It's not about strategy though with Bottas. He just simply isn't as fast or consistent as Hamilton.

I've lost count the number of times he just falls away from Lewis and ends up several (sometimes dozens of) seconds behind, even when on the exact same strategy.

But then I don't really think there's a problem with that. He's up against one of the greatest drivers of all time, so it's no shame in not being as good. If anything, it rather suits Mercedes to have a driver who is pretty quick but not as good as the other one. Reduces the chances of inter-team conflict and on-track incidents.

I agree completely with everything you said. Toto gives me the impression he could not bear another Rosberg / Hamilton scenario. It was so toxic and the moment Bottas came into the team, Mercedes seemed calmer . I think Bottas has improved having Lewis as his team mate. But he can’t manage his tyres as well as Lewis etc etc.

Fernando Alonso was hit by a car while riding his bike in Switzerland, according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta among others. He was quickly transported to the hospital.

It’s only for three races, can’t imagine it will stick but looking forward to see how it goes. Love it for F2 one thing that sucks is having to do quali on catch up since most of us will be at work. Having said that, I’ve booked the Friday off before Silverstone as I was/am of allowed planning to go so that works well!

McLaren have announced they are downsizing their Brand Centre (motorhome), in the name of reduced logistical expense. Which I totally understand, but I am gonna miss the grand building. I hope they keep it looking pretty though.

I do understand why, and arguably, there isn't really a need for grand team owned motorhomes, just for the European season. They used circuit based facilities at the flyaways.

I get the feeling Valtteri is starting to get really frustrated playing second driver. Did he kneel before the national anthem? I thought I saw him standing but I could be wrong. I know others don't kneel, but I think it really says something if he didn't when Lewis is his teammate (not saying he is racist or anything).
Did everyone else catch Valtteri having a word to Toto during the Mercedes celebration photos? Toto looked to say something quite stern to him.

No, he didn't kneel. He did last season though....mind games maybe? I don't know. He does seem frustrated, yet again it was his pit stop that they messed up! It looked like he and Toto were having words and they were late to the photos being taken. I'd love to know what was said!

It was such a heartwarming video! I'm so glad Carlos is leaving McLaren on good terms and I can't wait to see the Lando/Daniel combo

I was so upset at the George crash I had to put my phone down so I wouldn’t throw it across the room.

Lando P3 made me feel better but why wasn’t Daniel as fast

The Mercedes this year has a lot of rear-instability and except of maybe 3 or 4 drivers (one of them is Lewis) this is something most drivers can't deal with (quite similar to the issues Red Bull had in the past two years). Add on that the fact that the field is generally closer together this year, the difficult conditions (that no doubt exagerate his problem) and that Bottas is not exactly a brilliant racer, and you can get this.
