The lack of a reaction by the team for his pole position at the weekend (and in general) is very telling. I say there is a lot of internal politics behind the scenes.

I know we just started this season, but I am shocked that Ocon is doing well. He is great today! I actually thought he would be behind Alonso from day one.

Have to say I do like Ocon maybe because of the Netflix series but he seems a sweetie.
Usual top 3 but not watching race tomorrow as family day out. So might be good as not much might happen race wise tomorrow?

Have you listened to the beyond the grid podcast with Seb. It was last year Sep/Oct time. He came across as so lovely. I am biased as I do love him but he talked about Jody Scheckter’s organic farm. Was very down to earth.

Agree re Alonso...it's all a bit boring when there are loads of other drivers desperate for a seat.
Hamilton apparently isn't feeling 100% after having Covid. I think Russell's fantastic drive has caused a major stink at Mercedes and that's the only reason he's back this weekend.

Totally agree that's why Lewis has rushed back, probably too early.

Great drive by Lando Norris today. Got ahead of Daniel Ricciardo for the priority pit stop, and absolutely solid. That McLaren looks solid, the Ferrari looks good (who knew I would be wanting a Ferrari to do well, just love Sainz now).

Max and Lewis are going to be spicy all season. Bottas just can't get anywhere near them. No. 2 driver. Should've replaced him with Russell.

I think we are going to get a great season.

Would love to see Lando on the podium tomorrow. Hopefully Hamilton/Bottas/Verstappen can have a nice crash and take themselves out. Albon will do an Albon and bottle it. Lando wins, Sainz gets a podium so they can have one last special moment together. And like Gasly can get third.

Well, I can live with hopeless optimism.

Hamilton definitely isn't 100%. Hopefully allows Lando to get podium. Just imagine the scenes if Mercedes decided to not pay Hamilton the £40m he wants and signed Russell.

No doubt Lando has come out fighting this season, knew he had to really up his game against Ricciardo, and apart from that track limits on his final lap, has been amazing in qualifying. But you can still see he has upped his game so far this season.

Grosjean's crash was big news beyond just F1 fans. And there are F1 fans on the Gogglebox sofas, why are they all surprised about the crash happening and Grosjean surviving? Gogglebox are scripting things even more than the Drive to Survive producers.

Yes! Lando winning would be amazing. Would be a dream for him and for us all unless you don't like him or his team, to see someone else doing well. No disrespect to Lewis and Max but too much is about them. Be nice for them to finish 6 and 7th

Haha - my friend dragged me along to one of the races when we were on holiday and I moaned about it for weeks and weeks beforehand. Literally cried on the way there because it was due to be the best weather of the trip. And now I am *obsessed* and am more invested than him!!
