I wonder how Gary’s brother feels about his brother (not sure if older or younger) being stuck up in a bedroom in his parents house.

Wonder what will happen as the parents get older and potentially need cared for. Will Gary step up and fulfill this role or will he still be scarpering off on a Disney cruise to perform karaoke when on a normal day, he’s too anxious to leave his house.

Everyone who complimented Gary singing My Way, this is for you, and you must watch the whole thing 🙃

That thumbnail...

Is Adam on his knees...convincing Gary to walk around theme parks for another vlog series?

He removed the video of him singing on stage at the cruise. Maybe he was scared of the DWP comment 😂

Here's what I've seen happen in my world.

In these situations, the siblings often say nothing because it's what they know and in the back of their heads they are aware that it's not normal but they are not going to go over and open that can of worms, upset their parents, become the bad guy, fracture the family etc so they get along. I know people married into families where the uncle upstairs is never discussed between husband and wife. He's just there, it's all left unsaid and the spouse is never told of any diagnosis beyond 'his nerves bless'

The parents do tend to get left home with this person and the other siblings are usually okay with this because what's the alternative? The alternative is the one who speaks up gets left with the parent(s) and then possibly the brother after they're gone. Much easier to keep the lips glued, maybe your parents stay home and get inadequate care but you're not on the hook for any responsibility. Brother upstairs can also be used as a babysitter and petsitter. In one case I know of, the brother upstairs had to shove over and let his older brother share his bed after the wife threw him out. The mother was running upstairs with 2 cooked breakfasts every morning.

I’m Italian descendant, so it’s normal for multi generations to live under the same roof. My cousins share a house with their parents in Italy but they can afford to have it converted into two large conjoined houses. They have very successful careers and lives. With the cost of living rising, it’s going to become more commonplace.

My issue for me isn’t necessarily Gary living at home; times are tough and are getting tougher, but his attitude towards his situation. The relationship with his parents is not equal, he is still a child, they still do everything for him; cooking, cleaning etc. how he only hangs out with people 10+ years younger than him (and expects them to look after him). He has no interests normal for a man his age. it’s all ducking bizarre when you add it up. None of this is due to anxiety.

it’s also his reluctancy to improve his situation. When people suggest jobs on his live he just ignores them or says he wants to focus on his art. There is so much not right with him.

He went to a screening of Hocus Pocus 2 last night, walked around London, bought pins… but too anxious to get a job…

And he lives in Kent doesn’t he? So would have had to use public transport for over an hour on his own. He’s a fraud.

Social anxiety yet his entire life is just socialising? … extended holidays with friends, day trips with friends, IG lives with hundreds of people… socialising is literally all he has.

Last time I was in Disney, a wheelchair user got on the bus, parked their wheelchair across 4 seats (blocking them all off) and proceeded to stand up and sit in another seat. Pretty much what I'd expect from Gary when I saw him rent that wheelchair he so desperately needed

There's a special place in hell for the folks who abuse the disability services.
