Natalie Washington, a campaigner with Football v Transphobia, told PA earlier this month she was concerned trans women could now turn their backs on the game.

“The people I know that are talking about this are saying, ‘Well, that’s it for football for me’,” she said.

“Most people clearly don’t feel that they can go and play in the men’s game for reasons of safety, for reasons of comfort.

Surely the whole thing about sexual attraction is it isn’t, and never has been “inclusive”. If that was the case, surely then everyone would be attracted to everyone else? No one has the right to lecture or dictate to anyone who they should be attracted to. If you’re heterosexual, you’re not going to be same sex attracted, and the opposite is true if you’re gay. Men and women are physically different, and mutilating yourself and taking inappropriate hormones isn’t going to magically make you look realistically different.
I suspect the reason they are so forceful and bullying about who’s attracted to them is that, in general, they look weird and creepy at best and fucking repulsive at worst. That’s all they have, bullying and shaming people into finding them attractive.

Oh, and anecdotally, I've been working at this place for a few years, and am friends with some colleagues in other teams who have also been there years... every year they used to always get a predictable and consistent % of mental health referrals/crises from students, especially around exam time. The past two years, it has skyrocketed and the admin teams and academics are struggling to cope because when it comes to the programme boards after exams, they have to look at all the mitigating circumstances appeals, and there's so many across the uni now.

I have a mate who works at a uni and she says they really struggle with the high numbers of mental health issues that are raised by students. Some of whom threaten self harm etc when their grades aren't as high as they should be. She says they have to look out for all these kids but there's a suspicion amongst staff that a lot of them just use it as a manipulation tactic. She says the worst thing is that these kids are using their mental health as a weapon but there are plenty of kids who take their own lives who have never expressed any concerns about their MH.
There is a definite lack of resilience in young people. I work with quite a lot in their very early twenties and they just don't seem to be able to handle life. I think part of the problem is that people are told to talk about their issues which makes the everyday stuff that people used to just crack on with into some insurmountable problem. Obviously being able to talk about MH is a positive thing but I worry that it's somehow made the problem worse.

Blend into the background? Because women aren't complaining in changing rooms or toilets it doesn't mean you “pass” as a woman. Its because we are socially conditioned to be accepting and fearful of men, something that trans can't conceive because they are part of the patriarchal problem.

Also nobody matters except them and how they feel. Big hulking blokes crying because a teenage girl doesn't want to play contact sports against them. Whinging because somebody called them sir when most people would laugh it off. I mean, if being misgendered happens enough times that you get upset about it, surely that's a clue that you aren't a woman?

PS My husband misgendered our female cat by calling her buddy, she just carried on washing her bum like a boss.

I call on the government to act swiftly to ensure that public spaces are safe for everyone. Separate bathrooms for TERFs will prevent discrimination against women who do not fit into their narrow views and mitigate the discomfort and danger they bring into women's spaces. Please sign this petition to urge the government to protect women's rights to safety and dignity in public restrooms.

The BBC is trying to weasel out of it by saying everyone on I Kissed A Boy is fine with kissing a girl.

So that means they excluded gay men, or at least all gay men who weren't prepared to compromise their sexuality. And called it a gay dating show. While erasing and excluding gay men.

While out shopping, I also had the misfortune of walking past Lush (and not just because of the sickly sweet artificial scent wafting out of the door). There was this big sticker on the window and a male shop assistant was stood in the doorway blowing bubbles to attract young kids over to the store. The sticker was placed on the glass right next to where the man was standing so anyone entering the shop couldn’t miss it . Grooming in plain sight.

Trans people are always harping on about how having to use the correct toilets for their sex "outs" hem at work <> - well what about the Darlington nurse who had to "out"herself regarding the abuse she was subjected to as a child? I've just come across this - that poor woman had kept this very private matter private until she was forced to explain to HR why she found a half dressed man in her changing room and potentially assisting in her operation, terrifying - for all the good it did her.

Though it seems she did eventually get her surgery, and the lovely "Rose" wasn't present.
It was only when Karen got lawyers involved that the Trust backed down, and when the operation did go ahead, Rose was not in the room.

It should never have come to this.

It is an absolute fucking outrage, a total scandal. He should never have been in the changing room but he was, and with that background and an ongoing dispute, they clearly put him on her surgery to punish and intimidate her and then refused her surgery. We can't even put this down to a one off bad apple trust because we know from Sandie Peggie and other accounts that this rot runs right through the NHS. Upton admitted he'd present himself to a patient who requested a female doctor and that he'd mark a patient who responded to him as Sandie did as aggressive, meaning they might be refused care. It's such a fucking scandal I can hardly believe it. In fact I don't blame people who aren't following very closely for assuming it must be different to how it appears to be because it is. Such. A. Fucking. Absurdity. And. Outrage.

I once thought the Tories were deliberately suffocating the NHS to lose it public support and bring in privatised health care that would make some people extremely rich. But this is under fucking Labour. I don't know what to think except that I just hate them all so much. Thank God for independent candidates.

Re the Darlington nurse who was sexually abused, did anyone read the comments under the article?
One in particular referred to the gynaecological procedure that she needed. The person asked if her gynaecologist was a male, and then said they would assume it was (because she didn't say anything to the contrary in the article), and how was she fine with dealing with a male in that instance but not with having "Rose" in the operating theatre.

Well, assuming the gynaecologist was male, he’s not pretending to be something he isn’t for his sexual gratification. “Rose” is in a heterosexual relationship with a woman. He’s not behaving as a woman trying to make her pregnant as it’s impossible , and if there was such a thing as “genuine” trans people, he’s certainly not behaving as one. He sounds exactly like an AGP with a fetish and probably enjoying making women feel uncomfortable too, parading around in holey underwear and waiting for them to undress in front of him.
Are people genuinely so thick they think this is OK? I’d far rather have a man treat me than someone with a grotesque sexual fetish getting their kicks causing discomfort and parodying being female.

Reading Karen's story just made me both so sad and angry. I can't fathom how callous and unfeeling the Darlington bosses are. I'm not going to comment on Rose because, well, he's a man who clearly revels in the discomfort his presence brings to the female nurses. But her bosses? I genuinely don't understand their complete disregard for the well-being of any of their staff.

And my mood has been worsened by reading this article about the many NHS Trusts, Councils and other public bodies who are refusing to enforce the SC ruling immediately, claiming that they are waiting for the EHRC guidance. The EHRC has already issued interim guidance which states clearly and unambiguously that transwomen should not use women's facilities and transmen should not use men's facilities. There is no possibility that this basic premise will change and everyone knows this.

I am sick to death of the total disregard for the rights of women that these organisations wilfully show. They just don't care and are happy to let the world see that when they finally make the required changes, they will be doing so completely begrudgingly. It makes me so angry.

You who came up with your made-up identity is your own worst enemy, and you don’t get a medal for simply… existing and having an identity. Saying you’re a survivor is a slap in the face for any chronic illness survivor like cancer. Any normal member of society has made sense of their identity so they can function and create things in life. Your only achievement of 33 years of delusion is surviving and being yourself. Do fuck off.

There was an invesigation last year by ITV into the fire service and it showed how rife misogyny is in a lot of fire stations. There was a lot of sexual harrasment cases of female staff, which were ignored or covered up. Anyone would think they have more important things to focus on.

Yes, the Fire Service are very clear in their hatred and disrespect for women, so ignoring the Supreme Court's statement is not a surprise at all. Am looking forward to all of the lovely lawsuits that are going to slap these misogynistic twats right in the kipper. Bring it on!

I'm on a bus and we've just gone past a Pride demo. It would never have bothered me before but now it feels threatening. Which is silly I know but I feel the demand for "acceptance" and "no debate" permeating what used to be a celebration of non-heterosexuality which I could get on board with. I can't get on board with the new concept of Pride.

Pride was for gay people. Those who are same-sex attracted. It used to be straightforward. It annoys me when writers who should know better talk about Pride marches in the '80s, and describe their participants as "the LGBTQ community". That term didn't exist, nor the concept. They were gay men and lesbian women.
