Hi i'm jumping here from the other f1 thread. How are you all doing?
This info is legit, L'equipe (#1 french sport newspaper) was the first to talk about it yesterday. This morning AutoHebdo (biggest motorsport newspaper here) also published an article about it and they are usually reliable, especially when it comes to Alpine. This is still rumors, nothing is confirmed but nyck de vries was in austria with helmut earlier this week to, apparently, sign a contract for next year which let Pierre free to go to Alpine.

i completely agree i also fully agree that esteban would probably be the easier choice - he has a link with toto and is seen as more consistent and an “easier” driver than pierre (all mentally beaten from red bull) would be. they ultimately will be looking for another bottas for george but they’re never gonna find one!

fully agree on daniel i just hope we see him around in another capacity.

All this being said, in a Reddit thread they’re currently discussing Lando to Mercedes’ in the distant future, I could see that too but think he’d be better suited for red bull in terms of ~vibes~. That’s getting into complete hypotheticals though

yes! though as ferrari fan that was painful to watch

i would even take a 2008 singapore tbh, that’s how desperate i am for something interesting to happen (though with less actual race sabotage!)

Mclaren have a special livery for Singapore and Japan.
I really like it, love the slight gradient on the front wing

i actually really like it too - the pink accents actually combine with the orange really well. the front wing especially looks awesome.

i hope lando and daniel have suits to match this because i would be into that.

Exactly, I was so confused by everyone saying P4. I think we gotta apply his penalty last, first the people starting in the back (like Lewis and Carlos) and then when that’s all settled he’s gonna drop five spots

So Marko has said now that RB won’t stop Gasly from jointing Alpine as long as certain conditions are met. I guess he means dollars.

Spa is a special track in terms of ride height due to the compression in Eau Rouge and a nasty bump in the Stavelot corners. In order to alleviate the impact at these points, the teams have to set their cars five to six millimeters higher than usual. In fact, this time the ground clearance had to be increased by a bit more than the engineers had calculated. This was due to the ominous bump between turns 14 and 15. This put Ferrari and Mercedes in a window in which their aerodynamics no longer delivered the downforce that they were used to.


As a consequence, both teams had to trim the chassis harder than usual, which also cost mechanical grip. The Red Bull felt comfortable with more ground clearance and therefore also reached its normal form. "Over the course of the season, we've shown more than once that our car can handle more ground clearance," confirmed Horner.


The directive could well become a factor that causes disorder at the top. For example on the bumpy Zandvoort circuit, where you could again be forced to drive higher than you want. "Then we could experience a second Spa," fear Mercedes engineers. That would not be good prospects for Ferrari. Maranello hopes that the Hungaroring-like track characteristics will again fit more into the profile of the F1-75.

I loved that time when they were fighting against each other. I can't find it but I think it was in Monaco when Fernando almost drop his helmet at him.
Also, I will never get over how bad that Mclaren-Mercedes was. Always on fire, not in a good way.... Loosing tyres...
