I've slowly started to notice this is the running theme for a lot of "theme park vloggers" They use this "Disney is my escapism" linked in with some sort of mental disorder and use it to justify paying thousands of dollars for a trip to Disney. Why is it that like 98% of Disney Vloggers all suffer from Anxiety or Depression?!?
Yes I’ve noticed this too!! In fact I came to this thread from Disney in Denial’s where I was thinking just that.

Good question. It could be a whole host of things. It could be people desperately scrambling on to their childhood (if they went to Disney as kids), it could be those who had poor or neglectful childhoods and are trying to claw back a “childhood” as an adult. It could also be a narcissistic thing where newer Disney vloggers have realised it’s a good way to make quick money and so are just being exploitative, or it could be people who are lacking a sense of identity and so have essentially adopted Disney as a personality trait, which I think is a common theme in a lot of the Disney vloggers we talk about here on Tattle like Brogan for example

There is nothing wrong with Disney obviously. I’m in my 30s and love it and love going to the parks, but not in an obsessive or unhealthy way and I have not absorbed it as part of my identity!

Of course he’s disappointed the tests came back clear because he can’t claim more taxpayers cash to splurge on pins.
I use to feel bad for him but he really does not help himself at all.

I just have images of 35 years into the future, with Gary’s niece and nephew (who by that point will be about 40, so probably with kids or even grandkids of their own) throwing all this stuff straight in the bin after Gary’s death.

Just what is he buying it for? It’s not even as if he’s displaying them or regularly reflecting on them. He’s just shoving it in a box and eagerly awaiting the hoard from his next trip or online shopping spree.

So anyway, what happened to his stair master? Did that cause him anxiety and depression too so he couldn’t do it anymore?

Do you think he discloses YT income to the benefits office? I know he probably doesn’t make that much but it’s an income non the less.
Being paid with flights and hotels is much more efficient for a Gary. The value he gets every year is more than many earn! Withdraw YT and art money into a pre paid card or leave it in PayPal and use it to pay for pins online - no trace of anything for them to see. Grifters always have their ways. A new claimant who worked since they were 16 will be gone through with a fine tooth comb. - a penny over the limits in your savings and computers says no. Disability payments usually would need several appeals and getting your MP involved. More stressful that the condition you have usually. The career claimants sail on and never get caught. They will sit brazen as you like and insist they need a 6 bedroom house and then drive away in a Mercedes.

im a big proponent of a strong safety net but as it is the system doesn’t give honest people a lift up. It punishes the worker, humiliates the poor and disabled and lets the career grifters get away with murder.

I think most people all know a Gary, in the sense of there’s always someone who has all the excuses to defend being lazy (not having a real
Job, taking handouts) blaming it on a range of things which most people have anyway but get on with life. It’s always a funny coincidence though, that these issues never strike them down when there is a holiday involved

If I was either of them I would be really worried about my future, surely they can't be mincing and shrieking around theme parks in five years time.....let alone ten!?!?
That's what's so odd/disturbing about many of the one's who do this and nothing else. They never, ever mention future life plans, things they did between trips. It's always next Disney trip, last Disney trip and that trip to Costa where we talked about Disney and put stickers in our Disney store planners.

Their 1 task in a whole day is probably - check Virgin upgrade prices.

I’ve always thought there’s a chance he’s not claiming for 2 reasons.
1. Gary gets a review letter, he meets a jobsworth, they ask for documents. Any hassle at all and Gary says it’s all too much for his anxiety and….
2. His parents let him drop out of the system because poor Gary’s anxiety is acting up getting letters in. They’ll give him a few quid and pocket money if he washes dishes.

He could also be one of those people who are largely left alone (long written off as hopeless cases) while Jane gets laid off after 20 years, misses one job centre meeting and gets sanctioned and John who has heart failure has been turned down twice and is appealing again with help from his MP. He seems like the type who would get lucky like that.

It’s when you only do child-like things.
Never seen him show a shred of responsibility or independence or have any interest at anything that isn’t also shared by 12 year old kids.

I think this anxiety /depression is a result of being scared of being an adult.
Bingo! He doesn’t want to grow up. He doesn’t want to be a real adult. He’s content to live as a man child.

Denial seems contagious in the Disney community.

The thought of being called a dad freaked him out because that level of responsibility and maturity seems so far beyond him mentally where he stopped growing 30 years ago. And this is also why he can’t stand the responsibility a job involves. It seems so grown up for him. Bloody weird. Why do people love him? It’s pathetic.

It's the least of his problems obviously but why is he such a cheapskate? Brogan paid for him at that Disney event. Why can't he pay his way for ANYTHING?

34 in the last trip. Over 400 altogether.
Don’t forget the rest

His first Disney trip video (paris) was 2015, so he’s amassed all of that in just 6 years?
