So you acknowledge that someone with androgen insensitivity syndrome is "basically immune to testosterone" and thus "not manly in any way," which justifies their acceptance as a woman despite having XY chromosomes? But you don’t apply the same knowledge to trans women who, through hormone replacement therapy (HRT), also reduce or eliminate the effects of testosterone, resulting in a similar physical presentation to that of someone with AIS?
The bait and switch here felt far more obvious to me than it would have done a few years ago. Sowing doubt with a rare condition, then jumping to male people who had taken cross sex hormones when the two are not remotely comparable.

I attended a key note talk by Caroline Criado Perez yesterday in Edinburgh and she was incredible. She was able to give so much information and insight into gender bias. During the Q&A, a lady opened with “welcome to the land of Women Who Won’t Wheest”. This was met with boos from a big percentage of the crowd (there’s so many handmaidens and pick me’s in Edinburgh)
I seriously can’t understand how they can still be repeating Trans Women are Women when they had just sat through a lecture in which Perez was describing the difference between men and women, even down to how our cells react differently to drugs….(if they don’t work on male cells, they don’t even bother checking if they work on women’s, or at all in some cases, as our reactions change depending on our cycle. How many life changing drugs may have been available if only they check?)
But a man’s feelings trump everything I guess.

How did CCP react?
100% neutral. I think she’s been burned in the past with her campaign to keep a historical woman on a bank note. The question that was asked is why should a high ranking male start pretending to be a woman and in turn that will skew the gender pay gap in the company’s favour. She replied that in order to keep correct data, that it should be recorded as a trans woman pay. I think she had been well warned beforehand.
Her next book is about the falling birth rates and what are the reasons behind it. So she obviously knows what a woman is…..

I think we've discussed this delightful, stunning and brave charmer before.

He drew a lot of complaints because he was using the female gym changing room (of course). I'm not sure of his exact behaviour in there, but it sounds to have been inappropriate, typical of an AGP fetish.

Life Time Fitness have stated:
“Recently, a prospective member presented a Driver’s License issued by the Missouri Department of Revenue,” the letter states. “That Missouri-issued ID advised us (and the public) that they prospective member’s sex was female. Under Missouri Law, this individual’s legal sex is female.”

“Life Time’s policy is to rely on the state-assigned gender,” the letter states. “To do otherwise would put us in violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act.”

The update is that he has now been banned from Life Time Fitness, the reason being posts he wrote on his Facebook and Xitter accounts. He sounds very mentally unwell.

However, many people's opinion is that Life Time faced such a backlash from allowing him to continue in the women's spaces that the reason given is simply an excuse.

Regardless of the actual reason, Life Time seem to have listened to their cash register the public. I view this as a small win.

This came up in my Facebook feed yesterday.

It is just absolutely nonsensical. It is from CoppaFeel if anyone was in any doubt.
I'm very surprised and shocked at this as CoppaFeel has always been about breast cancer awareness. Disappointed that the organisation is going down this route and inserting such language. (I have met a CoppaFeel medical advisor, they were the registrar/surgical trainee during my op).

I stopped reading this thread late last night and wondered where things would end up with our visitors esp the really annoying one. Suffice to say that I didn't see the plot twist but well done to you all for your initial suspicions and the ultimate detective work.

So we've gone from transwomen being indistinguishable from biological women, to the realisation that men can't even successfully fake being women when they are being anonymous on a forum.

I think that makes it Game, Set and Match to us TERFS:love:

That headline is refreshing ‘trans identifying male’. Wish this was used in MSM far more.

Guess who is back to using 'she'... When there's money to be had and female products sell better than nonbinary stuff 😅 I am glad she's back to using correct pronouns because 1) it shows her for the flip flopping hypocrite that she is and 2) shows how stupid the whole pronouns thing is.

Been lurking on this since the whole boxing debacle and I'd like to say thanks for helping firm up my views on gender/trans rights etc. I've always been very much "live and let live" when it comes to people and how they wanna go about their business and tbh I never really thought about how that could impact me or my daughter. Having actually sat down and thought about it and how it is creeping into our everyday lives and how naive I've been to trying to keep everyone "happy" that I've almost given away my rights as a woman. So, I'm here and on board. Actually spoke to a friend yesterday about it and found out she had googled "can trans women get periods" because she feels so gaslit by the whole TWAW stance and is thoroughly confused by it all. Anyways, story short - she's on board too.

With regards to the Demi Lovato pronouns - she did an interview last year saying she was using 'she' more often now because explaining they/them was "exhausting"........not because she is actually she  The mind boggles.

Good for you and welcome aboard @Jenmojito ❤. There is an excellent wiki button at the top of the thread if you want to look in more detail at some of the issues that helped form our views on this topic.

This is America but the judge granted an emergency order for 15 year old boy to be allowed to join girls soccer practice, it seems on the basis that because he has been taking blockers, he would not have a physical advantage.

The judge questioned how the law, as applied to Tirrell, would protect girls from unfair competition given that the state isn’t contesting evidence that she has no physiological advantage after taking puberty-blocking medication to prevent bodily changes such as muscle development. McCafferty also found Tirrell had proven that she would suffer irreparable harm without it, another criteria for emergency relief.

It’s part of a wider lawsuit from two families (one whose son doesn’t even plan to play sports until December?!) seeking to overturn the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act”.

Journalist showing her bias closing the article with this. Shoe horning in all the other ‘bans’ against transgender children.

The rights of transgender people — and especially young people — have become a major political battleground in recent years as trans visibility has increased. Most Republican-controlled states have banned gender-affirming health care for transgender minors, and several have adopted policies limiting which school bathrooms trans people can use and barring trans girls from some sports competitions.

Why emergency order? Was the kid throwing sissy fit to play with girls?
It seems that rights for trans are active and acting much faster than women's rights which has been fighting for women since.... centuries

Because practice started Monday evening.

U.S. District Court Chief Judge Landya McCafferty granted the request with just hours to spare

Like if he didn’t make practice that evening his life would end 🙄

I mean hypospadias is definitely a form of DSD, affecting males only. It can be quite severe indeed with the urethra opening in the perineum for example.
PCOS isn’t a DSD.
My ex had hypospadias and he’s exactly the type of abusive c*nt who would identify himself into women’s spaces to intimidate/threaten/abuse them. He’s also enormously homophobic though so it does amuse me slightly if he’s force teamed into the umbrella.

Ugh baldy looked ridiculous on that video posing like a teenager in in his short skirt. I bet he calls himself a 'girl'. They never want to dress or act like older women do they 🤔 I wonder why that is 🙄

I'm going to sound really old, but if many of the people who champion trans rights had lived through what we lived through in order to gain rights for women they'd have a very different opinion of us evil turfs.
If you didn't have to fight for something I do understand how you might not value it.

I don’t know if this news story has been spotted and shared here at all but came across it when reading the latest issue of The Week. Hopefully they realise that by asking these stupid questions that make people walk out that it’s stupid to be pandering to a tiny amount of the population like this and could be putting people’s health at risk if they’re not staying for tests and scans. Also if I was a man and a medical professional asked me if I could be pregnant I would be v concerned about their capability.
