Billionaire scared of losing her job :ROFLMAO: I have the utmost respect for JK and any person who raises their head above the parapet but she is nowhere near as brave as some of the other Women who joined this fight years earlier and actually did have something to lose. Women like Maya Forstater, Helen Joyce, KJK, all banging the drum years before JK.
Thats not what I meant. I meant she speaks up for people who have a fear of losing their job - nowadays. Yes there were trailblazers but she is doing great work now.

I am autistic so im sorry if my message didn't come out right the first time

Hoping for some words of encouragement. I’m due to go to a big sports match tomorrow with my bf and some of his work associates. He knows a couple of them well and would speak outside work but not all. He’s warned me (he is against GI too) that there is a MAN who mostly dresses like a man (usual male office attire) but sometimes wears a wig and dress. I assume he’ll be dressed as a man tomorrow. But that’s not my main issue. The issue is, he’s had a boob job!!!!! My bf said it looks bleeping awful, like full on boobs, bigger than mine, but usually seen wearing normal men’s clothes and no wig. Surely this is classic perv behaviour and also, maybe I’m naïve but what surgeon does this on a ‘male presenting’ (!!) man?! I am actually dreading being anywhere near him. I will be giving him the cold shoulder and don’t want anyone to think I am in his company. I’m dreading even being introduced to him as I know I’ll be looking at his fake boobs under his M&S men’s shirt 😭😭😭
If introduced be polite and quickly move on. When you leave someone's company at a party, manners don't require you to say why, at all. Be it the loo, seeing a friend arrive or anything else. It's just, nice to meet you, pardon me, whatever and walk away. You don't announce why you're leaving. Just think you are a first class socialite and mingle.

What an awful situation to be in! Here's hoping you can be seated as far away as possible, or are you in a corporate box that requires mingling?
We are in a box together 😖 I just hope I can stay glued to my bf and tell him to give him a wide berth. Luckily he knows my aversions to creeps like that so hopefully he will say hello and avoid for the day. I’ve never been in a box so not sure how it works. Ugh, I am feeling all anxious about it. Thanks perv! Never met one in real life!

Best of luck, we're all here if you need to sneak off and vent!

Ugh, good luck, I don't think I would be able to hide the disdain on my face.

And regarding surgeons, the reason will be 💲💲💲 and possibly sick curiosity in some cases.

I wonder if this Amnesty case will prove to be something of a tipping point? For years organisations could win “ally points” by spouting any rubbish as long as it aligned with gender identity being prioritised above all else, but Amnesty's highly offensive, and very public, game of FAFO might make other organisations think twice in the future.

I really hope so. I also think that horrible Herbert thing at Aberdeen University is really showing up the absolutely vile mindset of so many of these TIM. I really hope that this helps bring attention to what these men are like, and why it isn’t bigoted to want to give them a very wide berth. Women’s rights are for our safety and dignity. The feelings of vile, grubby porn addled men should not come into it.

I hope this is sort of on topic, in as much as we live in a world which seems to ignore the obvious!!

My mother in law has dementia, and we were talking on the phone about sending photos of a new baby to her. My initial thoughts were, how on earth am I meant to do this, as she can no longer go online, access emails, or use digital or mobile phones! Then i realised she was talking about me actually sending photos to her in the mail!

Then it occurred to me.. My understanding of the concept of sending photos has just changed so much in recent years! .language has changed so much over the past few years, no wonder Dementia is becoming so much more obvious and so much more noticeable! 30 years ago, everyone would be taking photos, developing them at pronto print or similar, and it would have been easy to send photos by snail mail in the actual post to someone.

So peoples memory loss or difficulties in accessing new memories wouldnt be nearly as obvious! Or quite so significant, as the world as they get older would be likely to be more or less the same as the world they lived in when they were younger!

I know things change over time, and change is progress and often good, but somewhere along the line, maybe we need to be considering that life needs to go at a slower pace, and that changes are not automatically better, and that we need to take account of the needs of everyone.... including older and elderly people !!

I get the point that one is a woman and one is a man, but You cant really compare JK Rowling and Ricky Gervais though!

JK has never deliberately tried to court that much controversy in her work, although perhaps in the Strike novels she does attack certain kinds of characters, rich, pompous and arrogant! and certain kinds of behaviours.

whereas Ricky Gervais has deliberately set out to offend and to be antagonistic at times. So he has had to deal with the negativity, has had death threats and an awful lot of negative stuff thrown at him after hosting at the Oscars or whatever it was he did in America. But I dont think he cares particularly? He learnt a long time ago that his media image was just that...an image, and that it didnt directly relate to his actual personality.
His comedy, ''Life After Death'' was so bittersweet. And I got a totally different interpretation of him recently when they were interviewing him about ''The office'' Having met and known people like this, I hadnt realised quite how much of an objectionable person David Brent was meant to be, and how totally unlike Ricky Gervais he was.

There's a very good documentary along those lines called Surviving Progress (2011). As I recall it was a bit too early to cover trans ideology, which is definitely the bad kind of progress.

Transgender Neo-Nazi sent to women’s prison in Germany

I love how this guy is showing the absurdity and dangers of self-id. And the Germans have been hoist by their own petard. Even though they know he's lying, they are bound to follow their own laws.

But no, these things never happen and it's transphobic to suggest that it might.🙄

Ha, good. About time these misogynistic, narcissistic, holes had their collars felt.

ETA: (An awful shame that these are the circumstances, obviously)

Good!

It looked as though he was going to get away without any repercussions for his vile, hate-filled comments.

I hope he loses his job - he brings the university into disrepute IMO - but even if he only gets the proverbial slap on the wrist, this is so much more than what has happened before. A step in the right direction.

At some point people have to stop equating words with violence. They may be offensive, you may disagree with them, they may challenge your internal sense of self and leave you feeling a certain way but they are not the same as the physical threat posed by men to women every hour of their lives.

Men are afraid women will laugh at them (or use unapproved words), women are afraid men will kill them.
