I'm watching Loose Women, they are talking about menopause and how testosterone can help but isn't allowed to be prescribed for women on the NHS, I am pretty sure trans women can get it though?

Related but not linked - has anyone here ever written to their MP about protecting women's sex-based rights and if so what kind of response did you get?

Yes, I've written to both my MP and my MSP on separate occasions. Neither of them bothered to reply, although I know the emails were received because I got the standard holding 'Thank you for your email, if you haven't included your address please resend with it included as we can't reply to people not in the constituency' automatic email response. The MP is Jamie Stone, so I'm banging my head against a brick wall there, the MSP at the time was Gail Ross, so ditto.

Totally agree. The headline is misleading. Nobody is obligated to tell some bloke in a club anything just because he chats them up.

Fair enough with the chatting, I did say the headline was a bit misleading but it is the kissing for me that is a bit underhanded particularly as apart from the taking the other person's free choice away I could imagine religious issues would enter into it, Bolton is quite a multi cultural area.

I've been to an event where Sisters Uncut led the proceedings - women on mics flagged by some very burly trans-identified men. No, thank you.

This is unbelievable ridiculous, I didn't know that much about Sisters Uncut but from their campaigning about cuts to DV services etc I would have assume they were radical feminists, disappointing.
what exactly would be the difference between non binary and a gender? surely that is the same?

For sure, but their logic is that it's not homophobic because you "don't fancy people's chromosomes" (as opposed to an internal identity and ''gender'') and in fact, anyone who refers to themselves as either 'homosexual' or 'same sex attracted' is the real homophobe because that's medicalised language. I sort of see what they mean by medicalised language, but they've also took our language to describe ourselves so medicalised language is all we're left with to use and describe ourselves accurately.

I don't think anyone can claim ownership of a particular custom. You can buy catholic-stlye prayer candles with the Real Housewives of New York on them. I'm sure devout Catholics may be offended, but we thankfully have freedom of thought and speech.

I can just picture those naff festivals with powder paints and people wearing binds and Thai fishermen pants. It may not be to my taste, but anyone should have the freedom to wear what they like and throw colourful powder around if they wish.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree then, because (taking Holi as an example) I think Hindus can quite literally claim ownership of covering yourself and other people in vibrant powder paint. I’m not talking about cave paintings, I’m talking about a very very specific annual spectacle which, until the 21st century, was entirely specific to Hinduism.

I mean look at this. You can’t deny this is entirely inspired by the Holi festival.

is it going ot end up that the terms women/girl are basically for trans people /people who don't care about our rights being eroded and we have to invent another term? this is all just........ I have send those tweets from earlier about the cancer thing etc to another female friend... her comment was "surely this is a spoof account?"

I first saw videos of Nikkitutorials and didn’t realise to be honest - but when she was presenting Eurovision, she was two foot taller and a foot wider than the women presenters. Just a different scale. It was so obvious.

I think because Dutch people are tall that is why no one really questioned their height - but on the topic of Nikkie - this is completely off topic. I hate their makeup tutorials. Beautiful at eyeshadow but their skin work is terrible, it is them just layering on foundation, concealer and powder too thickly and apply layers after layers. Very few beauty YouTuber who are “experts” know how to work with makeup, they only know what works on them. Several filters, lighting, filler, hundreds of euro of skincare, a perfectly symmetrical face thanks to their surgeon is why their makeup looks good.

Also, most youtuber makeup artists that I know of have makeup like a drag queen.

Same, but that was a good decade ago now, when she was younger. I know a lot of TRAs think if kids are able to transition, they'll be able to pass better. I still think as trans women age it becomes more obvious they are males, even if they transitioned pretty young.

I think she is aussie but lives in the US (or vice versa) Yeah I have no idea why it was recommended to me, she is the kind of person who has refused the vaccine and uses the term "sheep"... so I have no idea what the youtube algorithm is doing for me? Finally listened to the Nolan Investigation podcast last night / this morning. It's very good isn't it, well worth listening too although I found it hard not to shout at my phone when Owen H was being interviewed. I did find it funny that he couldn't even explain some of his own beliefs and ideologies.

what is the podcast? would be interested to listen to Owen unable to justify his ridiculous viewpoints

I was watching a game show called The Tournament earlier and there was a TIM on there. They ended up winning and were obviously very intelligent so good for them. But they sounded and looked like a bloke. I struggle to pretend that referring to someone who looks and sounds like a man as ‘she’ is in any way normal. Maybe I’m a terrible person.
