In Canada's defence, the beginning relates to ongoing concern, stands for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirit people, along with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual individuals.
Is it a defence though? Lumping all of these disparate groups into one “oppressed” umbrella category?

But why would missing/murdered be amalgamated into the sexuality-based acronyms?
I don’t know I didn’t invent it - just had a google of it when I didn’t recognise it. I think Canada has or has had an epidemic of missing and murdered indigenous women. I think the context of marginalised people might be where you’d use this?

I just didn’t think it’s something to poke fun at, whatever your thoughts on the alphabet stuff and whether all these groups need to be lumped into one homogenous group, addressing the marginalisation of groups people don’t often acknowledge isn’t a bad thing in my eyes.

Anyway

My local BBC news tonight have been covering a story about someone running the London Marathon in memory of their grandmother who had Alzheimer’s. Out of everybody competing, this was the person they chose to profile.

I agree with you on this one, although not with MMIW being lumped in with trans. I mentioned on here a few months ago that Canada has a road known as The Highway of Tears due to the sheer amount of Indigenous women that have been murdered or vanished along there. It's a national disgrace up there with their residential schools scandal.
Canada is my home country but i'll never travel there again due to their hypocritical government stance putting loons above everything else yet treating women and the Aboriginal population like tit on their shoes.

Ah yes because missing and murdered indigenous women and girls need to be associated with men in dresses before anyone gives them any attention.

This is just men and their fetished ideology using an actual mariginalised group (not a made up one) as a shield to protect themselves. No MMIWG without the T, right?

This is what doesn’t sit right with me. It’s long been mooted that the T hitched itself to the LGB in an effort towards legitimacy, then subsequently hijacked and cannibalised the representations of decades of anti-homophobia work (the flag, Pride), whilst simultaneously eroding same-sex boundaries (‘gender racists’, was that the term used for those who were strictly same-sex attracted?).

But that wasn’t quite enough, apparently. So now they need to be allied to murdered and missing women, all the better to highlight their self-proclaimed mantle of ‘the most victimised demographic in the world’.

duck that. 🤬

seen out in our rural town tonight - lad looked about 17 in a dress and Doc martens looking excessively anxious, doing laps while waiting. I simultaneously felt sorry for him, but also furious for the schools or colleges that have had to accommodate him and most of all for all the girls he has made uncomfortable with his presence in their spaces. Maybe he hasn’t encroached but my experience is that he will have caused havoc in any space he has entered to accommodate his needs above all others.

So until men can prove they have no advantage in darts surely the answer would be to keep them out. I remember Ross Tucker pointing out that when Oscar Pistorius wanted to race on blades in the Olympics, he had to prove they provided no advantage, it wasn't up to the non blade users to prove he did have an advantage, he was barred until he provided evidence which satisfied the IOC or world atheltics or whoever.

From the way George Simms makes it sound, it seems like it would be fairly easy for a trans woman to prove sex has no advantage so why don't they, why is it always on women to budge up and then be told that we can't prove we're at a disadvantage.

They should not be lumped into a group of which includes mentally ill/perverted people.

Missing and murdered indigenous women should be spoken of in their own right. As should LBG people or any other people.

Advantage is irrelevant. Including men stops it being a women's category.

‘To his mind’. And what qualifies George to make this assertion? What does he know about psychology and physiology?

He has a degree in modern languages. He’s a privately educated pompous wick who thinks he’s standing up for the oppressed but he’s no better than the likes of Andrew Tate. At least Tate doesn’t think he’s one of the good guys
