To be fair, according to the Instagram of the guy above, he identifies as a man. So it's not like he's saying he's trans.

If he wants to wear a dress or nail varnish while still acknowledging he's a guy, I don't see the harm. Just me, though.

I think the harm is that he is running Feminism accounts..

I completely respect men choosing to make aesthetic choices that are more commonly associated with women, but he’s provided a stupid quote saying his form is neither male or female. Also, this is completely my interpretation, but to me it just seems like it’s meant to be provocative and attention seeking, rather than someone relaxing and expressing themselves in a way that feels natural to them.

There is a huge community of adoptees who would disagree with you. I'm adopted, had a loving family who raised me as their own and I still have complex ptsd as a result which has impacted every bit of my life, and I spent years struggling and feeling unable to talk about it because I was so "lucky" to have a family who loved me and to have avoided foster care and all anyone ever said was "oh how lovely" when I told them I was adopted and I was terrified of looking ungrateful.

I found out in my 30s there are thousands upon thousands of adoptees who struggled just like me. It's taken years of therapy to even try and unpick it all, that I still can't talk to my parents about because I love them and don't want to hurt them. And I'm one of tbe lucky ones.

The idea that someone would deliberately recreate what happened to me is abhorrent to me, no matter if they're the most wonderful parents in the world.

My ex was adopted at 4 days old. He had so many issues despite having the most wonderful family ever. Something I couldn’t understand as my family were neglectful and abusive. I think, unless you’ve been adopted, it’s difficult to know how it feels. He had years of counselling and still has such a fear of rejection

My understanding is that intersex people (which make up something like 0.06% despite what Mhairi Black keeps saying) continually keep saying to the trans community stop including us. My limited understanding is that an intersex person has no outward signs that they are intersex. So why are they been included in this day? It just feels like trans are yet again trying to co-opt more people under their umbrella.

It can also be attributed to trauma imprinting which is passed genetically from parents and despite adopted children being giving a wonderful childhood multiple issues can manifest at any point during childhood. We have several friends who have adopted children that are experiencing a variety of issues right now. There was studies down with children of holocaust survivors which showed changes in certain genes that where not present in jewish children born to Parents that lived outside Europe during the war.

For anyone interested in the views of adoptees and donor conceived people, the Facebook groups "Adoption: Facing Realities" and "Donor Conceived People, Siblings, Parents and Donors" have been very helpful and educational to me.
