I tried wild for a few months last year during lockdown and hated the bloody thing. It didn't work for me at all. I found the deodorant really oily so that, combined with sweat... gross and uncomfortable. I think their advice is to apply more during the day but I'd have to wipe it all off and reapply from the start due to said oiliness!! The scents are nice though. Dunno if it's just me but my body didn't adapt to it, but I've heard similar from other people.

they're not very oily and some scents can even be a little dry.. might have been the batch if these were all done at the same time,, i have heard from users and them that some people take a couple of weeks or so to get used to transitioning to natural deodrants which seems to involve sweat issues . I;ve never had any trouble nor have a lot of users I know but some took a while for their body to get used. it's not uncommon and not restricted to this brand , but a change from sprays etc to natural..

That’s a councillor for the Green Party saying that. There’s literally a 10+ thread on the site that cannot be named linked with the actual woman involved contributing.

He said something along the lines of if Queen had formed today they'd have to have been more racially diverse. And have a trans person.

Do you not think that having men able to self-ID as women to get into rape support groups constitutes fucking women over? Or elderly women in care homes who aren't allowed a sex preference for those doing their personal care, or even just women wanting to change in a women's-only changing room where staff have been told they have to let in anyone who is carrying clothes marketed as women's? How about young girls who have been brought up as trans because they preferred to play with cars, and the young women who are dealing with the lasting trauma of having their breasts removed as teenagers? I'm glad you personally don't feel we're being fucked over, but some of us do, and I really don't think being concerned about self-ID or the erosion of women's sex-based rights makes me a bigot.

Is that happening? Can you give me an example of women’s sex based rights being violated?

I’m listening to the podcast Gender A Wider Lens (definitely recommend as talks about everything we talk about here). And he is a guest on this episode I’m listening to. Looked him up on Twitter and reading some things about him being a AGP apologist but I can’t find what he’s actually said. He’s coming across well on this podcast though.

I’m much more wary about where I shop now. I body swerved Lush the other day while out Christmas shopping. Never again will I shop in there. Good idea to check the website of a company you’re buying from, it will quite often give you clues if they are pro trans. Like that deodorant company I was going to buy from, until I read on their website they ask all their employees to put their pronouns on their email. Great, I now know not to buy from you, byeee!

I've just starting watching the documentary about rape on C4 that was on a few weeks ago. 71% of ALL crimes investigated by Avon and Somerset police are sex crimes. That, to me, is even more shocking that the dismal rape conviction rate.

Avon and Somerset police are horrendous, especially with women. They cover such a wide area and don’t really understand policing rural communities. They have already had to refer themselves twice to the IOPC in the matter of weeks because 3 people were murdered (a woman and her husband and another woman a few weeks prior).

Off topic, but when I'm not working I use gycolic acid toner under my arms. The low ph kills the bacteria that cause the BO. Have also stopped using Lush which has cost me my favourite cruelty free perfume

Without sounding like a kill joy glycolic acid will lighten the skin and it doesn’t remove the sweat. I’ve seen it all over social media and I do worry about those with darker skin tones because the lightening effect may become quite noticeable.

I'm a scientist myself so just a comment on how papers are published: journals have an "impact factor" which is generally used to denote journals that are more "important" than others or have more influence, with a higher IF having more prestige and being tougher to get published in. The original paper linked is in BJOG with an IF of 6.531.
For reference, the top science journals Nature and Science have 17 and 41. The highest rated journal now is 435.

Just because something is published in a scientific journal doesn't necessarily mean that it's "good science" or will have much influence on the area of research so I wouldn't take much from this one paper.

(p.s. Obviously impact factor is a bit more complicated that this and has been criticised but just my 2 cents)
