Anyone going to Houghton Le Spring today for #Oneyearlater?
I think the point was that most media outlets have an agenda, so there's no such thing as an unskewed news source (the BBC's relentless drive to canvass the opinion of a random drag queen in any human interest story being a case in in point)And where did I say I source my news from the BBC?
I couldn’t agree more. The “T” element always strikes me as being like cuckoos. They insert themselves where they don’t belong, and then throw all the others out so that they reign supreme. How can they even insert themselves with LGB when they deny biological sex exists? They want to over ride the boundaries of same sex attracted people. I have no idea what “QI” even is, other than I think “queer” has very unpleasant overtones.
I have zero interest in sex/attraction, never have been, never will be, but I don’t use the “A” word ( even if it is factually accurate) as I have no more in common with LGB than I do with straight people. Plus, it’s no one’s business that I consciously choose not to sleep with people and I’m bloody well not oppressed.
As for the the new letters? What have female victims of crime got to do with ANY of the rest of this. It seems disrespectful and belittling.
That bit at the end ~ "super sad about those murdered women though, the indigenous ones ~ is expertly pitched: "oh yeah, as an after thought we forgot to actually really give a duck about something that is exponentially more important than Derek in a frock getting narked because someone refused to call him 'Desiree'"
Can you give a few clues (if you don't want to name them outright), so that I can add them to my "Nope, not getting my money"? list. I'm always on the lookout for somewhere decent for coffee/lunch in Newcastle (especially since the closure of The Magic Hat), and I don't want to accidentally arrange to meet someone there then see the sticker when it's too late ...Minor merail to point out how daft some businesses are...
Had to go into Newcastle today and fancied a coffee. Found a nice little coffee shop and was just about to enter but noticed a sticker on the door - a toilet in trans colours with the trans symbol. Refused to go in and they lost custom (only about £20 but in this climate you'd think every penny would count to an independent business). Thing is, it was only a small place and I bet they only had - and have only ever had - a single toilet for all customers. They didn't have to pick a side in the trans debate. They could've taken money from TRAs and TERFs but they made it clear they'd rather advertise their Good People Principles and lost a sale.
I wonder up and down the country how many little decisions to not spend money in places are made every day. It's one thing for Marks and Spencer or John Lewis - their profits are massive but for small independents it must make a difference to many of them staying afloat. bleeping madness
So true.Minor merail to point out how daft some businesses are...

I have zero issue naming them, they don't want our bigotty dollars so I'd hate for them to accidentally get them. Couldn't remember so looked at Google street view and it must be Anyone Coffee on Percy St. It's a few doors down from Blackwell's.Can you give a few clues (if you don't want to name them outright), so that I can add them to my "Nope, not getting my money"? list. According to Julie Bindel, he has been sent to a women’s prisonCheshire Police still using female pronouns for this murderer. There is a video of them arresting him.
Sentenced for life today with a minimum term of 27 years.
Not our crimes.
Thanks ~ I'm guessing that being practically next door to the university is a massive factor in them cynically advertising how achingly 'progressive' they are.I have zero issue naming them, they don't want our bigotty dollars so I'd hate for them to accidentally get them. Jesy is on counterpressed which is the podcast I mentioned being totally captured and despite being women’s football focused is also heavy on TWAW which I don’t find fits at all.Another Observer Sports Journalist, this time a female ‘they/them’. Don’t expect the Observer to report the facts any time soon.
