Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller both signed the JK Rowling defend petition.
I didn’t know that, very glad to hear it.

God almighty! Is that all?
His full quote:
‘Graham Linehan has long been one of my favourite writers - and this book shows that his brilliance in prose is the equal to his brilliance as a screenwriter. It unfolds with the urgency of a Sam Fuller film: that of a man who has been through something that few have experienced but has managed to return, undaunted, to tell us the tale' Richard Ayoade

I'm not a fan of Ricky Gervais but, fair play, he did material on the absurdity of women with roosters and sailed away unscathed. I couldn't see him issuing an apology either.
Yes Ricky is staunchly GC!

Yeah, I loathe Gervais but glad he's GC. Funny that he gets zero stick compared to the likes of JKR - almost as though they hate women for having an opinion.(n)

Yeah Richard Ayoade is trending second on Twitter now and most comments are squinnying/whining about being gutted about his quote. These people are so thin-skinned.
How funny/ironic, Richard Ayoade says something complimentary about the guy who wrote the IT crowd, which starred Richard, and made him into a celebrity and opened many doors for him!!

And people dont like it!!

I think it's more a case of knowing that a) RG won't back down and b) He has a huge following and that would be a lot of people potentially becoming aware of the realities. TRANS makes the point that this has been a very insidious, sneaky movement.

I'm surprised Jonathan Ross has been quoted on the book. I thought one of his daughters was trans and I'm sure he is close friends with Neil Gaiman who Glinner does not like - who is on the TRA side. Interesting.

EDIT: Oh! Apparently not. JR tweeted this in 2020.
“I struggle to understand the opinions of intelligent men I previously admired – Jon Ronson and Billy Bragg – that strike me as tragically ill-informed and depressingly self-aggrandising. I know you are paying a heavy price for this G, but I admire and applaud you.”

That's great.
Jonathan’s two daughters Honey and Betty (can’t speak for his son, who seems low key) are a large activist and chronic illness warrior respectively. They aren’t going to be pleased that their dad is associating with TERFs.

It’s ironic that despite all their wealth and privilege - or perhaps because of - they’ve fallen victim to two of the most pervasive cults affecting young people.

Whenever I see a list of illnesses appearing together in a young woman (it’s always women with fibro, POTS, chronic fatigue, EDS and more recently: long Covid) I know straight away that there’s more to it than meets the eye and there’s definitely mental illness involved.

Whenever someone notable/famous steps out of line (according to the too-online-twitter-types) it is a pretty insightful look into how unhealthy para-social relationships can be.

Have you read The Ink Black Heart? It’s such a fantastic observation on this. (Unsurprisingly)

I don't know why people feel the need to go onto twatter to make statements anyway?

I think what’s interesting is the way the TRAs jump to people being ‘hateful’ just because their opinion is different to theirs. Perfectly lovely, caring people can express concern or and ask questions and this doesn’t make them hateful ffs. It’s a form of gaslighting to suggest so. But it’s all they’ve got.

Most people are still on the ‘no harm in pronouns’ depth of thought on this, including most celebrities who see people being cancelled and so stay out of it on socials. None of them would want to encounter the vile protestors Maya and Helen put up with up close, none of them would be happy at intimidating men in fetish gear coming out of a stall behind them (imagine seeing that in the mirror washing your hands), they would be heartbroken at their child demanding life changing surgeries.
They aren’t seeing the reality of it at all.

I think they are all naturally GC and will get braver as more and more of the reality hits, it’s a shame the brave women who lead the charge are being punished.

Dara O’Briain and Robin Ince are disguised misogynists who are taking the opposite view of science (Robin who does a science podcast) to white knight trans people.

Also several hospitals in the US have stopped trans surgeries. It appears insurers are getting nervous about potential liability claims. I hope there is a class action somewhere against these butchers.

Oh the outage:

“SIR, I am a gynecologist, and I take care of real women. I have no skills to take care of MEN, even if they have shaved their beards and come to tell my secretary that they [have] become women. My GYNECOLOGICAL examination table is not suitable for examining men. You have specialized and very competent services to take care of men like you,” Acharian wrote, emphasizing his text with capitalized letters. “Thank you for informing TRANS people to never come for consultation with me.”

So basically what the complainer is saying is that it is far more important for his partner to be validated in their gender identity, than to receive proper medical care, and yet its not a mental illness.

I was very disappointed at Dara O'Briain - he's a physiicist, FFS! And always came across as very intelligent to me, but he either believes it (he doesn't) and is therefore stupid, or he doesn't believe it (of course he doesn't believe it) but is too greedy and self-interested to care about anything except his bank balance.

Robin Ince is, IMO, a creepy little fecker in every respect and his adoration at the altar of trans doesn't surprise me at all. I just hope that Brian Cox doesn't share his views because my cold, hard heart would shatter into - well, possibly two pieces.

I love this gynaecologist! I have never met him, yet I would lay down my life for him.

nd he is obviously very good at his job because he does not give a merde about anyone's opinion, and knows he will retain his patients.
