I think a lot of people are struggling to see my point here. I’m giving you examples of when sex is not defined by chromosomes alone to show the immense complexity of biological sexing and how unfortunately biology, especially genetics, is not as simple as you may have been led to believe in school.
I think perhaps you are confusing sex and gender here! Sex is entirely defined by chromosomes, so a mammal of all species are male if they are XY, or female if they are XX
Gender is a social construct, so yes you can say someone with a DSD was born with one set of chromosomes say XY, and because of those DSD at birth, they were brought up in the opposite gender, and didnt realise until they hit puberty that they werent XX.
What most on this thread are saying, is that gender and sex are not interchangable concepts. Your sex is a biological fact that cannot be changed, and shouldnt be changed.
You throw in things like 46xy, swyers syndrome, which was discussed on this thread a few threads ago, where someone with Swyers, was given a donated egg, supported in being pregnant, and then given a caesarian, before giving birth to a baby. Which is a lovely way to support the individual who wanted a child, but it isnt exactly a natural process. Its IVF, at its most extreme, and It must have been expensive to go through this medical intervention.
