I don't mind men on it, even effeminate men, if they are there to be serious about sewing, but the last few years there has been at least one per series who for every challenge or every mini interview has to make it about their identity 🙄🙄 Keep it about sewing. Harness guy was too much last year, he was such a poser!

In other news I hear the government are trying to crack down on schools teaching gender ideology. Some good news.
This - some of the blokes have been outstanding, and I remember one of the gay blokes in the final whose garment was a dress for his partner, a drag artist, and it was really edgy and original.

But I'm sick of the "journey" and "background struggle" stuff. I've said it before, and doubtless will again because I am old and I repeat myself these days, but all I want is a minimum bit of personal information.

"I live with my Nan and she has a cat called Doris"

"My husband and I play tambourine in a Salvation Army band"

"I started sewing because I couldn't afford the clothes I liked, so I copied couture stuff"

"My ex-wife skinned me for child support so I had to learn to sew my own shirts. Well, look at me now, Freda you bitch! HHAHAHAHAHA"

That's all I want.

I'm sick of "journeys" and "being the odd one out" and having a "neurodiversity" and being "quirky". Just show me a nice French seam and let me sit contentedly and enjoy everybody being nice to each other.

Saw a group of TIMs in the pub today. All overweight brutes with long greasy hair and the tell tale receding hairline on top. Stubble showing through the trowelled on foundation. One was wearing a pink gingham dress with hair in pigtails. Classic AGP, porn addled freak.

These wrong'uns need to stop parading their fetish in public. They are having a fucking laugh if they think anyone would call them a woman.

Hi all, I've commented on this thread before but haven't been on in a while and need to have a little rant. Please bear with as quite long.
So I've been part of a Facebook group but don't want to say what it is without giving it away, but its basically a Neurodivergant group for women. For women.
The past few months admins have warned people not to start posts saying "hi ladies" or "hi girls", incase it offended those who did not identify as that.
Anyway, I've bit my tongue but last week someone posted something along the lines of 'what do cis-women think about being called cis". What annoyed me was the amount of pandering from women on there saying how much that is what women are. "We are cis!" "I have a trans daughter! I am a cis-woman!" Etc etc.
Then a woman commented saying that if any cis-woman is offended by the term then they are bigots. No argument.
So I commented saying what a ridiculous statement. That I do not like the term cis and I do not want to be called a cis women but does that make me transphobic?
Then afterwards a very condescending comment from someone else asking me to ask myself why do I hate the term? Do I need to dig deeper into myself to find out who I am as a person? I clicked on their profile and it was a man. With long green hair. His profile had about 42 words how he identified and also something about how much they hate terfs!! And if you were a terf to fuck off 🤣so anyway I replied to comment that no, I do need to ask myself anything. I don't like the term cis and that's how simple it can be.

I was blocked from the group!!!!
Woman = adult human female. None of this cis/trans crap. Male or female. Well done on speaking up. I too have been banned from groups for stating the bleeding obvious. This is one of the best threads on tattle imo, none of us are blind to this bullshit, stand strong, truth will prevail. The way I see it is every ban on these ridiculous hand maiden pages is a badge of honour.

I’ve posted before about Louise Distras and her legal battle, she was in court yesterday and just posted this update. Some sense at last!

Regarding the pronoun argument, I use people's preferred pronouns in real life because I would literally lose my job if I didn't. I am forced to comply... I did once accidentally "misgender" my colleague. I apologised via message (I wanted proof of my apology). They did not respond and I was genuinely worried what would happen next. This is the world we live in.

The dystopian nightmare continues. How can this be happening?

i am actually really pleased to see that there are as many as six trustees that wanted to keep it single sex. So often it seems it’s a lone voice within organisations.

Any man wanting to ‘lactate’ or ‘breastfeed’ needs all his electronic devices forensically examined. I will never be convinced that a man fighting for his right to do this is nothing other than a paedophile.

From that Debbie Hayton article:

“Kindness is a virtue, and lack of kindness can be off-putting.”

It’s #BeKind again - ie a man telling a woman to ‘be kind’, a man who has no perception, experience or clue what it feels like to be a woman but is putting his two pennyworth in anyway.

And JKR is right about AGP Clark. He got where he is through spending the first 45 years or so as a common or garden bloke - how many women of his age referee for male football teams, even though refereeing is open to all? Just because he’s put a frock on, it doesn’t mean he is suddenly not a white, middle-aged bloke.

But I appreciate that we are not all of one hive mind and that people in the GC community have differing views.

ETA, I think the case of Clark was widely reported at the time - I first came across the story on the BBC https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68122079.amp

I do agree with DH though that a nasty side has crept into JKRs tweets lately. In her 2020 essay she talks about knowing and loving trans people and is clear that her red line is that biological sex is real and that no one has the right to force us to say it isn't or to take women's sex based rights away.

There's a meanness and singularity to her tweets lately. I saw her use the phrase "cross dresser" during the week. And fine you might think that manager/referee looks a state but again as Debbie said football management is already open to any gender and there's no advantage conferred here so why bother targetting him ?
In 2020 she was tentatively sticking her head above the parapet, after being called out for liking GC tweets, panicking and blaming it on a “senior moment”.

In other words, she was still trying to pander to TRAs a little bit, because she was scared.

A lot has happened since then. She could never have predicted the years and years and YEARS of unfathomable abuse, death threats and friends/acquaintances turning their back on her. That has to do something to one’s psyche, right?

She’s more hard line now. So am I. So are many people on this thread I’m sure. So where once she said “dress however you like”, now she’s calling out cross dressing men for being cross dressing men.

I think more fetishistic cross dressers need to be ridiculed, quite honestly. It’s better than fucking applauding them.

OMG somebody think of those poor kids. Why are some posters so quick to just accept him as a mother too? He's the children's father.
I’m sorry, but people must be really thick. He is a man, he never physically carried the children and gave birth to them, he’s the father FFS. He can identify as anything, but it won’t change the fact that’s he’s a biological man and the father. He will not ever be the mother, regardless of how deluded he is. Why is it always the woman that has to “be kind” and make sacrifices and put her self last for these narcissistic arseholes benefit. The hand maidens can all fuck off too.
Fucking thick, fawning handmaiden imbeciles, that’s why.
Sums them up perfectly.
Honestly, I despair that we have come so far in scientific knowledge to be beaten into submission by the most idiotic ideology that ignores very basic biology. That allows zero disagreement and zero debate because there is no evidence whatsoever to back it up. I find the harder they push their stupidity, the more I hate them. Bullies.

Just seen
Sir John added: "We know that attitudes on trans have moved against making it easier for people.

"The critical feminists have the had the better of the argument. The question we have to ask is whether Isla Bryson is an Aids moment. The Aids scare moved public opinion for a while against same-sex relationships in the late 80s. The point is will it necessarily indicate the long-term trend, as Aids did not, or is it the case that eventually we will get more liberal
?"”

I beg your fucking pardon, John?

Look, sonny, many women have been at this game for years. We understand the nuance, we’ve heard all the arguments, we’ve weighed the evidence. We’ve thought, written, spoken, debated and turned the concept of womens rights and gender identity upside down and inside out in the quest to understand how they intersect and how they can best be managed fairly in the public sphere.

You, on the other hand, blessed with your testicles of objectivity, have parachuted in with your frankly laughable ignorance of the topic, issuing forth banal and ignorant proclamations, during which you make not one reference to womens rights or safety, draw stupidly offensive and reductive parallels with a completely unrelated issue and pat yourself on the back for a job well done?

Nah, mate. Go away and try listening to some women. It may well be difficult, but I’m sure an intellectual giant such as yourself is up to it.

That said, it amuses me in a bleak sort of way when they think they’re sending their best, and the paucity of thought becomes clear. Better still when they’re accidentally monumentally offensive like dismissing the carnage that HIV/AIDS has wrought all over the world as “a scare” that “didn’t move public opinion”, because surely even the most ardent TRA will go “er, hang on a minute”?

Ffs! My daughter is 6. She has a crush on one of her classmates and claims they are married 😅. Should I storm down to school and insist they call her by her married name? Take her out of school if she isn’t allowed to sit with her husband at lunch time? No of bloody course not because she is 6 and lives in a fantasy world sometimes and isn’t old enough to even really understand the difference! If I went along with every little daydream of hers and didn’t correct her she would be a world famous YouTubing dog with a husband, 2 kids and at least 6 ponies. And live on a diet of breadsticks and crisps. And 0 sleep because she’s never actually tired, just sometimes bored. Maybe I’m holding her back…😅

What these people fail to realise is that there are many, many incidents of women refusing medical care/beauty treatments/therapy from men and those males have no problem with it whatsoever. Even when I've had medical appointments that aren't too 'personal' ie just a check up with clothes on and the receptionist has said it's a male I'll be seeing, they've always asked if that's OK. I've never refused but I get the impression it would be fine if I did. When I had my eldest children (25-30 years old) there was a male midwife on the local NHS Trust team. He was lovely and always double checked if the Mum was OK with him doing the appointment, even if it was just a weigh in check up. If the Mum said no he was absolutely fine and passed to a colleague.
People like the AGP in the original post are just farming the shame for the kink.
But then, we all knew that.

I love JKR, I'm very grateful to her for everything she's done and her wealth and untouchability meant the conversations that needed to happen was smashed open and couldn't be cancelled back into its box.

I suppose it's the difference between trying to a have a nuanced level headed discussion about immigration versus using derogatory terms about migrants to make your point.

I don't believe gender identity is real, but I also don't believe in flinging slurs at anyone who believes they are trans. A football manager who wants long hair and a woman's name for me comes under "who cares". It's not in the same league as Leah Thompson and when you refer to trans people as cross dressers you make it easy for the GC crowd to decry you as just a bigot, rather than someone whose quite rightly standing up for women's rights.
In this case JKR responded to an article in the DM, stating the truth, that the newly appointed manager is male - not targeting anyone, just a response to something which is in the public domain. It is important that we have someone of JKRs stature responding to these stories in the media - a lot of people believe that transwomen have actually had surgery and are women as a result and don't see this gaslighting as an issue until it's too late.
