A female Labour councillor (in Brighton - where else?) has been put in her place and promised to ‘educate’ herself for daring to like a tweet which said that women were female and deserved protections. They are stamping all over us and it’s being allowed to happen. Women are being forbidden from speaking their minds.

“I apologise unreservedly for endorsing these social media posts which contain anti-trans sentiments.

“I recognise that they are offensive to the transgender community and I am deeply sorry for the hurt caused by this.

“I am committed to undergoing training to better understand the lived experiences of transgender people and with the aim of becoming a good trans ally.”

The leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, Bella Sankey, followed up with:

“I want to reassure the trans community that any expressions of anti-trans sentiment in any form will not be tolerated.

“Councillor Thomson has now, rightly, apologised unreservedly for her actions. I have also taken the decision to remove Cllr Thomson from her lead role on City Centre Renewal, while further investigation is carried out and subject to her completing training.

‘Completing training’. It’s so bleeping sinister. I see the councillor concerned has also deleted her X account.

I think Roisin Murphy will walk away from all this in a far better place than those who are coming out against her. The album is selling phenomenally well. I follow her on Instagram and for every person who comments on her posts about how "disappointed" they are in her, there are many more stepping up to respond that she's said nothing wrong and pointing out that there's no evidence to show that puberty blockers are safe. It's like so many people have done what they've been urged to do and EdUcAtEd tHeMsElVeS. The TRAs will be gutted that they shouted "educate yourself" at so many, because that's what they've done.

Ninja Tune & BBC are doing themselves no favours
And when you think about the other types of music that the BBC is happy to play without question: grime, hip-hop, rap and other genres which much of the time glorify violence or misogynism within the actual lyrics. They get played with no comment, yet someone gives their opinion on puberty blockers, and their unrelated music is suddenly beyond the pale. Absolutely shocking.

I’m still so angry at Caitlin Jenner because I really feel that his transition normalised AGPs for a lot of people. The general public felt that they kind of knew him from his sporting career and family and so felt that his transition wasn’t problematic. I think he’s a totally creep, he undermines women and is in it only for himself 😡

Saw Caitlin Jenner replied to a person showing a bar in America had put pictures of Caitlin/Bruce pre and post transition to differentiate men’s and women’s loos and and asked if Caitlin would find that funny? Caitlin said funny as hell. And it is funny.

But now I also object because putting a trans woman as a picture on a woman’s bathroom is misleading and will imply TMIs can go in there. So they have ruined a funny joke because perverts will take it as a green light to invade women’s spaces. I hate how humourless this makes me. But we can’t rely on the joke being men won’t go in there.

It’s so sinister. What is the bigger picture here? Honestly, it’s like there is some big high level conspiracy that is bullying and brainwashing everyone to believe the impossible. Anyone daring to publicly question it is shamed, cancelled and told to ”educate” themselves. It’s like some totalitarian nightmare that everyone has to go along with.
Why though. I find the books for young children very disturbing. Why are they pushing sexual matters so hard on children who should just be allowed to be children? Is it to try and normalise the disgusting “minor attracted” perverts?
Is it to put women back in “their place“ by pushing horrible outdated stereotypes? Young women are pushed into being overly sexually objectified and told it’s empowering. I would hate to be young now, where you are almost expected to dress and look a certain way.
Sorry for the lengthy rant but I hate this so much. The thing is, in real life, I know no one who believes this. It’s everywhere in the media, TERFS are seen as the most hateful, evil bigots imaginable. In real life, everyone I know thinks gender ideology is stupid and makes no sense.

Call Me Caitlyn was what peaked me. The pose, the outfit, the notion that hair and make up and a submissive pose is what makes a woman 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

The way I see it, cross dressing used to be mired in shame. It was done behind closed doors, or at secret transvestite meet ups and clubs.

Suddenly, AGPs are told that they can live out their fetish, 24/7 and in public. Best of all, if they’re ridiculed, it’s a hate crime. Of course they grab the opportunity with both hands.
Exactly this. What was once a behind closed doors fetish is now celebrated as stunning and brave 🤢

Exactly this. A few years ago, most transvestites and AGP’s would be sneaking around the house having a crafty tank in their wife’s panties and frilly nighties on a Saturday afternoon while she was away shopping and none the wiser. Now they are stunning and brave and the poor wives are pilloried if they don’t go along with it.

Why are there so many older men transitioning though? I have considered they've been happy with cross dressing up until present madness. Still.
I was browsing through my LinkedIn and came across a list of suggestions for connections. Now let's say one was Mary Smith and I thought (based on where this person now worked), I thought Ooh, that's must be John's (a colleague of mine from 10 years ago) wife until I took a closer looked and realised it was in fact John. Downright shocked, his desk used be always full of pics of his wife and kids.

This is absolutely ridiculous! not my type of music but I’ve just bought her album. I’m furious at how she has been treated.
At least she's having the last laugh as it's seemingly her most successful album to date. It's reassuring to think the general public have been so supportive

Wow how complicated a debate this has become! Sexual liberation has changed the whole landscape. What was once regarded as dirty or forbidden or porn, has somehow become mainstream, which feels awful. There is no way young children should be exposed to this kind of language or concepts.

Im longing desperately for past times, when the most salicious books available were things like Lady Chatterlys lover, which was virtually vanilla compared to some of these other books! And even Lady Chatterly was initially censored and banned !

On one level I dont agree that books should be censored, as to some extent they are limited by someones reading age and conceptual understanding a small child shouldnt be able to understand the language of porn. As children get into their late teens maybe it is appropriate to read slightly grittier material. But, it needs monitoring!

However, The books that the senator was quoting from, are not suitable for children at all, Im not saying the issue was anything to do with the sexuality described either, describing a heterosexual encounter in this much graphic detail would also be entirely inappropriate.

Whatever happened to the idea of Chris and Alex meeting and going into the bedroom and just closing the door!! leaving almost everything to the imagination?
There is an awful lot of lazy writing about- There are so so many classic novels where sexual events are described, but by using metaphors. some of which are positive, some of which are negative, Even something like ''Brave New World'' which I thought was pretty explicit are tame compared to this kind of writing intended for children!!.

The world has gone mad.

And rightly so.

One of the things that has destroyed the safety of women and children is that there is not enough shame in our society now.

And by that, I don't mean shaming women for having babies and no husband, or shaming people of either sex for being attracted to others of the same sex - of course not. I mean that things which are obviously perverted, corrupting, dangerous and exploitative - like paedophilia, bestiality, AGP etc SHOULD continue to be regarded as shameful. If people indulging the "lesser" of these (eg cross-dressing) keep their "kinks" behind closed doors - fine - that's their business and damages no-one else, but anything which impacts other people, particularly vulnerable women, children and animals should be called out every single time and SOCIETY should back up the complainers.

So many of these "harmless individual preferences" are just forerunners of much worse. It is well documented that almost all serious offenders begin with "minor" crimes and progress to worse ones as they develop confidence. And now the very law of the land is giving them that confidence. They are given opportunities to indulge themselves, then they take advantage of those opportunities to go further and further with their offensive and often increasingly violent behaviour, and even when apprehended tend to get laughably paltry sentences - and to serve them in the prison of their choice!

It is appalling.

Yes! Bring back kink shaming. Get rid of “sex work is work”. Get rid of porn positivity and teaching sex positivity to little kids. It’s all inextricably linked and it’s all about breaking down societal norms that are primarily to protect women and children.

Isn't that case still ongoing in the courts? I suspect there'll be an uproar similar to Isla Bryson when it gets to sentencing and the press can report freely.
It got reported at first IIRC and then surpressed. I’m not sure what I should even post this if it’s an ongoing case, but I will just say for the record that I saw comments on news sites local to where this happened and many commentators were saying this person was notorious in the area and this incident saddened but didn’t surprise them.

Accessible porn plays a huge part. Now it's deemed as 'kink shaming' if you call out someone for wanting to choke, hit or spit on a woman during sex and women and girls are increasingly pressurised to take part in aggressive and even violent sex as they think it's the norm.

A boy growing up when I was young might possibly have had access to the odd porn mag here and there but the boys in my year often talked about the lingerie pages in the Grattan catalogue as being risqué - now you have hard core porn available 24/7 on their phones.
