (and we have too much class for that sort of thing !) so we use our wits to scorn each other instead. I think it's all to be the deemed the best in order to get the most attractive men to fancy us, or the bosses to give us promotions. In the Fife case, it's all about being the best girl in class, which is a patriarchal system.
I remember feeling it in my late teens early 20s - there was one Queen Bee who would ruin everyone's crushes by seducing whoever it was you said you fancied, just to show you that she could. (I'm perimenopausal now, but I still dislike her
) And now I think it's just so stupid and pointless, because the men are going to sleep with anyone who throws herself at them, so it's such a waste of time and effort. But you don't see it that way at the time because you're a storm of hormones and emotions. I am so glad I got past all that by 25, though I am always wary of all-female environments. I have friends of both sexes, and I think we civilise each other.

I dont think it was intended to be personal to her, she was just the scapegoat, who tried to say something that wasnt (according to NHS fife,) politically correct, or what they wanted to hear, or could justify at all, and refused to stand down. Sandie was out of sight, happy getting on with her job on the night shift, without playing any kind of management game. She probably would have been the last to know why a man was allowed in the female changing room, and wasnt deemed important enough to have her concerns listened to or given any validiity at all.
As others have said....the supposed racist comments had no basis at all..... if the person allegedly called a paki, wasnt bothered or aware....did they ever happen? Fifes management team shouldnt be just making things up to suit themselves!!
And as for the homophobic comment... as Sandie had an openly gay daughter, happy in her relationship.... Where on earth did that come from?

Yes, this is JR asking questions after Naomi's cross exam. She's behaving disgracefully - she's supposed to use this time to clear up anything that arose during the cross and not to repeat and give more detail on allegations that have already been dismissed by her client as not enough evidence in Sandie's misconduct hearing.
Charlotte Myers has already said that the allegations were unsubstantiated. All this shows is how biased and negatively disposed to Sandie, Ester Davidson and others were. It reflects badly on JR that she has chosen to repeat and expand on these unsubstantiated allegations. The consultant concerned didn't even remember the supposed comments. If he/she had really been called the P word by Sandie, I guarantee that he would have remembered all the details. The whole thing is implausible and it makes JR and Fife look mean-spirited and vindictive in repeating the allegations unnecessarily. Shocking behaviour but par for the course in this shambles.
It does look a bit like either Jane Russell is completely incompetent, or she is throwing the case as she knows she's going to lose anyway. Or a bit of both.
We're going to have to have a read-a-long when the judge's decision is published. It will be scorching.
NHS Fife have ducked themselves over more spectacularly than we could ever have hoped for. It demonstrates so well how ridiculous, and insidious, this ideology is. All sense, rationality and professionalism thrown out of the window to appease the feelings of a minority of men.
It's like nothing on earth is more important than a man on his journey of "self discovery" and women, since time immemorial, have been expected to sacrifice ourselves at the altar of male desire, to be the quiet little assistants and handmaidens while men do whatever the duck they like without consequence. Sandie is just another example in a never-ending list.
The most galling part is that we're sold this as "progressive", when those of us with eyes and half a brain can clearly see it's the same old misogynistic story regurgitated and repackaged for the 21st century.
Incidentally, I was on a training course last week. My partner in the training sessions was a trans-identified man. I don't think he's an AGP (although who knows - men's grim sexual proclivities never fail to disappoint and disgust) and he isn't particularly gender non-conforming. I mean, I have gay male friends who are more obviously gnc. He's just a very unusual sort who I suspect has never really fit in anywhere. Quiet, quite sensitive, probably neurodiverse, but also very obviously male. Mercifully, he dressed normally (jeans, tshirt, trainers). Pleasant enough to talk to, but absolutely galling to me that any man who doesn't quite fit in with other men seems to think that somehow makes him a she. It's like anything that isn't the "default" male is lumped in with women. We're the catch-all dustbin for failed men. It's clear that basically everyone captured by gender ideology thinks male is the default, which is why we see supposedly "non binary" girls removing or binding their breasts - to be female is never neutrality, and to be genderless is to have no breasts or outward signs of femaleness.
There's such an undercurrent of entitlement too. I have no doubt this man would have weaponised accusations of "transphobia" if he thought someone wasn't playing along with his idea of himself as a woman.

Someone on X said she was ‘just’ a Band 5 and it made me rage. Band 5 nurses with 30 years experience who do night shift are like gold dust. (Family nursing connection makes me sensitive to this and I’m ashamed of the RCN and all those magazines we always had in the house. )
Same. My mother was a lifelong nurse who turned down every opportunity to go above staff nurse because she wanted to nurse people, and the higher you get, the less you do that. She was also a 40 year plus member of the RCN and she must be turning in her grave right now at how dreadfully they’ve behaved towards Sandie. I can only imagine what a short shrift she would have given a fella in the nurses changing room.

I remember 20+ years ago a teaching colleague saying getting rid of older staff replacing with newly qualified as cheaper and her colleagues laughed a few years later it started happening and the same is happening in the NHS

I work with him and I've never seen him in the ladies although my work would almost certainly say he's entitled to.

Older, experienced officers - the ones who would have guided the young "think-they're-the-Sweeny" types on how to de-escalate situations, how to get to know the people on their patch, when to crack down on an offender and when to have a quiet word and move on - they saw the writing on the wall, grabbed their pensions and ran! And now we have entire forces of police who have two policing methods - "over-reacting" and "ignoring" - no nuance.
