Wow she really comes across as a TRA. How does this ‘shatter’ the balance of rights? No empathy or understanding of what women have been subject to as a result of the overreach of those pushing gender ideology. And I don’t want to hear the phrase ‘tiny minority’ ever again. A ‘tiny minority’ should not be able to threaten the protections of another oppressed group.

Been having a think and before the whole trans thing took off were non-feminine looking women really challenged about being in the bathrooms? And if the TRAs are to be believed about that happening now then whose fault is that? Maybe (if it happens at all) less feminine looking women wouldn’t be challenged about it if men hadn’t been barging in and claiming women’s spaces for themselves. Hmm.

I think a vital qualification for politicians in a democracy is to be able to change policy when the facts change or when there's a big swing in the views of the electorate. Newsom, I don't much like him, but I can absolutely see how the zeitgeist of 2020 California would have yielded focus groups telling him that everyone loves trans people and wants them to have 'rights' (a word used disingenuously by TRAs as we know, they have rights as trans people, but they don't have rights to bust their way into female spaces), but now 5 years later when the consequences have become clearer, the facts and the zeitgeist have changed.
He's just doing what a democratic politican is meant to do imho. What's really dangerous to democracy is ideologues like Sultana and Whittome who cling to their dumb and harmful ideologies even when the world has moved on. Save that for China and Afghanistan and North Korea. Imho.
