Was Points of View run by the Beeb's complaints department? The response to anything not fawning was basically always 'thanks for your letter - we're right, you're wrong'.

Me too! 2lb 4 ounces, 2 months premature, spent the first months of my life in GOSH.
I think that another huge problem is that the largest growth in the trans group is young girls/women thinking that they're either trans or NB. So, for many people, the only trans people they know personally or are properly aware of, are female. This means that they don't see or understand any of the issues that you've mentioned in your post.
Also, the constant talk of, and focus on, toilets doesn't help. They don't connect the dots to see that if you let men identify into using toilets, they will then also be in CRs, hospital wards, providing intimate care to women, strip-searching women, be in women's prisons, play in women's sports etc.
We really struggled with raising awareness of these more important issues because of the success of 'no debate'; 'be kind' and the total capture of institutions such as the BBC and so many public bodies including the NHS and the police. We completely lost that battle and it's still hindering our progress unfortunately.
Even now, people aren't aware of the irreversible harms that PB and cross-sex hormones do. Nor do they understand that it's young girls mainly who are privately sourcing these dangerous drugs. They think it's all fairly harmless. They'll only know and understand when, inevitably, the law suits start. And sadly, the damage will have been done to countless confused young people.
The whole thing is incredibly depressing tbh. I honestly don't know how I'd cope without you guys and my local WRN.
But it's great to see new people on the thread and to have the common sense posts receiving so many upvotes.

TW - you are nothing to us. We are quite happy to let you get on with your porn-addled lives - just don't interfere with ours or those of our children. You keep banging on about "trans rights' (by which you mean trans privileges, and "trans equality" by which you mean favouritism. You know what real equality is? Having the same rights as everyone else? No more, no less. And you have those.
When homosexuality, and later gay civil partnerships became legal, THAT was true equality because if gave same-sex attracted people the same rights in law that everyone else already had, and quite rightly. It didn't give them extra rights to complain if anyone "looked at them funny", or refused to use some made-up title for them, or complained that they disagreed with their way of life. They were aware that other people may have differing opinions, and accepted that they were entitled to have them, but not to discriminate against anyone because of them.
TW also have those rights, and non-trans also have the right to disagree with them., but as far as they are concerned it seems it should be a capital offence not to agree with every golden word that drops from their lips. They have to be the centre of everything otherwise it isn't fair.

Excellent post Micey. I agree with every word. I also think there is something that seems to go hand in hand with TIM, and it seems to be the lack of any attempt to be a normal, decent human being. They WANT to offend, cause discomfort, have a chip on their shoulder the size of the Grand Canyon. They are looking for praise and being elevated to a special status that everything is about them. They have to obliterate anything that relates to real women, no doubt because they hate us as we represent what they will never be.
They wish violence and death with anyone who disagrees. No one is allowed an opinion that is different from theirs.
You see them ranting and spewing out their absolute hatred and still people seem to think they are poor delicate victims.
They have an attitude, behaviour and aggression that is so typically male .
They are invariably physically repulsive and enhance this by dressing in a vile pornified way that real women would be slated for. The long greasy hair with male pattern baldness and an aversion to soap and water is not a very feminine look. I’m sure they know they look weird and enjoy it.
I know the “be kind” brigade would call me transphobic. I don’t think that having a fear of men like these is irrational. They look wrong, give me the absolute creeps and I do not want to be around them.
BIB - This is an excellent observation. Many years ago I worked in the health service. In our department I encountered transexual men - every one of them knew he was a man, but was uncomfortable with his sexed body. Every one of them knew this was a mental illness. Effectively, I suppose, they had a phobia about their own bodies. They just wanted to live in a way that made them feel as much like women (or perhaps more accurately, as little like men) as possible. Some would pass for women at a distance; some were very beautiful; some looked immediately like what they were - men in dresses. All of the, without exception, just wanted to lead a quiet life, drawing as little attention to themselves as they could and coping with their life-crippling dysmorphia . These men were not fetishists - they were ill, and they were aware of it. They were a different "breed" entirely to the violent, perverted fetishists that dominate now. What we are seeing now isn't illness, it isn't dysmorphia or dysphoria - it is fetishism and opportunism with a good barrowful of misogyny thrown in. They are dangerous. It would be irrational NOT to be afraid of them.
I got a patronising reply to my complaint about that:
